#381 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » SLASH Planning Solo Album » 919 weeks ago

I think this is a better option for Slash than going to the third VR record.  Clearly there is too much bullshit behind the scenes going on with that band and they just aren't clicking together in the studio.  Hopefully he leaves Matt Sorum and Scott Weiland off this album and goes back to his roots.   I wasn't into either Snakepit, but I'm looking forward to this.

I wouldn't advertise 3 out of 5 on the album cover as a marketing tool, but that's probably a fair rating.  Who thinks it would be 2 or 2 1/2 out of 5 minus Axl?

I wondered about that myself. I'd have to hear the whole album to really decide if I think Axl's involvement upped the rating.

theres some great tracks on the CD without Axl.  You Don't Understand, American Metalhead, By Your Side in particular stand out for me.

So this is what Robin did in 2003, alongside Paz Lenchantin's sister no less.

LedZAerial is a physical, sensual, thrilling journey through the psychedelic and elaborate music of Led Zeppelin. [...] Ask for a Power Point presentation, DVD or video. - Rajiworld

Damn. I'd be interested in getting a DVD of the show.

no offense....but more cover songs hmm he should release some orig stuff sad

Wouldn't be much of a tribute band if they weren't playing Lep Zep stuff... tongue

My point is that any guitarist can play cover tunes...a musician writes his own...I'd like to see what Robin has to offer...unless all he has to offer is to play someone elses material.

not meant to be a bash...just show me what you can do boss...ya know what i'm sayin'?

my point is that in the 10 years i've know of his existance, i have less than an album worth of Robin's own material to listen to

this was when he was playing for cirque de solei.

I've been listening to the streaming version of the album for the last 3 or 4 days almost non-stop while i work.   i think its a great rock album.   Album of the year?  Thats a toss up between this and the Smashing Pumpkins album.   No, its not the album of the century like that article stated, but its got some good rock and some of it is not to different than classic AFD GnR.

#386 Re: Guns N' Roses » Even Axl is sick of Baz's mouth » 919 weeks ago

Ok but to criticize it for sounding 80s/90s when you like other stuff that people are making that sounds like its from that same era is a bit hypocritical.   to not like the songs because you think they suck are one thing.

As we can see the interest for Guns N' Roses is at it's lowest since early 2004, but CD on the other hand is up (although on a decreasing trajectory at the moment). This is probably due to people hearing actual music from the album and liking it.

On the other hand, google activity is probably up big time in the same period, so the actual numbers could in fact be way lower.

Too bad these don't go back to 00/01.

for the CD one I think its

A. RIR 4 cancellation (or maybe GH)

B. nothing

C. first pics of Axl in over 3 years and then the leaks

D. Hammerstein

E. Axl's letter/L.A. shows

F. March 6th

no i'm just saying its kinda weird you are criticiziing something for sounding to 80s/90s, but you thought that one song by Steven (which was apparently so forgetable i can't find it ANYWHERE) was "mind-blowing".

but you are right, i dont want to talk about ex-members.. i just find it odd that you find songs that sound like bad LA Guns or Ratt songs mindblowing but when its Baz's stuff its dated and a let down.    Baz himself would probably admit his style is late 80s/early 90s.  And i thought that was kinda your thing?

Aside from the fact that it is no longer the lates 80's early 90's, his lyrics are pretty cheesy, and some of the songs seem to have no chorus or melody.

bba

this is the same guy who was blowing his load when Steven Adler put up that stupid song on his myspace a while back... and that was even worse than any of these songs.
