Fuck sake. The guitars are what carried it, not the poxy lyrics or shitty artificial strings. Actually its that artificial bassline thats drowning much of it out.
Too much. Yet again, too fucking much dumped on top of the actual song.
The word "clusterfuck" popped into my head, listening to it through headphones.

I wasnt that keen on it, I think it was muffled a bit with the clean up job though.
Chinese Democracy and If The World seem to have little last minute things done to them to try and make them better.
The whole boom boom thing in the intro to CD, the amaturish repeat of the first note of If The World, like someone playing with their first sampler, the phased "la la la"... honestly thats the kind of shit I used to do when I was a bedroom techno dj 15 years ago.
I remember the NY Times article, I think it was them - someone spoke out about the goings on and said the story about Oh My God being a rough throw away demo was rubbish, stating that Axl was bricking it and still tinkering with it at the 11th hour trying to beef it up as much as possible.
#3593 Re: Guns N' Roses » Is there a song where Axl sings about Slash? Per Younggunner yes » 867 weeks ago
Sorry could be aimed at Slash, journalists or Guns N Roses fans. I think its all of them.

The Motormouth thing was apparantly from an interview with Fortus that was mostly about Nena, but I never knew it was a fake interview. It was quite a while ago, way before that so called official email with the tracklisting featuring it as well.

Didnt Richard mention something called "motormouth" once?

The Blues is still one of my favourites, that song will be such a smash hit! I'm loving the full production, it really does give it a much grander sound.
I heard the 01/01/01 version today for the first time in ages, I love that version as well, my favourite of the classic new gnr period!
#3598 Re: Guns N' Roses » Which is single worthy? » 867 weeks ago
I went for Sorry, but I don't think any of them would make a good single. Sorry has some good melodies that would would appeal to a broad audience, Scraped has the ability to repel people as much as it does attract, This I Love is just a bit too dull, a more assertive guitar solo would elevate it.
Sorry is a really nice tune, let down by occasional dodgy lyrics. Still not convinced by the chorus, but it is growing on me.

Where was this from? Obviously British, I can hear the americans scratching their heads saying "Wayne Rooney? Colleen McLoughlin ??"
Makes me feel old though reading it.

I seen this description of Chinese Democracy at Amazon.co.uk:
Product Description
Description
After fifteen long years of speculation, rumours, lies, misinformation and disappointment, the patience of fans of the one-time "most dangerous band in the world" looks set to finally be rewarded with the release of this, their sixth album. Despite frontman and allegedly obsessive mastermind W. AxlRose being the sole remaining founder member, the music sounds much as it did back in the band's glory days - grandiose, massively produced, bluesy hard rock with a decidedly misanthropic vibe
That made me think, this guy has actually heard it!
Misanthropic, thats the word I've been looking for to describe this album.
I wonder if Axl is planning lyrically to release albums charting his suffering, healing and redemption. That would be a such a unique concept.
