I agree it's probably a little over the top to drag the old members into it, BUT everyone and anyone who has a negative thing to say about Chinese Democracy ultimately points out the absence of original members. So what's the difference?
Its Guns N Roses official site. And that article would have remained largely anonymous to the people behind this latest update if it didnt include those lines. Its been carefuly chosen to attack the old members.
Reviewers who bring the old members into it do so on their on prerogative, its nothing to do with the old members.
This is bang out of order and particuarly puerile.

Ha, they deleted my topic about it on HTGTH!
I think they have hired Quick-Draw McGraw to man the delete button over there these days, I'm raging with some of the reasonable posts I have made deleted.

Its turning me off.
I cant believe the change in my perception of new GNR, and the circus around them, since the album came out, I have barely had a positive thought.

Of all the recent articles talking about the new album positively, thats the one they chose?
The fucking Boston Herald? Who gives a fuck what they think, surely a more prestigious newspaper reviewed the album.
Oh wait, but none of them said that
Absolutely pathetic.

Updated again. Ummmm... apparently Slash, Izzy and the rest ruined Use Your Illusions.
Who is the genius behind the controls of this site?

Check out that article on the official website belittling the original members.
Of all the press reviews this is the one chosen?

Or maybe some of us just recognize a great song when we hear it, regardless of who it is.
Some are more than capable of that, yup
#3448 Re: Guns N' Roses » so, does CD stand up as a Guns N' Roses album? » 865 weeks ago
Its a good record and I pretty much enjoy it all. I know GNR have diversified with each record and I always found that brilliant and stimulating.
But I do miss the old GN'R sound. I mean the old albums sound like a band playing as a group and it has a warmth and attraction.
This album is lacking that, its relied far too heavily in building songs piece by piece and assembling them later on at a computer. By doing so lost something natural, an organic vibe, that a computer program cant immitate and the old albums simply oozed.

I'm amazed at the popularity of TIL, I wonder how many of the fanboys would be hailing it the greatest song ever, if someone else sung it. Me finks it would slip under their radar.

I wonder why this band doesnt seem to mind the late arrivals?
I dont think Buckethead did, from what I read he felt upset with cancelations, keeping fans waiting, riots and lack of album.
Brain also said "I'll come back when they release the album", I guess he was fed up with the delays by that point.
