It's only been ten days since Coachella was announced. Reading have announced in March before, there is no immediate rush

The promoter can provisionally book and hold stadium dates, and it can all get switched on fairly quickly. There will probably be a deadline in place for the band to make a decision. There could be a plan B in place as well. It's not really a bad thing at this stage.

The comments from AEG put into context all stories that are coming out now.

It also puts into context why we were hearing July dates in Europe for GN'R, then ones at the end of August.

I spoke with AEG, and they say there are offers on the table, but at this time, there are no other dates booked at all and that there is no information to give because there isn't any (if you get what I mean). Therefore, any stories regarding dates and venues are purely speculation until the band decides exactly what they want to do

Also, so it is on record. There is an intention to tour after Coachella, but planning is still in its early stages

Joe Litvag, an AEG senior vice president who produces Rocklahoma and other summer hard-rock festivals, believes those days are long gone. "I've had Guns N' Roses with Axl at a couple of our festivals in the last few years and he's been great," he says. "Our hope is they're going to do more than a single festival appearance. If they do [a tour], it's going to be big venues and big production."

Slash McKagan wrote:

According to Billboard.com, the reunited GUNS N' ROSES — featuring singer Axl Rose alongside guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan — will be one of the first acts to play the new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, set to open April 6. The band is also negotiating with promoters to play as many as 25 stadiums in North America this summer. For the tour, GN'R is said to be asking as much as $3 million per show, with tickets topping out in the $250 to $275 range.

Meanwhile, The Pulse Of Radio reports that the instrumental members of GUNS N' ROSES — including Slash, McKagan and more recent drummer Frank Ferrer — are rehearsing for the upcoming reunion shows without Rose. The frontman has yet to join the group in the rehearsal studio and it's not clear at the moment which other members are also present, if any.

Slash told The Pulse Of Radio a while back how his relationship with Axl disintegrated during the final years of the classic GUNS lineup. "His sort of m.o., as far as the band was concerned, over time got so exaggerated in the rock star sense or whatever and he became such a dictator and this and that and the other, that it was impossible for me to work with him, because I'm not the kind of person that takes orders, you know," he said.

Ahead of April's headlining slot at the Coachella Music And Arts Festival, GUNS N' ROSES is rumored to be planning a secret show in the Los Angeles area next month as a warm-up.

Although neither Slash nor Duff McKagan played on the 2008 GUNS album "Chinese Democracy", songs from that set are reportedly being rehearsed and will be performed.

The Las Vegas chatter appears to be correct, but the concert appears to be planned (based on early plans) for the last week of April, not around April 6th. I am guessing if the earlier plans come to fruition it could follow Coachella. Because the promoter is having to deal with multiple managers, agents, lawyers and other personnel, I get the sense it is taking longer to plan the world tour as a whole. I am not sure about the US tour (which I would guess may happen after a gap after Coachella), but the European tour planning is still in it's infancy, so I would logically guess that July could be a stretch for any tour dates. I am thinking August will be more likely. The German date is supposedly July, but with the F1 race, August would make more sense (although I am fairly confident there have been offers in place for July). It will be interesting to see how it pans out

It may make sense.

It was flippantly mentioned in passing that promoters in Europe were working with personnel for six members of GN'R.

It could also infer that one or more members are being paid outside of any contracts drawn up

If Izzy has been quietly working behind the scenes on GNR material then this reunion is going to be unreal. This is different than Chinese...anything they are working on will not be buried by GNR and/or the label.

God let these guys have a King Animal in them.

That's be great to hear. I always thought Axl brought the pomp and cermony, Slash the guitar solos, Duff the punk and Izzy was that bluesy glue that stuck it all together

Not that it has to be the same but in 06 they hit the UK festival scene earlyish with Download as you'll remember. Then the rest of the summer euro festivals before heading back to the UK at the end of July for a stand alone mini tour.

I hope so. They could do at least three concerts in the UK, but we will need to wait and see.

#489 Re: Guns N' Roses » Same Old, Same Old » 504 weeks ago

Thanks for that. It is good to have it all on record.

I am looking into Super Bock Super Rock in Portugal if you see anything. Not looked at it yet

I am looking at the sequence, UK (starting 9th July), then Ireland, Germany, Portugal then Spain. Italy/France, Switzerland/Belgium, into Denmark/Norway/Sweden then east. Germany could be earlier, so there could be a concert/couple of concerts before the UK, then everything else rearranged around that.

I also have an Ireland link at the end of August, so there could be a secondary/alternative sequence as well. It is maybe based around where/when GN'R will play in the UK.

Copenhagen Post are predicting GN'R and The Who at the Roskilde Festival this year (Denmark, July again) http://cphpost.dk/news/as-if-2015-wasnt … y-for.html
