Well I thought I liked Riad least for years, but its pushing for top position now. Catcher was in my top 3 previously, now its bottom 3. Its nowt to do with the solo, I just dont think it sounds very good. Only addition I like is the new drums.
Mabye when I get the album in its true format I'll like the new Catcher more, I do really like the new drums and I'll always love the vocals.
I've just noticed Tommy's bass on it as well, sounds quite cool. No Pitman sub bass drowning it out either. Its the guitars in outro that really puts me off, urgh.

I like the new logo, was thinking of getting it as a tattoo. Though I don't want to get if its going to be turning up on belt buckles, ashtrays, clocks and all the other naff memorablia. If think I'll wait a while and see how quickly I become sick of it.

Is that top one the alternative cover?

Not really, the "demos" were one shot shy of being finished at one point, some probably were done. Prostitute is the same as the album version, only better mixed. If the demos sucked they would been unlistenable for so long, as one reporter said "these are the best produced demos of all time", GNR called them rough demos to save face, just like Oh My God.
The 2002 Boston promos was clips from the original CD leak, Maddy leak and The Blues leak.

It's a fuckin' comedy. Those that cared the most and stood by the band for all these years, decades, are the ones ending up being burned. And we have nobody else to blame but ourselves. (Yeah, yeah, blame Axl Bono, he didn't force you
)
I dont feel burned.
I feel like we experienced something very unusual and special, I dont regret one leak or live show I downloaded.
The first I actually heard new gnr was in 2001 when I tracked down a backstreet record shop in the city who had a RIR 3 bootleg on cd. I never had the internet and relied on magazines and newspapers for information.
The old man who owned the place was curious himself and he played the first few songs over the shop sound system. There were lots of people in there, it had a tattoo parlour and computer game section, everyone was listening and blown away by Axls scream during the intro.
I wanted to hear a new song Madagascar I'd read about, he put that on and it was incredible, it sounded so good, the whole shop was bobbing their heads along with it and thought it was quite brilliant.
£20 I paid for that bootleg, thats about $40.
Thats just one moment of enjoyment over the years.
There has been quite a few- hearing The Blues demo after being in love with it for years, that was so magical and much more enjoyable than the album version.
I pity the fools who missed out on the real treats over the years.
I dont regret anything, its been a lot of fun.
I forgot buying End Of Days in 99, that was killer

I'm very gratefull to have discovered Brain thanks to this project. This guy is a wizard, completely immpecable at his work, totally inspired and a joy to listen to.
Honestly this guy makes me want to take up the drums the way Slash made me want to pick up guitar.

I agree Tommy is definently buried as oppose to missing. Buckets lovely funky guitars on ITW are there but buried amongst the clutter.
I wonder if the "ominous" sub bass by pitman is to blame.
Is it that cheap n nasty techno bass that keeps popping up on new gnr songs?

Tommy is a bit MIA on this album is he not?
#3509 Re: Guns N' Roses » When will it leak? *It Leaked* » 866 weeks ago
Clutter usually means unnecessary as well.
I'm suprised so little people have commented on sloppy production when reasons for disregarding Oh My God by the masses, poor production is top of the list.
Personally I rate it very highly, one of the best new gnr songs I ever heard. There was room for it this disc and I think it would have broke up the piano songs a little bit more.
Oh well, I can always make my own mix up like whatsitman.(silkworms? really?)

I really like the songs, and the way all the components have been edited together is at times wonderful, but at other times simply awful. There is no place for awful worksmanship in a project like this that has had unparalled resources, from producers, to musicians, to financial backing and to timescale.
Pidgeons of Death Metal are talking rubbish when they talk of production.
Go listen to Dark Side Of The Moon and read up on the wonderful and innovative production process those guys used in the days before computers. Taping tiny pieces of cassette recordings together with the sound of a cash register for the song "money", no samplers and those days - you want a loop, you have to piece one together by hand. 1 year in a studio and the masterpiece was flawlessly recorded.
