Desperate ex managers and lunatic fans, gee what next?

#472 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » Live at the Ritz, full concert » 659 weeks ago

Awesome. I said on another board I'd easily swap the 3 hour show for a 55 minute show like this. No amount of pyro, strippers, 3d or guitar noodling can replicate this. Getting a bit old now, but the best concerts of my life were those ones that went by in a flash and left you thinking, 'wow, what the fuck just happened there!'

I have a question for all the old time gunners on this board.

Did anyone attend this concert? Can you remember? I'd love to hear your recollection of the night.

Why does Led Zepplin always crop up in these comparisons?

The fact is both were awesome bands in their heyday.

Led Zepplin.

If GNR had continued after UYI it might have been the other way around.

Dreadful, couldn't get to the end of the song!

#477 Re: Guns N' Roses » Axl at the Golden Globes afterparty » 660 weeks ago

I wander what some of the celebs chat with Axl about at these events. The 'new music' conversation must come up now and then

Mikka, I'm sure Axl cares about the financial issues now, but that never stopped him from spending a grotesque amount of money on Chinese democracy. Best Buy saved his arse. I wish they'd have only got half the deal, maybe he would have been forced into releasing the rest by now to recoup his expenditure.

If there are more tracks the question is which ones?

A) Leftovers from the CD1 sessions (Checkmate, Silkworms, Blood in the Water etc)
B) Remixes of CD (perhaps the rest of the Brain album that Better Gone is from)
C) Leaks of new Demos with DJ/Bumble - ideas submitted to Axl.
D) Older versions of the CD1 tracks

Definetely A but not those songs you've mentioned (except maybe Checkmate)

Left overs from CD sessions were widely spread even before Chinese Democracy released. I got a friend who worked for Universal at the time (from 2004 to 2009) and he got to hear, in a meeting regarding CD, most of what would be the CD II. I already posted his impressions on the subject a few months ago. The plan was to release CD and then tour US with a big act co-headlining and mid-tour release CD II. The songs he heard were identified as finished and delivered to release.

And what were they then?

In addition, if GNR can break from Uni, I'd have MASSIVE respect if they signed up to pledgemusic. It's such a great movement IMO, that could do with the profile of a major act signing up and giving the middle finger to the record company. After all the bitching and whining about the CD release from Axl show us how it's done big man!

Fuck backplane or whatever that shit is, with all of their videos, unreleased tracks (supposedly), remixes and fan interaction the band could go a bug way to repair their reputation.

For those who are interested check out Ginger Wildhearts mutation / hey hello project. Fuking awesome I'm hooked and so happy to be spending my money there.
