I'm not surprised, motherfuckers. A shame a bunch of millionaires can't get along to make millions more.

I'm so sorry James. I remember you saying stuff like "the devil's on the loose..." and thinking it was so funny and old of you, and now I know why! May your grandma rest in peace.

Agreed.

I'd take DC over Marvel any day. I just don't dig the overabundance of the tonque-in-cheek shit with Marvel. It actually kind of burned me out with them. It was one thing with Tony Stark & Robert Downey, Jr. & Iron Man. That's cool. That's Rob's character, and blah blah blah. But then they did it... again... and again... and again. Guardians, Deadpool, Ant Man. Even when DC freaked everyone in 1988 and decided to hire, then comedy-actor Michael Keaton, to play Bruce Wayne/Batman, people feared a return to Batmania in the 60's. Yet Keaton not only delivered a dark, dramatic performance... i'd argue that Batman Returns in 1992, might be one of Keaton's greatest cinematic performances. Just stellar from beginning to end, getting the nuisances that make HIS Wayne/Batman. What became the definition for THE Batman performance, until Christian Bale, and i'd argue Affleck on BvS was better than Bale in the entire TDK Trilogy.

As for The Killing Joke anime, I felt it was solid as well. Especially to go R-rated with it. All I heard was complains that it wasn't a proper Batgirl story and that everyone was pissed off because Barbara Gordon/Batgirl had a relationship with Bruce/Batman in it and that infuriated everyone.

I've never understood why shipping Batgirl/Batman has always sent the fanboy crowd into hysteria. To me, despite the obvious age difference, i've always thought it made perfect sense. Hooking up Barbara with her innocence of crime-fighting is the perfect counter to his burnt out wanting to die version of Batman. Hooking Barbara up with Dick Grayson/Tim Drake/Robin, is boring, although i'd prefer Nightwing to Robin. I can see the Dick Grayson connection to her.

Either way, to me it's the perfect relationship, and i've never understood why it wasn't, other than people who wanted him with some sort of badgirl, Talia Al Ghul/Catwoman-scenario.

To me, if the story were to organically move on, it made perfect sense. Bruce reconciles his parents, fails to save his love -- Batgirl -- from Joker, she gets paralyzed and becomes Oracle. Alfred then dies, and Oracle becomes the mother hen over Bruce, hung up over failing to save her from Joker, while continuing his quasi-love/comrade relationship with Oracle, with a deceased Alfred.

imho

Never understood why the fanboys freaked out about that kind of scenario. Alfred has to eventually meet his maker, lol.

The Killing Joke intro was just so poorly done. Could it make sense for Batman and Batgirl to get together? Yes, but don't make it look like they're in fucking middle school with the whole "oh should i text batman first" bullshit.

Death Magnetic had some rippin' shit on it too. I agree though, this is fucking great. Can't wait to hear some more shit off the album.

Holy shit. Suicide Squad is the worst movie I have ever seen in my life.

Did they film this movie and then decide to add music over EVERY scene? A lot of the music didn't even make sense in the context of the scenes. I believe it changed the tone and not in an intended way.

Every character was dumb and a fucking embarrassment. It's really hard to fuck up these characters but they definitely found a way. Will Smith was Will Smith. Absolutely not believable as Deadshot. Harley Quinn was so fucking cringey. "I like your perfume, is that the stench of death?" Jesus fucking Christ. Killer Croc was reduced to the token black guy somehow. And why the fuck did he get down on all fours to go down those steps? He could have literally just dove into the tunnel. This movie was so fucking tryhard. Nothing in this movie felt natural AT ALL. Captain Boomerang did NOTHING. Katana did NOTHING. The only one I found sort of compelling was Diablo, but even that's a stretch. Leto's Joker was a fucking...joke(hehe). Hey guys look at me I'm so quirky and eccentric! The Joker is someone you don't want to fuck with, but honestly Leto's performance just made me think that somebody needed to beat his punk ass. Man, this movie was so fucking bad. I left the theater with a headache and a giant feeling of dread and disappointment. Not only did I spend 10 bucks on it, but 2 hours of my life that I'll never get back.

Hidden Text:

Enchantress and her brother were such shitty villains. Those stupid fantasies at the end were laughable. I fucking get it. Deadshot loves his daughter. Also, they took him out with just a demo charge? Why not just bomb the building?

Rex is right....a box set is needed at some point.

A box set would have to incorporate Chinese Democracy though, and it's going to be a while before they fully acknowledge the existence of that era. With Slash and Duff back in the band, the embargo on releasing Slash/Duff material is lifted. It made sense at the time, you don't want to go promoting the beloved old incarnation of the band when you're trying to establish a band with Buckethead or DJ Ashba as Guns N' Roses.

But the reverse is true now; they don't really want to go reminding people of the wilderness years. And why bother? They've got enough 80s and 90s concert material to keep holiday releases ticking over for the next decade (rather like Queen's doing with its archive of live material). We'll be seeing Ritz '88 and the making of Use Your Illusion long before we see a comprehensive Chinese Democracy box set. Which is a shame, because it's pretty much the holy grail of GN'R vault material, for me.

If they weren't going to acknowledge the CD era, they wouldn't be playing songs from it every night. I don't think it's an issue.

Honestly, they should do a box-set with rarities, demos, unreleased live shows, and some new tracks added in. Toss in a t-shirt, poster, belt buckle, etc and you have yourself a great product. CDs aren't selling for shit, but give people something cool they can get their hands on, and it'll sell. People just don't value music anymore. You have to throw in something extra or what's the point? Anyone can just download anything they want.
