America has no idea about the lineup changes....PERIOD. They will either come to see Axl sing the hits or they won't.
I worry about ticket sales as well...these are big basketball arenas so it could be rough.
Not so sure about that. What you describe above is a nostalgia act. Is that what G&R have become? If you are right, how the mighty have fallen.
The casual fan may not give a crap who plays the hits and, if that is the demographic, then Axl will be perpetually be stuck in 1987. The show effectively is a time machine at that point. A lot of bands are stuck in the nostalgia trip.
If he wants to reach further and bring something exciting and new, then he has to connect the new line up with the audience. Personnel changes and lack of visibility will undercut any attempts for the band to be anything more than a Greatest Hits machine. Frankly that fate worries and saddens me.

not a fan of Ron's solo music at all. I think his parts on Chinese are very solid though and I like him in a role like that. Coming in and adding a tasty solo or nice rhythm part.
I hear that.
I am also not impressed with his presence in the band, or lack thereof. With so many big solos, it still befuddles me why he fades into the background for 95% of the show.

Even if they are writing, it's all part of the geologic process of song creation that GnR has adopted since 1999.

Maybe Slash and Bucket can both rejoin.....some of you people live on Fantasy Island.
If we are evaluating probabilities, there is a hell of alot better chance of the latter than the former.

While i'd be all for stuff happening, I don't really see that one gig being scheduled in South America is a sign of a USA tour or a new CD release or anything else - I just see it as a sign that Axl wants to play RIR.
That festival seems to have always held a special place for the band and for fans of the band even - with several notable peformances over the years. I would take it on face value - that the modern band simply wants to add to that legacy and enjoy the amazing atmosphere of headlining a show like that.
I mean maybe it's part of a broader integrated strategy to release other products or whatever, and I'd jump at the chance if it is, but I also think it could easily be just something awesome for the band to do for it's own sake.
With any luck this will be streamed or proshot somehow and we'll get a lasting boot of the peformace ala RIR3.
I agree with you. There are a lot of problems with the US Market, i.e. Live Nation, for GnR. This seems like something to keep the light on and the band in good form in the hope that something gets sorted out in the meantime.
Hopefully, I am wrong, but perhaps we can get a small venue gig out of this as a warm up.
It would nice to get Bucket back too.

God, if jarmo pulled that interview b/c of his unhappiness with the truth, then he seriously has issues to work out.
It is truly amazing to watch the extremes to which a GnR apologist will bend over to take it deep and hard.

I know the guy in the pictures on the previous page. I think he got it from Bumble's people....

Why all the secrecy with these new pictures? I see the topic has been deleted at htgth, whats the big deal? Its not a leak or anything.
Some people have been hoarding it. This issue came up in another forum; they were privileged enough to get hold of it but were unwilling to leak it around b/c it would hurt these contacts.
I can understand the reason for keeping it under wraps, but they shouldn't have been discussing it on open message boards, posting pics of them getting it signed, etc if it was something they had no intention to shard. Just keep your mouth shut about it.

I knew quite a few people from the GnR Bar who had it; they received it from band members/contacts, allowed others to look at it, but would not share.
