#331 Re: Guns N' Roses » Duff McKagan on tour with GNR? » 586 weeks ago
I like that Tommy Stinson basically is telling Guns N' Roses to take a piss, he is touring with the Mats.
The Replacements is by a far a better gig than a nostalgic Guns N' Roses show, that can't keep any lead guitarists. Especially the ones that were so important in replacing Slash.

Once, in 2001 I travelled 2k miles to see them in Rio.
In 2010, they played in my neighborhood. Damn, was I excited back then! Chinese songs being rotated, setlists changing slightly from show to show, Axl singing well...
Now they're playing in my neighborhood again. Literally 5 miles from where I live. I was waiting the first shows of the tour to test the waters and I don't regret my decision of no spending one more buck on this nostalgia act.
I'd rather save the money to make something else.
I saw them in 2002 Toronto, and 2006 in New York City. With no new album in sight I skipped out on seeing them when they came around again. They finally released CD without Robin Finck, so I declined to support the new new line up.

Just shows, as usual, that Axl is lazy
There's nothing wrong with mixing it up, but Axl doesn't want to. And it's always said they play what the band wants, but it's clear they're following his lead... They want to play new songs as stated in public numerous times. Where is it?
Axl just doesn't have the passion to do new stuff anymore. The "fire" seems to have left with Robin. I just don't think it's a coincidence that things changed when he left.
Thank God The Replacements are coming to Atlanta in May....a real rock concert....no pyro bullshit, just great songs and you don't know what the hell they are going to do.
All he needs to do is get him back. I mean Robin joined him on stage a year or two ago right? I would think though Mr. Finck would need some reassurances that shit would get released or then why bother. He has such a phenomenal gig with NIN right now. Why be in a band that isn't releasing new material?
I saw the Replacements last year their second show being Riot Festival in Toronto. Man were they good. Josh Freese killed it. Highlight of my night. I have seen him with Devo in my home town, and man can that cat play.

I just googled GNR evolution. As the site was down.
I looked at My GNR and couldn't find any info. Also my eyes were burning when I looked at that site as 1997 called they want their shitty Geocities format back.
THANK GOD THIS SITE IS STILL AROUND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
#335 Re: Guns N' Roses » The Tommy Stinson Thread » 617 weeks ago
Man this gig was good.
I saw Tommy watching Iggy & The Stooges.
The VIP section wasn't that great, toilet line was ok. But the whole area was further back than the General Admission.
Mr. Stinson really seemed to be enjoying himself.
The highlight had to be Josh Freese's drumming. That dude hands down is one of the greatest drummers around today.
I saw him first with Weezer, then Devo and now the Replacements. Easily one of the highlghts for me.
#336 Re: Guns N' Roses » HAPPY BIRTHDAY BETA!!!!!!!!! XOXOXOXOXOXOx » 641 weeks ago
Whoa I just creeped that shit hole Here Today and that thread is serious, wow.
Talk about people with mental issues seriously.
Who the hell says Happy Birthday, to someone that isn't even in the band or a real manager.
I just looked at the names and any of those dudes that said Happy Birthday to her have got some masculinity issues.
They're clearly beta and not alpha.
#337 Re: Guns N' Roses » Axl Rose: the extended interview (Adelaide Now) » 642 weeks ago
That was the shittiest email interview I have ever read.
Seriously, just release the fucking music and let it do the talking.

I thought that there was a proper credits to the songwriting on Chinese Democracy on the ASCAP website, where Robin where Robin has a helluva a lot song writing credit.
I much prefer Robin's feeling, crab walk and artistic integrity versus a show boating, douche looking DJ Ashba. Sorry but the guy is a joke.
If Robin was such a shitty guitarist why would Axl Rose and Trent Reznor want him?
Wasn't he recommended by Matt Sorum to Axl?
