Yeah, that story was not exactly right.
And I wouldn't say 'hoarders', more like I think people are just trying to play by the rules.
#362 Re: Guns N' Roses » Slash - Crucify The Dead » 793 weeks ago
It's about a girl obviously, but the jury is out on the Stephanie thing...it's prolly about some chick he met. People act like Axl was lost over this Stephanie thing..like some kind of victim that lost his love and could never love again. Pffff...he prolly found some other chick at least within a year, but simply kept it away from the media.
I think people go overboard with that, but there was plenty of stuff supporting those kinds of statements that didn't come from fandom, but people who were at times close to him or heard the Chinese material.
He said Hollywood Blvd / (or Sunset strip?) was an image he had writing the song, hence part of the name change and that line in the song, so it could have been Erin or Stephanie plus many other people he saw get caught up in something and washed away.
But the intent is a woman. No way is this top hat or band.
Axl wasn't always subtle, but in that same song he does a list that includes yeast infections, bleach blond, silocone, and collagen. So... that outweighs that. What a list of imagery. Like an inventory of contempt. That's pretty interesting lyrically.

metallex78: I'm not sure The Blues demo was much different than what we got, I think people were talking about The Blues as performed live in 2001 and 2002. It was a bit more upbeat, started with guitar earlier, especially at Rio in 2001.

Totally skip Think About You and then skip Anything Goes after the intro.

Whatever happened, it was lame to boast about it on twitter.
Yeah, but him and thousands of others do it. Sign of the times.

Bumbleslash, Slashba, 4Tus, and Tommy, ... I'd love to hear that!

I'd like to have heard some more Duff songs with Axl.
Really enjoyed his last solo album.
I remember as a noob fan, putting in UYI I and II... "whoa! This band has like 3 singer/songwriters!"
#368 Re: The Sunset Strip » Ozzy Osbourne New Album Title Revealed » 794 weeks ago
Hard to get excited about Ozzy after reading about the guys who wrote his first 2 solo albums get shafted and their parts re-recorded. That and the Black Sabbath trademark stuff...
But Ozzmosis is still one of my top favorite albums.

I'd buy a ticket to go see that.
I wonder how much Duff would be 'dismissed' by fans/critics if he had remained in the lineup as someone who "didn't really count" when someone would talk about it "only being Axl and 1 other original member".
It's the famous "when's it no longer GNR?" question.
Anyway.
I'd definately have bought a ticket to see that band! (just like the current one)

monkeychow wrote:^ Where's this comming from about him only posting when he has something to sell? Seems to me he has a strong track record of interacting with fans on facebook, and his own website in chats and stuff.
I think he seems like a good guy overall, while I don't like stars getting people fired over rudeness, I think we really need to have seen what was said to him first to provoke that responce.
He's posted at least a few messages at mygnr and htgth that start with him proclaiming his love for the fans. Then the next few sentences are him going on about his rad new clothing line, guitars, equipment, etc that all GN'R fans should go check out at his merch site asap.
What I like about DJ is he's a real go getter and he's hungry.
That's something to admire.
