This woman's complaint is that she was treated in unfair proportion to her 'crime'. It's not a secret that some airport and customs official like to overstep their bounds, the stories are everywhere. I've encountered them myself, so I know this is a general problem.
A reasonable approach would be to just say "look, you extended your visa and because of that we can't accept you in this country. We're really sorry. Please come with us while we do a routine check."
Now we all know it takes a matter of minutes to check out if a person has the connections where this kind of treatment is acceptable. She could be held in an airport detention facility, be offered something to drink etc. You know, how normal people are supposed to be treated if they've fucked up a little.
But letting here wait around for hours, going through ridiculous interrogations, multiple times and being transported to something that looks like a maximum security facility with no practical possibility to contact anyone. That's the bullshit, and I call it fascism.
And do you deny that that you've claimed the Masons/Illuminati have destroyed our civilization multiple times?
I have never claimed such a thing. You're welcome to prove me wrong.
And even if I did, that has no relevance what so ever to this discussion.

Polluxlm, here in this country it is not a trade. While there were "trade in 2 cds for 1" deals, you could actually buy used cds here for 5 to 9 bucks.
I was referring to the trade of 2 tangible objects, compact disc and money (although I'm sure we can questions the tangibility of money ). Meaning you don't 'ruin' anything since the same shit is in circulation. With downloading however you inflate the market, making the toll on the record companies a lot more severe (which is great long term).
Look at it like this, you have a million records sold. At first trade that can in theory mean that another million gets to enjoy the same record without the record company making any additional revenue. With downloading however you can in principle only buy one record and spread it to just as many, most likely more.
It's clearly not the same thing when the effects differ in such a large degree.

Of course I have it on vinyl
It's German print though, so it's not worth much.

How was she not treated with respect?
You gotta be kidding...at least I hope so.
She was in violation of the law and was placed in restraints. I don't care if she felt embarassed. She was only in restraints when she was in a public area. This all of course assumes her story is 100% factual and she isn't distorting reality like a spoiled Paris Hilton seeking attention.
Then again, perhaps you're not.
That's a dishonest simplification of the situation.
The law is designed so all people are treated the same and don't receive special treatment based on appearance and status. Next time she will honor the visa the US gave her when she comes here on 1st class.
Well, she did receive 'special' treatment in that she was treated more like a terrorist than just another careless citizen. I'm sure you would be pissed too if you were treated like that for all your daily 'crimes'. You know, walking on red, speeding, taking a leak on the road.
I doubt she'll attempt another trip.
edit: you know what my last paragraph means. You have an obsession with stories that lack strong factual basis and rely heavily on circumstancial or "hidden" evidence. Some people who have that trait are known as schizophrenic. I'm not saying you are, but your beliefs and statements are often similar to those declared mentally unfit.
I know what you meant, that is why I called you out on it. I'm happy to have a constructive debate, but clearly you're more interested in projecting general opinions and low self esteem. If you ever have a change of heart I'm happy to oblige, but until then you can jolly fuck off.
^As for your second post, get a life dude.

I don't understand the question. I've bought all GN'R albums at least 3 times. I've been hanging on forums for 8 years looking for updates.
Yeah, I'll buy it alright

Bullshit.
What is?
This is a spoiled brat who ignored America's laws and thought there would be no repercussion.
I don't agree with the choice of words, but yeah.
While she probably posed no threat, you liberals wouls throw a fit if we focused on the only ethnicity to committ terrorist attacks.
Some probably would, whomever they are. I get it, you don't like liberals. What's your point?
Proper procedure was followed. She doesn't have a right to come to America. She wasn't beaten or tortured. Just because she chose to stay awake for 24 hours before coming here doesn't mean the US has to provide her with a place to sleep immediately.
That's the thing, that it's actually proper procedure. You don't see a problem with a tourist carrying a misdemeanor being treated like a hardened criminal?
I'm so fucking tired of people yelling fascist everytime someone who broke the law is detained. She wasn't tortured or harmed. The fucking morons at HTGTH are having a field day with this but are demonstrating their lack of basic reading comprehension and common sense.
Her treatment was in unfair proportion to her actions, imo. There's a reason the justice system doesn't just hand out the same penalty to everyone.
What should have customs done? Said "Hey, you broke your visa and disregarded the laws of our land, but FUCK IT! Welcome to America and feel free to violate our laws again if you want. " The first time something goes wrong, the sheep will scream why didn't we do something. Shit, how many idiots point blame at Bush because he didn't jump up and start screaming in front of some children when he learned the first plane hit.
They could treat her like a human being. Customs want her out of the country? Fine, no problem. But there's no need for handcuffs, jail, harsh responses, isolation, hour long interrogations and a lot of other mean bullshit.
Get a grip, put down the drugs and start living in the real world. They're not out to get you and there are no boogeymen. The Freemasons don't rule the world and the CIA doesn't care what bullshit some blogger posts on you tube. It's sad that people's lives are so boring and devoid of any meaning that they have to make up shit like this so they can delude themselves into thinking only they see the real truth.
/endrant
What is this supposed to be?
#4699 Re: The Sunset Strip » Downloading CD's vs Buying Used » 925 weeks ago
Well, it's not exactly the same thing. When you sell used CD's you just trade a product. If you download CD's you copy them.
I guess you could call downloading inflation, while the trade market is on the gold standard
