#3651 Re: The Garden » The NHL 2007-08 Season Thread » 897 weeks ago

I know I'm late with predictions but here's what I picked before they started:

East:
Montreal in 5(now I'm thinking 3, Boston will fold)
Pittsburgh in 6
Washington in 6
Rangers in 5

West:
Detroit in 5
San Jose in 6
Colorado in 6
Anahiem in 5

Looks as thogh I fucked up big tiem on the Ducks vs Stars series but we'll see. The Avalanche vs Wild series has been the best series by far up to this point.

GO HABS GO!!!:mosh:

The Wings will get stomped by San Jose or Anaheim in my opinion and don't count out Colorado. 8 wins 1 loss with Forsberg in the lineup. If he can stay healthy they're a real threat. The dude's got like 11 points in his last 5 games. He's unreal.  Plus Theodore's resurgence has been insane.

Go Habs Go.

#3655 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » Velvet Revolver "fires" Scott Weiland » 899 weeks ago

I'm glad. I really dig STP but Scott in my opinion never worked with these guys. Both albums are average in my personal opinion and I always expected so much more form them. I really think it was bad chemistry between Scott and the band right formt he get go that limited their ability to blow us away with amazing records.  I look forward to seeing who they get for a singer but PLEASE GOD not Sebastian Bach!  It would  simply reak as a gimmick and make them come across as stale and dated which they are clearly not. Would it produce great music? In my opinion no. I just see a Velvet Revolver that includes Sebastian Bach,  bombing.

I heard Axl is doing fuck all these days. Maybe they should give him a  call.

#3656 Re: The Garden » The Wrestling thread » 900 weeks ago

Man I hope HBK retires Flair. His time was up 15 years ago. If HBK has to job to another has been(Hogan) than I might just stop watching Wrestling for good. If Cena wins the title I'm gonna puke.  Triple H needs to be champ. It's not working with Orton and Cena blows donkey balls with his whole lame holier than thou  I've got integrity and class gimmick.  Taker better win.  Umaga and Batista? has there ever been a  more "who cares" WM match? Hopefully Jericho wins the money in the bank.

And as much as I love Maria I thought her playboy photos were average. She needs to  tone down the glam. I mean she was so sexy and cute when she broke in with her light brown hair and very little makeup but now she's a "Diva" and her hair is all coloured and she wears shitloads of makeup and she's way too tanned. Ladies take note: fake n' bake tans are not sexy. She didn't smile once in her playboy photos but instead had that skank look in all the pictures. Too bad.

So I was hired to dj in this sleazy little pub last weekend. Really nice for a change to be honest. I knew I was gonna get to play alot of rock instead of the typical club music I normally play. I knew this would be a  perfect opportunity to test Better on possibly a  more Gn'R freindly crowd.  I figured this out about ten minutes into my night when I played My Michelle and then had it confirmed about an hour later when I played You're Crazy(Lies version) and saw many people singing along to it. I thought cool and decided right there to give Better a shot. I set the mood with Megadeath's Symphony of Destruction and then     Better took center stage to a surprisingly good reaction. It almost made me wonder if people had heard it before casue yes there were peple dancing to it. Alot. haha. I was legitimately surprised.  It wasn't a danceing crowd really so it was few and far between songs where people did dance but Better was one of them. I didnt' introduce the song or say who it was I simply played it and it got a great reaction.

So what have we learned? Better in a  club gets a very lack luster reaction. Better in a  scuzzy pub gets a very positive reaction. Shocking? Probably not 16

The Huet trade made almost perfect sense. Ever since the start of the season when Gainey over ruled Carbo to keep Price you knew the writting was on the wall for Huet. Montreal was never gonna resign Huet with management basically feeling Price is ready now. Montreal has been dealing with this lame situation of a goaltending tandem since basically Roy left and it's time to go with a legit number one. Huet was great for us but he wasn't the guy the Habs wanted to move forward with.  People will argue how can you trade your number one and go into the playoffs with a  rookie goaltender. Well first off Huet isn't some cagey playoff vetran. He's got a total of 6 games under his belt with a  2-4 record. Hardly the type of playoff experience to brag about. Basically he's no more experienced than Price. In fact there's a  real good chance that after this season Price will have more playoff experience than Huet.  Secondly Price has led his teams to World Junior Championships and AHL championships. He may in fact be more experienced with pressure situations than Huet. A Cup in 2008 was never the real goal for the Habs. 2009 is a different story. The Habs will do everything they can to win it next year mark my words and Price is the guy they feel will take them there. What better way to prepare than have Price be your guy down the stretch this year and get some playoff experience as well. That way he's not a fresh faced rookie starting goalie.  And dont' forget it's not liek we caleld up some schumck to be Price's backup. We all saw how capable Halak was last year and for the secodn straight year halak has been the AHL's best goaltender.  Bob had his bases coverd. To be honest the trade was a really smart move for the development of the team and Price. The only curious thing is they only got a 2nd round pick for Huet. Other than that the move was smart cause we got something for Huet before he walked and it wasn't as surprising as many made it out to be.

Wow. That was a mouth full

Holy fucking shit!!! Did you see that game tonight Backslash? My god. The biggest comeback in Montreal's history. Down 5-0 and they beat the Rangers 6-5. That could in all honesty be the defining moment for this team. Holy crap.  I dont think there's been a comeback that great in over and decade by any team. Unbelievable.  I watched the whole thing from start to finish. I never turned it off once. Man was I pissed though watching a 5-0 blowout, in french mind you. I was livid that Montreal could be doing so well and then not show up at all, at home but then they scored and I was happy they didn't get shutout. Then they scored again and I was like "Oh that's nice" then the 3rd goal and I perked up and 9 seconds later they scored again and I'm going bonkers. They tied it up and should've won it actually in regulation and then overtime as well as the Rangers were just gassed and Montreal was playing on some level I've never seen them play before. Then Koivu fires one home in the shootout and Huet does the rest.  Holy crap! No exageration but I have never seen a game like that before in my life. There's no words but as you can tell this is my biggest post in nearly 7 months hahaha!

This whole this just gets more and more fucked up. This girl has no doubt brought alot of this on herself but I'll be honest when I say I feel bad for her. I'm trying to think of a celebrity ever who's had so much attention. The way media and the paparazzi are these days it's just insane and I don't think anyone is under the microscope more than her. I honestly feel sorry for her, knowing she had everything. the money, the fame the looks, an unreal pop music career. She seemed like a nice person in the begining.  Now to see the paparazzi and media in general seemingly pushing and hoping for a Britney suicide story kinda makes me sick. It's almost like she's being treated like a lab rat.  Part of me thinks just leave her alone already and the other part of me thinks she's a dumb bitch. If she didn't want this attention, she wouldn't have it. She brings so much of it on herself. But now maybe she is being controlled and manipulated, threatened and drugged.  Some of you will think I'm an idiot but in this case I really hope someday Britney can make a proper comeback and get her feet on the ground, her head outta the clouds and basically just get shit straight with her life.  Something about this Britney Spears saga just seems sad to me.
