GNR song in RB3?
Huh?
Actually, I think people are hoping to see Revolver and Pink Floyd...GNR not on the radar scope...
#352 Re: GN'R Downloads » CD Moggs Currently Available » 785 weeks ago
see i dont think that this will affect any future rock band releases..maybe i'm wrong, but as i understand (from mogg forums, yes i joined a few looking for these moggs back when Prostitute was made available) but these moggs were rumored that if you wanted them that you would have to get your hands on them pre encryption....meaning that a hrmonix employee ultimately would theoretically be the source of these files....anyway i looked and looked for these things months ago and had no luck, so i basically gaveup/forgot about them and i asked you about them when you posted about it a couple days ago...and you said no...so to me thats throwing it in my face, but you were nice enough to give me a smilie face response...thanks for that btw
We were on the same path it seems.
Well, I wasn't sure you were serious, as I thought I made it clear I wasn't going to share. I couldn't.
anyway i have them now thanks to junglegunner who posted the link last night...if the link goes down then anyone who wants it will be able to get them...its not cool to flaunt shit that other peopel want...its like the kid at school that wasnt taught to share....if my kids dont share they go to the naughty spot
Been quite as a mouse until the complete posting became inevitable. No posts about "check out the harp on TIL!" or such from me. It was in my best interests to keep quiet about these - trying to "honor" the rules of another place, while trying not to be an ass here. I think I failed in that. That's my fault.
I didn't mean to 'join' a zuper zekrit klub, but clubs form whether you want to join one or not.

Their big ace was the Mogg's? Really? That's it?
I guess?
My thought was these were a temporary novelity that MIGHT have moved something. Maybe. But it wasn't going to be done on MyGNR, and it wasn't going to happen once a few people made the novelty a ticking time bomb (which happened like, the day they were posted).
Harmonix is not even paying attention to any of this. Harmonix is too busy making THIER money to give two flying rat shits about Guns N' Roses, Judas Priest, Pearl Jam, or any other artist that puts full albums up on DLC for the Rock Band franchise.
Most articles I've read in the press about the music games (RB / Band Hero, GH...) notes that it took a lot of work to convince the bands/labels that the copy protection was sound enough to allow their masters to be used. A few bands embace this - even selling stems for remixes to fans - but many old school acts approach these as something to be locked up and hidden. The Beatles, for instance, wouldn't have allowed TBRB if the copy protection was weak (and it wasn't weak).
Harmonix was and has been on the trail of the people who first extracted and documented how to get the moggs out and decrypted. One was a pretty prominant console hacker who has since... stepped away.
What a bunch of crap,cmon .
And why it could affect RB3 release them didnt cracked the moggs those files was recorded by p_people and maybe x_theory
There are only 2 real mogg SR and Prostitute if u got an extension mogg in those new relleases its fan create the original release is 7 tracks ogg's...
Well, sort of. They did a little bit more than hook up an RCA cable and hit "record", though.
The thinking is the underlying program would change signifigantly by Rock Band III (which includes a keyboard), making the method obsolete, or it wouldn't change (because Harmonix didn't know to make changes), making the method forward compatible - ensuring more music, and some Holy Grails like Pink Floyd.

I'll "cut the hoarder shit" when you people stop parading around with this crap acting like you have something of value.
Keep the shit to yourself= no one mentioning it or knowing you have it.
Where did I parade around and trump up the value, exactly?
I didn't get these from anyone talking about trading, and they don't speak for me.

Gagarin wrote:James, for once, you're clueless.
If by clueless you mean right on the money, then I agree.
Right on the money about what?
Lame postings about dog turds and then, basically describing what I described - pretending to say something new? Pretending to be informed?
I'm "offended" at being called a hoarder and being grouped into this rabble at MyGNR, and perhaps most of all, annoyed at the entitlement mentality, well actually ---- mostly annoyed that the flow of moggs has stopped because some people didn't follow the rules.
And the stupidest thing, James, if you're running a fetish website and then pointing out how stupid it is for others to engage in that fetish. Yes, GNR, MLA, whatever - they're fetish properties, like comic books. In the grandscheme, these moggs are just as worthless as any other GNR song, unreleased, released, or whatever. It's annoying how the main thing you contribute to these discussions are how "worthless" these files are. Well, whatever. I just know I enjoy them, I'd like to get more, this 'now now now' mentality has prevented that.
#356 Re: GN'R Downloads » CD Moggs Currently Available » 785 weeks ago
James, for once, you're clueless.
GNR is just a dot on the scope, and they, meaning -NO ONE WHO YOU SEE POSTING AT MYGNR- care because of months of research, hours of work, and the potential to see it go away because Harmonix catches them and the more sensitive bands stop or don't put content on DLC. The Chinese Democracy Moggs were among the first batch done, but they certainly weren't the last, and there's many more that could come.
Only when GNR fandom got connected to this did it get ridiculous.
Just because someone has something you don't doesn't mean they owe you anything or owe fans, or makes someone 'hoarder' because they have something that you don't. Sorry, but to me, "do not distribute" until the all clear of Rock Band III didn't seem like too much to ask. And that's what I did.
So cut the hoarder shit because that's what it is. The files weren't "mine" to give away.
And if they're "turds", they're turds, but to others they're very fascinating --- and to me, it's not just Chinese Democracy, but dozens and dozens of other artists and songs that I've heard multitracks of.
#357 Re: GN'R Downloads » CD Moggs Currently Available » 785 weeks ago
Gagarin, you are obviously one of those hoarders then who is butthurt.
These multis would never ever get Checkmate or the likes, if you believe that you are an amateur with this.
For 2 months these hoarders tried to get stuff with the multis, all they got was a 1993 Dead Flowers version traded to them as a 2000 Dead Flower version with Axl and Gilby and for weeks these hoarders thought it was a real one. Until LLL yesterday posted it and everyone laughed at these hoarders believing it was real.
And for months these hoarders have been waving the remixes in front of the fan base like we are cattle that must beg them for snippets. Well, in the last 24 hours they got their ass handed to them and we love it.
Although I've had these files for 2-3 months, and got them from the originator, the first day they were posted, I have not been waving them around using mashups or remixes, nor have I posted them up piece-meal to drive people crazy. Nor have I been out there saying 'I have teh Moggsz!'. I wasn't anything special - I just kept following and persuing this for 2 years. Anyone of you could have gotten these files if you were so interested and looked into it and put the time in. Multitracks have become a hobby of mine, so I benifitted from that. I'm not obligated to post everything GNR related I find on the Internet because I'm on fan forums. It's not my business.
The people who had these Moggs, the one's you're talking about, were not 'hoarders' as conventionally defined. For one, they're idiots. Anyone mistaking a 1993 Dead Flowers for a 2000 Dead Flowers is a moron. And for two, they weren't supposed to have these files in the first place.
The 150 or so people who originally got these files were not supposed to post them up, talk of them publically, or give them to people who couldn't be trusted. Obviously that broke down, so then you have A giving it to B, who gives it to C, who then posts parts of them on forums and mashups. You have C out there 'hoarding it' because A trusted too much. These B and C people were the ones who would be talking about making trades in the forums and passing around samples --- and fooling for a 1993 Dead Flowers. Rule of thumb - people talking about doing trades at a MyGNR or a GNREvo, know nothing about actually doing trades. The pretenders got their ass handed to them.
Attack their lameness, I had nothing to do with that.
Posting mashups was exactly AGAINST the rules setout by the community that produced these Moggs. People there have been banned over things like this, and the people that have the skill to what is nessesary to get this audio out have stopped. Because they're in pretty real danger, and because it takes 8-12 hours to do something the size of Chinese Democracy. So, hurray for you, I guess, but this has pretty much shutdown my multitrack enthisiast friends. All was to be out there eventually, but I think we'll end up with even less, and the more these multis are out there, the less bands will agree to put thier masters in video games (which is already a dying fad).
So if you think I was among the rabble on MyGNR trying to get 'Checkmate' or Dead Flowers (haha...wow), and getting caught up in trying to sell these things (uh, wow)...you're seriously mistaken.
There was no skill involved in getting these out, and no one should be made out into a hero. Someone posted some megaupload or rapidshare links to a friend, who was dopey enough to give them to someone else, who was dopey enough to give to someone else. 2 months go by and these dopes think they're important, and finally, another dope just posts them all up.
#358 Re: GN'R Downloads » CD Moggs Currently Available » 785 weeks ago
Gagarin
Do you get checkmate? or was very close.
Why in the @$#%@$#% (if "get rare stuff" was a real target) were many people involved with the moggs?
LOL. No, no I didn't get Checkmate, nor was I close, nor was I looking for 'Checkmate'.
I used that example because that's what that posted used as an example. He equated these Moggs being released with getting an unheard song out there - which is ridiculous, as if getting these Moggs out there will cause other things to leak. Not gonna happen.
#359 Re: GN'R Downloads » CD Moggs Currently Available » 785 weeks ago
No, he "buttfucked" a community that's about multitracks, of which GNR was just a dot on the scope, so GNR fans could enjoy what are basically 6 instrument isolations and make bad remixes.
Edit: And give themselves nightmares when they listen to the 'other instruments track' of Sorry on repeat.
And there's not a lot of skill in what he did.
Unlike what would be needed to get 'Checkmate' out there.
#360 Re: GN'R Downloads » Axl CD vocal medley » 785 weeks ago
^ Who's rules though?
I'll grant you that it's probably trading copyrighted files, but then if they were upset about that how did they obtain a copy in the first place. Does this respect for copyright and the law kick in after they obtain their own unlicenced copy?
Or do you mean the rules of the trading community? In which case it sounds like hoarding under another name to me
The rules of the people who worked for the files.
This isn't a GNR thing. Hardly on the radar of the 'hoarders' as you call them. None of the people 'freeing' these files did the work to produce them - and probably shouldn't have gotten the the files in the first place. Am I hoarding because I'm following the 'do not post in public rule' ? Am I not sharing to feel special or important? No, I'm not. The people who have posted these up shouldn't have. So those that have them now, and have posted some, and others who have recently blabbed about having them and not posting them, or taking that they might post them, sure, call them hoarders --- but my reason is that the people who GOT these files asked them to not be posted publically, and I'm following that.
