Is it just me or is there an Axl Rose backlash stirring amongst the boards that have always been full of his staunchest supporters.

Mabye because he no longer has the trump card of Chinese Democracy, people are less enthusiastic about humouring him, and his latest decision to stonewall his fanbase will not be greeted with the same "good ol' Axl" attitude that has unintentionally fed his contempt for so long.

I wonder at what point in the tour Axl pulled the plug on releasing the album.
I wouldnt be suprised if Brain was planning on coming back after the birth of his baby, but when on leave he found out the album was on hold yet again.

I cant remember what the speculation on the boards were, it was a very exciting time. A great tour lined up with Axl telling us the album was coming out that year. Brain leaving was not a huge event.

Bizarrely enough, the excitement GNR fans experienced in 2006 blows this wet fart of an album release out the water.

I'm pretty sure GNR were announced to be there before it was announced Bucket quit.

Says there Bucket was excited about Rock In Rio.

*edit:

Rio was booked before Bucket left*

Whether or not Axl pulled the plug on Rio, I think he pulled the plug on any pretence to the band that the album was coming and Bucket then jumped ship.

I dont think Brains heart was in touring with no album either in 2006. Didnt he say "I'll come back when the album is released" or something to that effect.

Sometimes I wonder if the people who have walked away are the people who have the most integrity towards the Guns N Roses fanbase.

Didnt Tommy Stinson's friend comment that Stinson had happily made 2 million dollars, from just sitting on his backside for a couple of years.

I believe Axl pulled the plug on that RIR show, Buckethead then quit because he had had enough of the timewasting and shitting on fans, and Axl Spinmaster Rose put out his press release to save his own face.

Bucket was out playing gigs immediately afterwards, Rose never surfaced for another 2 years, 4 years after the 2002 debacle, and the album still never surfaced for 4 years after Bucket leaving. Buckethead was still the main man on that album and the same vocals were on it.

Why wouldn't Robin return to GNR? He put a lot of work into the album and from what I can tell, he enjoys playing music with Tommy,Chris,Dizzy,Frank and everyone. NIN's tour ends this month, so one has got to assume that Robin will fly back to the GNR coup for a 2009 tour.

You might be right, but honestly, when you step back and look at the way both parties have handled this situation - there is definently a problem between them.

Trent Reznor today:

"... was it something I said? Wow.

For the record - Robin is not leaving the band."

#3397 Re: Guns N' Roses » NIN imploding? Finck coming back? (NOPE!) » 864 weeks ago

I dont think he will be coming back either. My point was that Trent referring to personell leaving doesnt suggest Finck leaving.

Time will tell on that of course, I'm sure though that if Robin does leave he will go with Trents best wishes, rather than "NIN imploding" as some of the boards are suggesting.

#3398 Re: Guns N' Roses » NIN imploding? Finck coming back? (NOPE!) » 864 weeks ago

Isnt this tour an elaborate specialised production?
It could be the live show is the work of a specialist production company who have all the equipment, knowhow and expertise to make this particular stageshow. Its not your average roadies using hired equipment directed by Mr Reznor putting on that show. There will be a a small number on the payrol who are there only because of this production and will no doubt have something else lined up for 2009.

The tour was always scheduled to end this production in 2009 since it was very expensive to maintain. He hoped to try and get that special performance completed and filmed before the end of the year, while he had all the right people under contract.
"This tour and a lot of the personnel involved finish at the end of this leg, so we can't push filming into Jan / Feb"

There is no option now, these people are leaving and that version of "the tour" was never scheduled to continue after december.
Its not a case just dialing up some people, professionals such as these can have their calanders booked more than a year in advance, even longer.

The schedule, budget, arenas, crew etc are all planned out way in advance, you cant just chop and change from that management plan because the windows of opportunity for change and the budget are all very tight.

#3399 Re: Guns N' Roses » NIN imploding? Finck coming back? (NOPE!) » 864 weeks ago

The reference to personell and the scaling down of the extravagence of the tour says to me, the technicians and crew reponsible for creating the live experience were not booked to continue  that production post december. They cant push for them to continue simply because as a professional outfit these guys will have other projects scheduled for 2009. So Trents plan of filming the show in 3D etc will not happen at all now because the expert personell needed to pull it off will not be available.
I wish I had a chance to see that show, it looked pretty spectacular.

I dont think he is referring to his band as personell. He could find replacements for them easily enough.

#3400 Re: Guns N' Roses » Brain & Frank - a question about the album credits » 865 weeks ago

In the section of IRS where Axl starts singing "feeling like I've done way more than wrong" etc, I think the music in that section has been rerecorded with Ron as the main gutarist and Frank on drums. Then it goes back to the original version after Axl says "...like a broken record for so long..."

I noticed it sounded different on first listen, and I'm positive its been cut n pasted into the song.
I dont know why they never just rerecorded the whole song instead of pasting the new in with the old.
