#3491 Re: The Sunset Strip » Went and saw The Foo Fighters During ROV hiatus » 887 weeks ago

I saw the Foo Fighters about 2 months ago at Rexall Place in Edmonton. I hadn't been to a show in a  few months and  thought they'd be pretty cool and something fun do. I had no fucking idea!! these guys fucking ruled beyond a shadow of a doubt.  One of the top five shows I have ever seen.  I agree with every positive thing said in this thread. Knock down drag'em out, kick ass live rock n' roll band. Dave Grohl is a master frontman. he had 20 000 people in the palm of his hand. Something I haven't  seen since *cough* Bono and maybe Bon Jovi. They genuinely wanted to be there. You could tell. Nothing fake about these guys. Pure gold. I was a very casual Foo Fighters fan but after that show I'm a fan for life and will see them EVERY time they come around. You get a chance to see these guys..... DO IT!

Uhh, not me. I liked Tarantula and Doomsday Clock. Rest sucks. So, we're haters now because everyone doesn't fall lock-step in line with your opinion?

Well it's up to you Bigbri whether you want to try and comprehend what I was saying or simply ignore it. If that's the case then yes unless you agree with me you're a hater.  It's been that way since day one. Where have you been?

And how can you honestly say Starz sucks? O.k. than. roll

Listen to Tarantula, Starz, United States and so on. The album sounds great. the Songs sound solid and thick not like a bunch of seperate layers.   But whatever.  I suppsoe I'll have to go digging for sources of prasie from members on this site now.  the point here is nobody has answered the question whether or not you'd put you name to these "finished products" if you were a producer.  I guess if you're into listening to things though a  tin can they kick ass.

A lot of people hate the production on the new Pumpkins album, Bono. Most Pumpkins albums sound less-produced than these CD leaks.

No kidding they sound less produced. More isnt' always better. the pumpkins album sounds great as fara s how everything is mixed. These Gn'R leaks sound like a  cluster fuck. Also that's the first negative comment I've ever read regarding the new Pumpkins album since it' was relesed. Who are these people that suddenly hate the production on it?  I just dont' get how anyone can listen to these songs and think they're album ready. Like APE said woud you put your name to these if you were a producer? This is Andy Wallace approved production? My god.

Yeah, I don't really get the point of calling this material demos anymore.

Because they sound too shitty to be finished products. Listen to the new Pumpkins album, the new Foo Fighters, hell the Illusion albums. Listen to the new  Wilco album or the new Britney Sopears album. Listen to the song hell yeah by Rev Theory. the prduction on these CD songs blows donkey balls(pardon my grade two chirp) in comparison. It's rather amatuerish if you ask me. yeah they sound like polished demos but still demos. Finished products? No way. If so it's embarassing. That long in a  studio and you come up with that? Pathetic.

I can not wait for this. Its' gonna fucking rule. heath ledger will be a legend after this.

I love The Cure. Lullaby(musically anyways) stomps these CD ballads. Just posted it for that guy who never heard them.

Sweet. I read your commenst in another thear about them and wasn't sure which side of the fence you were on. Guess the way you posted could've been seen either way.

Off topic: I saw the Cure at Red Rocks in Colorado last month. Un-fucking- real. 9 straight songs  in the encore after already playing for 2 hours.

#3499 Re: Guns N' Roses » Where are the AFD on Steroids songs » 887 weeks ago

James are you mocking the Cure again? I havent' been able to tell if you're commending them or knocking them. Lullaby is one of the  classic fucking songs of all time. knocks the shit outta anything we've heard from CD in my opinion.  Classic, original, timeless.  I love  that shit!

The music is on the fence of being bad ass.  I think they just lack and identity and chemistry.  They don't know what they are or what they should sound like.  Its a shame.  Is Better the New GNR's banner song?  Like Paradise City is the Classic Lineup's theme song?  What is this band about?  I don't get it.  They don't know either.  The magic that came from 5 friends is gone.  There is not magic.  There is nobody rising to Axl's vocals.  NOBODY. Like some said, great solos by the guitar players, but they are solos, not for the song.  Just solos to solo and sound like they were punched in.  It sounds to sterile and contrived to me.  All these dramatic synthisizer intros are too much.  Not bare bones enough. Does Chinese Democracy need a one minute intro?  perhaps, but 5 other songs don't.  Its not Dio "Holy Diver" for heaven's sake.   And Holy Diver is a classic song.  They are right on the cusp of being there.  BRI, I do "enjoy" the songs, don't get me wrong.  But like Bono says, 11 years for this?  Are you serious.  Fuck the final mix, it won't save these songs.  They need new songs to save this.  Is this the worst album ever?  Fuck no.  Is this the worst GNR album ever?  Damn right.

No, the worst GN'R album ever is Spaghetti Incident. And actually, I think CD will be more consistent than the Illusions, but definitely not worth the wait. Not even close to worth it.

Oh c'mon SI isn't even a  Gn'R record and everyone knows that. But to be honest I'd take SI over CD any day of the week.
