What kinds of shortages are people seeing?

I am noticing some bare shelves at the grocery stores: Dairy, some cuts of meat, bottled water in larger sizes). Home improvement stores (Home Depot/Lowes) seem ok.

I saw that one in the theater. Fond memories of it.

The long "Chinese" intro worked as it was an opening track. And I loved everything about the arrangement of the first "Better" demo.

"Madagscar" is weird but seeing it live in 2002 the weirdness kind of helped make the song such a statement. I remember listening to it so attentively. Every snippet, contrasted against the music, pulled me in, trying to listen to the words and guess the source.

Looking back almost 20 years, that performance stands out among the highlights, and the one that most clearly said this was a new band with a new direction.

Why does he poke the guitarist and point upwards aroung 2:245? Is it a signal to wrap up the solo?

She's great, obviously!

Boars Head was always popular on the east coast . But as a kid I was scared of their logo! That pig looked like a killer!

Anyone notice the number of news stories lately about electricity?

Rolling blackouts in parts of China.

Complete blackouts in Lebanon.

And we are not even into Winter yet!

Wow...they actually included my Metallica Holy Grail.... Jason's original demo of My Friend of Misery that they took the intro for and tossed the rest...which pissed him off but he had to just sit there and take it.

The shitty way they treated him ("Jason Newkid"), so badly that he decided he would be happier leaving fucking Metallica took the band down many levels in my opinion.

When Cliff died there was such hope and support for them, that they'd forge on and God knows they did, largely thanks to Jason.

To have treated him like some unwanted stepchild was really fucked up.

#419 Re: The Sunset Strip » Pink Floyd - Live at Pompeii » 194 weeks ago

Before the Internet, when bootlegs were hard to come by and expensive, I'd sit by my radio when concerts were broadcast. That is how I first heard GNR's Paris gig, and this show from Pink Floyd. Clare Torrey (the female vocalist on Dark Side) sat in with them, as did the then-rising star saxophonist Candy Dulfer. Dave looks really cool here. In his rock star prime and clearly very happy.

A friend and I were just talking about PF earlier today, and how the music captures timeless feelings. I appreciate them more and more as the years wear on.

The first two albums are solid all the way through and even "All I Need" from the third record is very catchy. A classic Colin Hay vocal performance. I own all three on CD and need to dig them out. Thanks for the reminder.

It seemed like a real case of a massively talented bar band becoming instantly famous and not knowing how to cope.
