I agree that I'd prefer to hear songs like Soulmonster, Berlin, The General etc. as they originally sounded, but I'll take a Slash & Duff version over never hearing them.
I want to hear them with the band that wrote the songs. Duff and Slash just ruin the songs. They should be writing their own songs with Axl and Axl should just release the CD era stuff as a solo box set.

It is so sad to see a band that is loved by so many, that has so many good songs in such a small catalogue of music, continue to not release music. Yes we got Absurd and Hard Skool, both of which I really like, but it seems like that’s it? Every 6 months we get a member saying some bullshit about new music and get nothing. We all know there are songs done, songs redone, and songs that probably got finished that we have no clue about.
Ok so we didn’t get an album, so far no songs either. What really makes this band a joke though? THE FUCKING MANAGEMENT! No updates on the box set, no updates on music, no interaction at all with the fans. A complete and utter joke.If the reason we can’t get new music is because of Slash and Duff re joining and the ‘instability’ of trying to write/record/re-record new music and RELEASE it… than I am 100% with Chris Pittman and say fuck the oldies band. Release CD2 as it was or continue on with your boring nostalgia bullshit tour going on it’s 6th year?? Even the band looks bored to death on stage! Maybe just let us fans in on what’s going on..’hey GnR fans, we are trying to get an album out mid September 2022!’ ‘There are delays on the box set, we don’t know when that will be coming but you can expect a digital release by…’ something, anything, we as fans are sick of being ignored.

Serious question: If the band does in fact release more previously unissued ChiDem-era tracks, we can assume at this point that the vocals are not new, just recycled. Think 'The General" with Duff and Slash.
Does that increase, decrease, or have no bearing on whether or not we might get leaks of the original recordings with Bucket and company?

I doubt we ever get any new vocal tracks out of old Axl.Have you heard his voice the last couple years.
He can't even sing Hard Skool live, it sounds like trash.
And I think one the main reasons they picked Absurd as the B side, and that the song debuted live was because it was easy for Axl to sing.The day Hard Skool came GnR ignored it in their Live Set , and didn't even mention it.
It's pre-recorded Chin Dem demos til the end.
Axl sounded fine on the rock the rock track and those were new vocals.
Axl could have done new vocals for any gnr track if he wasnt so lazy.
Imagine his studio vocals during the time of the AC DC shows.
Also it doesnt matter how Axl sounds live, in the studio he can sing line by line until he gets it right, where as with hard school live he has to sing it in one take.

DJ is such a tool, funny how when GNR did the VMAs in 2002 there were clips before the band played of people asking if BH was there.
DJ is the one who made the band less cool since he was such a poser.

Proper Quick Song needs to come out. It will be a shame it won’t have bucket but the song has potential to be a really good GnR track.
No really an issue since someone will just strip out the vocals and put it on the old version.

But after we’ve gotten Slash playing Silkworms with Absurd, I’d say anything is on the table now.
It was also still being soundchecked in 2011, was on the setlist as an alt in 2018 and lyrics for it were flashing on screen during YCBM on this last tour. Definitely seems like it's still kicking around and could come back.
The funniest thing about those oh my god lyrics on screen is they were not even the correct lyrics lol
