#3621 Re: Guns N' Roses » Two year "anniversary" of the Hammerstein show(s) » 893 weeks ago

My God my excitement was at an all time high in May 2006. I went to the show on May 15th and was so pumped up. the show was one of the best shows I've ever seen and at that time I still had an ounce of respect for Axl. Sad how things changed only 7 months later.  I had tickets to the Edmonton and Calgary shows in December and by the time they rolled around I didn't eve wanna go. I had figured it out that the whole thing was a sham and Axl was using the fans as funding for something we'll never see. Too many antics on the tour, too many cancelled shows(yeah, yeah they did well for Gn'R, who gives a shit it's was poor by other artist standards) for bogus reasons, the insanely late stage arrivals all combined with the "promise" of an album that was a flat out lie, really turned me off. Plus the shows I saw in December were average at best.  It was at that point I realized I was supporting an artist who had zero respect for his fans and in fact probably has some contempt for his fans. I was a huge supporter and very positive about the whole thing in May 2006. It was one of the most exciting times if not THE most exciting time ever for myself as a music fan. Thanks for runing that Axl. Job well done.

Haha! Don't get me wrong Ribiero is a weasle and I don't care how many points he scores I'm glad the Habs shipped him out for basically nothing. He's a dick but Osgood is a joke. What a  loser. You see the way he went down like he was shot. Pathetic. Ribiero is a douche for doing what he did but he hit Osgood squarely in the chest pads. Fuck! Tenders take 95-100 MPH shots off the chest all the time and barely flinch. Osgood is a diving weasle. Brutal.  Riberio is brutal too though.

no i know...i feel for the guy though...he wasted his whole career on a shit team, and now that they are turning the corner his career is over

i dunno how good a coach roy will be...and as for halak/price battle...depends how fragile price's mental state is..some guys you need to push others ya cant

nah I think Price's mental game is what's gonna make him great. He's been rattled a few times but from what I've always heard the Habs organization is really impressed with his demeanor.  You gotta take into consideration that playing goal for the Habs is likelyt eh most pressure fileld position in all of sports except mayeb QB for the Cowboys. At 20 years old Price did an amaizng job. He faltered a bit nt eh playoffs but now he knwos. he'll be even better next year.

I feel bad for Kolzig too. It definately sucks for him. I always wonderd why he stayed there instead of moving to a  team with even a slight hope. Like the Oilers or Canucks or whoever.

As for Roy I think he's probably a  really good coach minus some antics,  but who knows what he'd be like at the NHL level. he's kinda burdend with a built in "paparazzi"  and that might be a distraction. I mean even Gretzky wasn't as hyped a coach as Roy would be. Tough to tell how it would play out with Roy behind the bench.  I have no doubt he'd be a wicked GM in the league. the thing with Roy is you know you'd have a guy who's hell bent on winning. That's a  positive.

pretty shitty way to treat him though...he bled for that team and even wantede to stay there during the worst of times..then things look up and they turn their back on him...pretty shitty IMO

What can you do though Neemo? Of all the starting goalies this year I believe Kolzig had the worst G.A.A. and the worst save %. You can't do favors for goalies the way you can for players. I mean you can keep a player in your lineuyp and ask them to change their role and adapt their game but what can you ask a  goalie to do besides stop the puck?  If you're not stopping the puck you don't play no matter who you are. It's not a slap in the face, it was just necessity.

Colorado fired Quenneville... strange decision, he's a great coach.  Toronto fired Maurice also, and while you can't blame him for the mismanagement in Toronto, GMs like to hire their own coaches so he'd likely be out when they hire someone permanently anyway.  And it looks like Fabian Brunnstrom is going to be a Dallas Star.  He's been hyped so much and I really don't see what the big deal is.  I'd like to see what he can do in the NHL.  Finally, Kolzig is done in Washington.  No word on if he'll retire, but he doesn't want to play for the Caps next year.

Hmmmm... Patrick Roy behind the Avalanche bench??

Kolzig might be a nice fit as a backup in Montreal if the Habs could get a  good deal for Halak. I'm worried if Halak doesnt' start getting some playing time he's gonna want out or just go back to Russia and we'll end up getting nothing for him.  In all honesty he's good enough to get a  shot at number one soemwhere in the league, if not in Montreal.  I don't now what's better. Halak and Price fighting for the job or Price getting the job and having a  guy like Kolzig there backing up.

#3627 Re: Guns N' Roses » finally a decent straight forward comment regarding CD » 893 weeks ago

It's simple really. The album is NOT finished.  There's no fucking way. This thing is being treated like some top secret advanced nuclear technology and if it falls into the wrong hands the world goes to shit. My god! The album is finished? Why should we believe that bullshit. Just because they say so? they've said this shit before. Gimme a break. Don't hold  your breath. My money(all of it haha) says the album is NOT finished.  they arent' negotiating either. Thats' fucking bullshit. There's NO WAY any type of circusmatnecs would take them this damn long to negotiate. It's all smoke screens and it's all a bunch of bs to cover the fact that the album isn't done. In fact there was likely never intention of releaseing anything period.   There's never been any official statement cause they have nothing to say and  if they came out and said that it'd piss the fans off and if they came out and made some bullshit official statement like Axl's pathetic letter in December 2007 the fans would bail on him so fast when they find out they flat out lied to our faces again. hahha. they either lie or tell the truth or stay basically quite. Quite seems to be THEIR best option.  And why anyone would believe anything from Axl's mouth is beyond me. The guy's about as legit as O.J. Simpson when it comes to telling the truth. As for Merck, Beta, Mysteron, Jarmo, the Label, bandmembers, former bandmembers, Del, Baz or whoever else,  they all know fuck all as well. the whole thing has become the biggest joke in rock. Scartch that. Its;' the biggest joke in entertainment period.  It's been the biggest joke since the 2002 tour blew up.  Untill that cd is on the shelves nothing we hear one way or another holds any merrit whatsoever.

the only way this album makes any money or for a tour to be succesful is if you know who records guitar parts and tours with the band. Sorry to beat a dead horse but it's true.  Axl's vision of Gn'R is dead int eh water and nothing from this era will ever see the light of day.  Fuck! Axl has basically wasted the most promising career in music history. Good job douche!

The hooking and holding / clutch and grab stuff I can see letting go. The penalty against the Stars was weak but San Jose got caught on a  blatant trip. What can ya do? You gotta call that.   As for the "high stick" by Thornton on Morrow, that's a  joke and I can't believe they even harped on that last night. It was in fact Morrow who was hooking Thornton down and as Thornton was falling his stick came up and cliped Morrow. If anything it was Morrow's fault.  That was a  good non call by the refs last night.  I thought the refs were pretty consistent in overtime except the call on Grossman.  the call that eneded up putting the  Stars on the powerpay had to be called though. It as way too clear cut. Everyone saw it and if they didnt' call that they'd have been fucked.  the refs did a great job I think in lettting the players decide the game. they went 70 minutes without a penalty called at one point last night. Thats' pretty good.

#3629 Re: The Garden » The NHL 2007-08 Season Thread » 894 weeks ago

That tripping callw asa legit call though Neemo. That was an unbelievable game though. I had to work at 1:30 am so I was a little bit pissed but it was so good I couldn't go to bed. Then once you get to that triple OT mark you can't walk away cause you're watching potential history in the making haha.

I can't believe I went 0 for 4 in the last round. I'm an idiot.  Anyways....

Stars in 7
Penguins in 6

Having said that: Let's Go Flyers!!!! yeah I said it. I'm cheering for Philly now.

#3630 Re: The Sunset Strip » The BATMAN Thread » 894 weeks ago

I can't help but laugh at some of the coversation in here. Batman Begins owns the orginal Batman as well as every other Batman movie made. It's not even close. You can count me as one person who thought Scarecrow in Batman Begins was amaizng and count me as one who can easily tell from a 3 minute trailor that Heath's Joker will blow Nicholson's Joker outta the water.

I saw the Burton Batmans and thought whatever. I saw Batman Begins and have been anticipating The Dark Knight since I saw the Joker card at the end of Batman Begins. This is my most anticiopated movie by far in years. This coming from a guy who isn't necessarily  a  super hero fan.
