I was gonna watch it this week but I'm still house-sitting for someone so had to put it off.

Ill probably watch it on Monday.

I'm still really hyped for this. That Oppenheimer movie looks amazing too.

I seen both on release.

MI was one of the better films in the series. Typical Cruise, better than standard Holywood blockbuster fare. Not a classic, but it's more than decent.

Oppenheimer however for me is probably the front runner for best picture at the oscars.

Loved it. Very much the kind of thing you'd except to get nominated, only with the scale/tension/direction of Nolans bigger films. In other words this is a film where people mostly speak/argue for 3 hours, but it's gripping. Definitely see it.

Casual audiences might prefer a The Dark Knight, Interstellar or even a Dunkirk, but this is objectively a better crafted film for cinema fans.

Hi

I was wondering if any of you guys has ever tried reiki/tapping/shiatsu, acupuncture, reflexology, crystal healing or any other sort of alternative therapy?

If you have, did you get the results you were hoping for? And if you haven't, how do you feel about such therapies?

Just curious.

I've tried acupuncture a few times, due to having a history of bad headaches.

Not sure if I noticed any difference on the days in question (itself is relatively painless). However the next day I did just happen the worst headaches I had in years after a few of those sessions.

Maybe it was a coincidence, maybe not.

Maybe it was a coincidence. Perhaps you were stressed over something? Have you ever tried to link your headaches to certain situations (work/family/upcoming event...)? Sometimes there is a pattern.
I tried acupuncture only once and didn't really like it and didn't see any results, to be honest. It was some old Chinese guy in the Bristol area. I am not sure he understood exactly what my problem was. I don't think I will ever try it again. I do acupressure instead. You press your fingers on certain points of your body. You don't need any needles, or anyone, just your fingers. It works great on digestive issues, stress and allergies for instance. I think I used it for a bad headache once.

When I got acupuncture I got it from a physiotherapist (treatment for a rare condition that causes severe migraines) on the nhs who explained that the results are different for some people.

It was not explained as some sort of Chinese mystical art, just that your putting needles in multiple pressure points.

Anyway like I said it, got worse after those couple of attempts (again maybe it meant nothing).

Oh there was definitely more to that leak.

Hell...the Chairman even admitted this with the "more rasp" line.

There was also other trades going on at the same time.

We all know who the Chairman is right? It's fairly common knowledge who was writing those poems and who was supplying the tracks.

Are we allowed to say in public?

Based on who it is - I'd be surprised if they were holding on to more material given their pre-2019 track record.

You mean the guy who leaked the original (and let's face it is the source for almost everything leaked since) Catcher/There Was A Time/I.R.S. versions almost 20 years ago that sound like just lower quality rips than the versions he leaked in 19?

I'm ultra skeptical he didn't have much of the rick stuff beforehand. I think you guys have always been way too believing in dark, even through those silly games/riddles.

I wouldn't be shocked if the reason dark leaked that stuff, is the fact that alot of it was gonna trickle out anyway.

Like many of you I'm glad we got to hear the music anyway, I just do not believe someone who has 2 decades worth of history playing games on the Internet is just conviently telling the true story on the thing we just happen to care about the most.

Side bar - atlas shrugged (with may) was 1 of the demos played to those at Classic Rock with the leaks in the mid 2006s. So I think that 99 (00 mix) was probably in circulation privately and somehow just not spread publicly.

#35 Re: The Sunset Strip » Most Recent Movie You've Seen » 103 weeks ago

I think calling him a tragic character is hyperbole.

Personally I thought it was meh. No where near as bad as the typical pre-type reviews from usual corners of the Internet, but also not particularly great or compelling.

It is fine for what it is if you're not expecting something like Raiders of the Lost Ark.

I seen it last week on release. Also seen Asteroid City, which I thought was alot better for what it was supposed to be.

Just my taste though.

Standardized generic list.

In my opinion of the 25 that I've heard (more than several), In Rainbows is the best.

James wrote:

Not around for Silkworms and Hard School?!? These two songs are from earlier in the timeline?

I think the implication actually was that they happened later. There's a Freese interview on the same channel, where he says he didn't remember any of Hard Skool when he heard it either. However he also said, they done so many tracks that he might just not remember it.

Also Chinese Democracy's working title was "Smells Like Josh's Spirit" at first.

James wrote:

As much as I liked the early Chinese lineups, I'd love to see the alternate timeline with May as the lead guitarist.

It almost guarantees an album release of some sort fairly quickly.

I think that was the idea from the label. They thought May being involved would inspire Axl to write faster. However it would have re-created the Axl/Slash dynamic.... which Axl clearly didn't want.

Personally I think it says alot about Axl even in 99, if Bryan May of Queen was the more interested party. Clearly Axl still had that star appeal and expectations.

Beavan also didn't remember much about Oklahoma or wasn't sure. He did say though they worked on lots of songs, but his favourites were on the album.

So we need a proper Roy Thomas Baker interview at some point.

He wasn't around for Silkworms or Hardschool, he also basically implies that May wanted to join the band originally.
