If you guys haven't, check out the re-release of Elvis On Tour that just came out.

A little late, but better than never! Finally on dvd!

Thanks for posting that. Gives me chills everytime I hear that. Funny, cause that is a song that I would never pay any attention to, if not for Elvis. When Elvis sings it, it becomes cool. Forty years later he still defines "cool".

"You've Lost that Loving Feeling" and "Bridge Over Troubled Water" have always seemed like cousins to me, at least from Elvis' versions. Those are two VERY powerful songs, and fit the King's voice perfectly.

No one, and I mean NO ONE could  ever come close to nailing "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" like the King could.

Got my pre-order in. My VHS copy I had in the 80s and 90s, well lets just say its wore out.

Cant wait to see Elvis come out to the tune of "See See Rider". Love that part! Then "Poke Salad Annie"! Woo hoo!!!

Thats a tough one... Went "Outshine", but tomorrow could be "Black". Both great songs.

NYG Clinton had a Republican congress since 94, but I think Bush knew the country was disliking him so he kindof accepted being a lame duck. Still, it's hard to discount an entire 2 years of a Presidency, that's 25%.

And only then did Clinton move from the left towards the center. And that is when he governed successfully.

Bush was different. He had both houses of Congress under Democratic control, AND he was a lame duck. Thats a recipe for disaster.

I am with you on the music too. Its not just the lyrics with me. I can listen to a guitar solo, and man it'll give me chills. I feel music too. If I wasn't a music guy, I wouldn't dig Buckethead either.

But its not just lyrics in general. Axl is special. He is different. His lyrics, and the way he delivers them, he is truly "one in a million".

I think Bush will be remembered much more favorably than he was when he left office. And you can pretty much forget him being able to get anything done in his last two years in office, considering the fact that both houses of Congress at that time were controlled by the Democrats. I think he made strong decisions that weren't always popular, but in the end will be looked at as being correct.

Also have to factor in WHO will write the history books...

But he's no Reagan.

Inspiring?  Really?  18

I've always thought they were pretty pessimistic and depressing for the most part (with exceptions certainly), but I'm admittedly not a lyrics guy.  Maybe I just don't get Axl, or maybe I've never been downtrodden enough.

Yeah, every day his music and words inspires me keep my head up and not give up when people and life itself is getting me down and the weight of the world is on my back and I just wanna throw myself off a bridge. Theres a strong sense of solidarity I have with GNR's music that no other band has ever came close to, and I often find comfort in Axl's words.
I'm suprised this comes as a shock to you, especially as your reading it on a Guns N'Roses fan forum roll

Just ignore it man. I still scratch my head at some of his comments on a GN'R board. And I'm with you on Axl's lyrics. 5
