#41 Re: GN'R Downloads » Slash/Chester - Crazy » 151 weeks ago

I would have been interested in hearing a VR album with Chester.

It's crazy to think the first actual VR song (Set me Free) came out 19 years ago.  Think about that. Velvet Revolver is essentially 2 decades old.

My favourite old school arcade game was always 1942. I don't know why I just loved it but it had to be the sit down version. Fuck the standing version.

A massively underrated and super fun old school NES game was Duck Tales. But my regular go to games were Tecmo Bowl, Blades of Steel, Metroid, Contra, Zelda, RC Pro AM, Excitebike, Mike Tyson's Punch Out and of course Super Mario Bros.

#45 Re: Guns N' Roses » Why no photo shoots after 1991? » 151 weeks ago

The band had basically drifted apart during the Illusions tour. Getting Axl to show up for a soundcheck or rehearsal was next to impossible so he was never gonna show up to a photoshoot with a band nobody seemingly wanted to be a part of anymore.  Then post break up there was, in my opinion a very conscious effort to maintain the illusion that all the various incarnations of GnR were in fact THE classic GnR. So any marketing via band photoshoots that didn't show Slash and Duff weren't how they wanted to market and promote the band. Throughout the entire CD saga there was next to nothing in terms of promoting GnR as a new band, while remnants of the old band were constantly featured heavily in any and all marketing. A full band photoshoot post 1991 didn't serve a purpose. At least not a purpose Axl and Co. wanted.

Top Gun: Nice mix of nostalgia and newness. Fan service was done right. Actually had some emotion in parts. A nice, enjoyable compliment to the original movie.  Got a little too "Hollywood" near the end but not so much that it wasn't forgivable.

#48 Re: Guns N' Roses » Can you see Slash leaving again? » 151 weeks ago

At this point in time GnR basically funds anything Slash wants to do in life, including anything in terms of a solo career or with Myles and the Conspirators. There is no reason for him to leave GnR.  It's basically his day job now(which was once his passion) which affords him the opportunity to pursue his current passions basically restraint free.
