If he would just do that on every song nobody would complain. When Ian Gilligan can drop Child In Time from their set, one of their biggest hits, then surely Axl can drop some of the numerous hits in his catalog.

I wouldn't say radically altered. More like cutting away the fat and sticking to the basics.

The quality of the song was radically altered though.

The strength of KAOS is that it's not Pink Floyd. Hitchiking is good but sounds like an inferior sequel to the Wall. Amused to Death he really tries to be Pink Floyd but fails. His last album is a bit of a mix, I think it works very well.

Unfortunately Roger Waters doesn't like KAOS either. A shame. He could have done some unique stuff if he made more albums like that.

What is he doing out there? He can't possibly be this bad at singing. He's starting to sound like me.

Nobody expects him to sing it proper anymore. Is there not some other voice he can do that doesn't sound like a kid in puberty?

This album has popped for me in the last week. This is not Pink Floyd, it's not supposed to be Pink Floyd but it is great.

All of these songs are A+.

Would not surprise me. Must be hard for him to go out there as this supposedly "great vocalist" in the eyes of the public and be a shadow of his former self.

Axl hasn't looked happy in a photograph since 1992.

Also, they're in there listening to his live voice.

Star Trek Next Generation

Not really a Star Trek fan but I always liked this show. It's cheap and apart from Patrick Stewart the acting isn't great. A clear reminder of the time when there was a gulf between television and theater movies. The writing though is good, and I just love the setting. Roddenberry was a communist so the whole premise is ridiculous, and it also makes it an ugly show, but his utopian fantasy is quite comfortable. Traveling around the universe in that clean ship, beaming around and you can make any item you like from energy. Unlike today where such a show spends most of its time on politics, the sci fi takes the front seat here. After the Sopranos I need a break from dreariness. This is perfect for that.

The comparison is not skewed. Rachel Corrie was likely deliberately killed by the driver of the bulldozer that ran her over, despite the predictable official claims. Not the first time this has happened either.

Gilmour though knows how to play the media and get the public on his side, unlike Waters. The picture of his wife is very clever manipulation. Waters gave him an open goal when he went for her looks. Some similarities to Slash and Axl. The difference is Axl respects Slash musically, and of course the other way around, facilitating them making amends. Waters thinks Gilmour is a hack, and that is the real contention between them. A fundamental lack of respect. It's funny when you think about it, what they've achieved. But I get it too, one of them just want to go with the flow, the other want to keep pushing aggressively like some musical Alexander.
