Since Beta is involved in this, it seems like the "official" forum would get the scoop on this, not Classic Rock. I guess its not really much of a scoop but she does post there.
well, it appears that Classic Rock are able to suck Axl's c*** better than the "official" forum....with the album of the year feature...and pretty much every second issue praising mr. rose....they've set themselves up nicely to be the chosen ones for the big reveal....

you know....one person i feel for the most in this whole VR drama is Scott....i don't think even he was aware of the gnr-related mess he would get pulled into....and all he ever wanted was to get fucked up on drugs and play rock n' roll...if he mentioned axl or gnr in any interviews, he was simply echoing the feelings of his bandmates.....like a loyal band colleague/friend would....
He stood up for Slash when not even he believed the "house visit" story...and climbed into Axl to show his support for his leading axeman....
and despite all this...it is blatantly clear and obvious that Slash would dump them all in the gutter in a heartbeat if uncle Axl was to pick up the phone....
he's a genius guitar player....its debatable if there is anyone better out there.....but he can be a real cunt sometimes....

this sucks....the rules say that its only open to US citizens....and that the winner has to arrange his/her own transport to and from the airport....tehee...so watch your ass land in amsterdam....and then you have to make a mission to the hotel (whatever that may be)....and to the venue....and it looks like they're only giving away general admission tickets to the concert also....
i was keen to enter...but it really isn't worth the effort....

last time gnr played together was in 93....so 15 yrs, not 20....
#415 Re: Guns N' Roses » contracted artwork in 2002 » 925 weeks ago
definitely looks like the same set of images was used....
#416 Re: Guns N' Roses » contracted artwork in 2002 » 925 weeks ago
his client list doesn't include anyone who may be related to the music industry.....reading his biog, and looking at the work itself, i'd guess he's friends with a promoter of some sorts, and perhaps they commissioned him to do some work for some advertising for whichever concerts were still coming up....obviously didn't happen....he also seems Canadian, and a small time player....
i doubt gnr or interscope would use a freelancer for any of their work....i'd guess someone in the LA or NY area would get preferential treatment, and definitely a registered business, as opposed to a guy working from home....
he also says he was contracted to develop "concepts"....very often you get asked to come up with an idea, which you get paid for, and then they take it elsewhere for finishing and further integration.....so maybe the 02 artwork that we know originated from this dude....
who knows....i'm tempted to drop him a mail and ask him....

he he, like he said, i think the "02 meltdown" was the reason why none of it got used....

the way things are going, they'll end up selling their own cd's at shows around the world...that will be the only way you'd be able to buy it....tehee....lets go back to 1986....

not sure if this is new or not, but i found this whilst browsing:
In 2002 a newly reformed Guns N' Roses started their "Chinese Democracy" tour of the US and beyond... unfortunately they self-destructed 3 concerts into the tour. But right before this meltdown JT was contracted to do t-shirt and promotional posters concepts.
artwork available on the link below.
not sure if this guy was given any material to work from, or if he designed all this crap from scratch...wouldn't mind finding out what his brief was for this....and how he got the gig in the first place...

what if you video idea revolves around actually filming the band?
are you supposed to just submit treatments, or execute a video without any band images in it?
