When you're blatantly called out it illicits a response. I responded. Trust me when I say this: I have no desire to continue it. It has absolutely nothing to do with the topic at hand which is what I was pointing out.  No offense here either but I would suggest a  two post "outburst" between members be given the chance to die on it's own before the members in question are "scolded". There's far worse things that have been allowed to drag out. I'd think two members who are respectful enough of each other(hopefully) and the foum guidlines get the chance to let it go without being spanked first.  Thanks though.

Between quoting what was an obvious joke from me in your first post above and then mentioning me again in the second post, I get the feeling you are trying to bait me or call me out. I've moved on. I'm learning to take the high road. You should too.

That is all from me on this. Hope you can "comprehend" that. (Your words, not mine.)

reading comprehension Bigbri. Try it sometime.  My comments were clearly directed at Jame's quote. you must think pretty highly of yourself to think I logged in today to bait you. Get over yourself. I'll quote who I want, when I want and if that hurts your feelings tough. Although I was not quoting you in this case rest assured there's an excellent chance  I will quote you at some point in the future. That is of course if you plan on posting in the future. As for mentioning you well considering you feel the only way I adress others on this site is in a  condescending manner I figured I'd save you the trouble of pointing it out. I was clearly stating that you and possibly others may find what I was about to say condescending. "Baiting you"?  Yeah you've moved on alright roll. Clearly not. Someone who's moved on would add to the discussion at hand rather than try their best to point out how another members is "baiting" them when that's clearly not the case.  And moved on from what? A disagreement last week? Shit man I disagree with everyone. You don't see Saikin or CC whining about it:haha:.  CC and I go at it all the time in the sports section it doesn't mean we have issues with each other. That's bullshit forum drama stuff you're creating here man.  Seriously Bigbri when I log out I leave the shit behind. When I log in it's all new. I have no agenda's of "baiting" anyone on any forum.  You might wanna go for a walk and get some fresh air if you think that's the case.

the important thing about BH is that he wasn't seen as Slash's replacement, but rather as an entity of his own, which further gave weight to the "New Gnr" being different from the old one....Axl's vision of a new band almost looked interesting enough to accept, even for us...

That's what BH's presence did....

I completely disgaree 100%. Slash is mentioend every single time Buckethead comes up. If Buckethead wasnt' looked at as Slashs replacement than who was? Or did Slash simply not exist? I'm just being realistic here. Buckethead is, was and maybe again Slash's replacement. Aside from people on Gn'R forums who have grown to like Buckethead over the last decade EVERYONE else will see Buckethead or whoever plays guitar in Gn'R as Slash's replacement.  In fact even Gn'R diehard forum members looked at Buckethead in the begining as Slash's replacement. Why? Cause the fact is he was.

I'll say it with no doubt in my mind, if the album was released in 2004 with Buckethead, buckethead would have made a bigger impact than Slash did back in 1987. He was the "cousin it" guy for a while and was considered a freak by the average fan, but nothing compared to Buckethead. And he had to share the superstar spotlight with Axl Rose. And lets be honest, Axl was the star of the show.  Plus, Bucket's playing is something out of this world. Very distinctive, that makes jaws drop. And he has a sound and look no other band has/had. I say he'd be responsible for 40-50% of new interest in new GNR next to Axl. And think about it when I say NEW interest in Guns N' Roses.

Sorry guys but it seems to me people are getting bit carried. A bigger impact than Slash? Bigbri will say I'm being condescending here but I'm starting to get the vibe that the excitement of Shackler's Revenge is starting to cloud people's perception to the point where they're falling into the same old trap of hyping their own hype. Honestly when you guys say things like "Buckethead would've had a bigger impact than Slash" it comes across as so naive cause it simply could not, would not and won't ever happen. No matter how good BH is.

is it a crime to see the forest for the trees? I get people like Buckethead. I think he's wicked myself just not the stuff he's done in Gn'R. When I hear 9 songs that are pretty much avereage at best and then hear other people raving about how Buckethead has killed it on these songs and how he's made Slash all but irrelevant in Gn'R it makes me shake my head and wonder. I truley believe people get swallowed up in their own excitment.:|

Guess who was in the most pictures in GNR mentions in magazines(Blender, Stuff, etc.)  during the 2002-05 silent years?

answer: It wasn't Axl.

I think you know where this is leading.....

He was the star of the band and was the only person capable of silencing the "Where's Slash?" screams

he was the star of the band for asthetic reaons only though james. He didn't blwo the average listener away with his playing. he didnt' blow me away and I'm far from your average listener.  Obviously the guy who looks the oddest will get the mentions. And I'll go out on a  limb and say he didn't silence the "where's Slash" screams.  The only difference now is most people want BH back over BBF. Don't think for a second if you took a poll most people would want BH over Slash. Just ain't gonna happen. Of course when I say that I'm talking real people. Not nut jobs like us on the Gn'R boards 16

As for this latest news I'll believe it when I see it. Interesting though. It's the first official "release date" of any new Gn'R material since Oh My God. Let's  see what happens.

I can't wait for the instrumentals of this whole album to leak. It'll be Buckethead solo CD! LOL!

Actually, its starting to look like thats not far from the truth. His stamp is all over these tracks.

Like I said at mygnr, its time for the Bucket haters to accept the fact he played a major role in the creation of this record.

Who ever denied he played a major role in creating the album? As far as I know Axl can't play guitar well enough to bring anything to fruition so I always assumed the guys playing the instruments wrote their own parts only they had to be approved by the boss.  I'm not a Bucket hater by any means but for me personally I have yet to hear anything on the new albums that blows my mind. The guitar parts as far as I'm concerend are average.  I'm in the minority here on this website I know, but I dont' think I'll be in the minority when it comes to the general public.  Nothing I've heard excites me the way I was when I first heard the Illusion albums. The guitar stuff just isn't as good in my opinion. Maybe on a  final mix of a new song my opinion  will change but untill than I'd say the Buckethead hate has been ridiculous, but the Buckethead praise has been way over blown as well.

Bono just an FYI someone posted earlier MTV actually owns Rock Band the video game. So they would have a vested interest in Nu-GnR if they're also on the game. I don't think they'll be playing though, U2 or more likely Metallica will be asked.

yeah I read that. I just don't see it as a legit reason for Gn'R to play. It'd be the ultimate sellout by Axl. Fans wait a decade for his new album then he puts all his effort into promoting a video game 16. I just dont' see it. Unless nu Gn'R has an album coming out they won't  play. Like you said U2 or even more likley Metallica. This album is being hyped as a return to form for Metallica and in a  way they've been gone forever if you erase St. Anger form you mind which many have. So many more people will tune in to see the return  of Metallica than they will for a new Gn'R song on a video game performed by guys who aren't  Slash.  the new Gn'R market is so small compared to the Metallica market that even with MTV owning Rock Band the better move for them is to avoid Gn'R and go with someone relevant.

I agree, which is why if they do get confirmed, something is getting released. Hell, the band could go on there and promote Rock Band 2.

If it goes the way I think it's going to then MTV would be all over it release of new material or not.

Whoa! Whoa! Stop! Stop! that little quote that James took from my original post is being taken outta context now.:haha: If it's a reunion hell yeah they'll do it. I agreed with that.  If it's "NuGn'R" hell no. Not without a release of some kind. MTV won't be punked by these punks again. Original Gn'R don't need shit to gain interest or have people repsect them. They could hammer outta  deal where Axl plays the flute in place of vocals, Slash on banjo,  Duff plays a stand up bass made form a metal bucket and a broom stick,  the drummer whoever it may be could play on ice cream buckets and Izzy could  fake it on a  Guitar Hero guitar for all MTV  cares. Get the original guys together and anything goes regardless.  This new circus won't fly twice. Not with MTV and not with fans. Unless of course people look forward to Axl being even more of a joke.

I've heard one song from her on radio and I could've swore it was Tegan and Sara. Sounds insanely similar. At least that one song did.
