Me too and I'll up the ante....

If he brought terrible lyrics to songs like Oklahoma, Soul Monster, and Quick Song, I'd rather consider them complete as instrumentals as the band is on fire.

I always said Riad would work better as an instrumental and probably should've been released as one.

A further dive into the vault reinforces this.

It can't be easy for a singer, especially one so talented yet such a spotty work ethic, having to walk into a studio with finished tracks sitting there waiting for his final ingredient.

No offense to him but he may not have had it in him to complete some of them.

I think it was probably far more comfortable to twiddle the knobs every night with a cigar and a bottle of brandy rather than lay down vocal tracks. We all do it, rather than focus on what really matters we veer towards the ‘easy’ jobs. Axl needs to read ‘eat the frog’

I was watching a documentary about Mark Robson the other day. Have heard his name but never really knew much about him. Amongst his favourite rock bands are GNR, LED Zep, Nine Inch Nails. He’s super talented and recently produced the latest Queens of the Stone Age album. Of course he’s also famous for producing Lady Gaga, Amy Winehouse and dj’ing.

After hearing the leaks and seeing this documentary and his incredible talent I’d love to see what he could do with GNR either for a new album or bringing Acls three album vision to reality.

Who else does everyone think here would be the right person to produce GNR?

I’m getting the impression that many people have different interpretations of ‘top shelf’. That’s what I like about these discs, lots of variety!

Just started listening to RM2 properly

Sorry has a Led Zep 'No Quarter' vibe to me. Love the crazy drums swell

Vindicates to a degree but then I look at how many tracks are missing vocals and it leaves you questioning who was putting in the effort (of course vocals may have been added since the leaks).

Agree with you James about not having Slash and Duff re-record - maybe take Hardschool and Oklahoma and leave the rest where it is - for a future ‘nugnr’ reunion :-)

not only do we get leaks we get the ‘whodunnit’ angle as well. Awesome

i dunno, listening to some of these leaks makes me think that I'd prefer if 'GNR' (Axl/Slash/Duff) could pick a couple of suitable songs and then make the rest from scratch.

this would give Axl the opportunity to release the three CD album triology as intended, give credit where due for the song writing and then maybe even play some concerts with the old / nu band.
