Thus, I believe 'label holding the release' is a very strong implication that CD (if not its successors) is done. After delivering the master, Axl has over a decade's worth of answers to be given to the label. His March 6th letter, while true to his intentions at the time, was certainly overoptimistic in this respect, as any regular relations with the label had been severed in early 2004, and Merck and co. were in the process of rebuilding the bridges.
The only question which was valid for 2007 was when the label would start hindering the release. Now, it's happening and thus I believe the record is done.
If I was to speculate, I'd probably come to a similar answer. Mysteron says its done and in the label's hands (and his connection wit the band is legit or Jarmo would have shut him down). They cancelled some dates at the beginning of the year to finish up recording, then a statement from Del James said the album was being mixed (i believe this was in Feb), so it totally makes sense.
I guess we'll find out when its time.

dude i'd love to hear anything that came out of GNR during "the dark years". Theres gotta be a vault stacked full of tapes. Except for the ones Axl ran over.

All he said basically was Axl was fun to party with... whats wrong with that? Axl is singing on his album, he's friends with Axl, they toured together for 1 1/2 years, the interviewers are going to ask him about Axl.
and whoever is saying Baz is gay, I'd be willing to bet he's gotten more vag in his day then all the males on this board combined.

I'm not interested in this record, but if Best Buy has it on sale I will probably buy it. They have decent prices on cds sometimes. I have seen sales where cds are like 8 bucks.
It'll wind up being like Libertad where I just buy it and then toss it in my closet without even bothering with it. I think Libertad is the first album I bought where I had zero intention of opening it and listening to it. It was bought for support purposes only.
did you hear the full album stream on the web? this album is a lot better than Libertad, it almost rivals the first 2 Skid Row albums.

Axl didn't even know what he wanted to do. He wanted to do a Pearl Jam-type album, then an all acoustic album, then a piano album, then a NIN album. He didn't have his aim, just wanted to control everything. Even Zakk Wylde said that whaever was trendy back then, Axl wanted to do that. BTW the 'wanting to change' attitude caused him to fire Gilby without the others agreeing and take in his childhood friend, who hadn't played on stage before. A bedroom guitarist in GN'R...right
