Fucking Christ, these songs... the lack of overproduction makes them so, so much better. They can breathe. Prostitute in particular. I already loved the CD version, but goddamn, I feel like this version takes the song to a whole 'nother level. It sounds much more powerful to me.
I always staunchly thought the final version of IRS was better, even though I liked the '99 leak, but I now feel that was simply because the quality of the leak we had before made it sound... muddy. Now, I think I finally am willing to make the jump to say the '99 version is superior.
This is the Chinese we deserved.

This is like wandering in the desert for years, on the verge of dying from dehydration, and falling into a lake of beautiful, crystal clear water.
If Atlas leaks, I won't need anything for the next 50 Christmases.

I dare you to prove it.
(Please, we're desperate)

Well, so far we have a good cross section of people who have heard full versions of Going Down, Hard School, and Silkworms. In my opinion, they all are the definition of outtakes....songs not good enough to make Chinese....b-sides. I haven’t heard enough of Atlas Shrugged to make an educated opinion. Just my two.
I would agree with Going Down and Silkworms, however, I actually do have a great fondness for Going Down.
But I don't think Hard School is any less worthy of making CD than Riad, Scraped, or ITW (though the live version of ITW makes it 20x better, imo).

Sigh. The one time I go to bed early after I get off work.
The hunt begins...

The cell phone Atlas recording I thought you guys were referring to was one that was on mygnr about a year ago, and you couldn’t hear anything
Think you might be thinking of The General. You can absolutely hear the Atlas recording more clearly, however, it's definitely muffled compared to the 3 second snippet that first came out like a day before.
And to my knowledge, there was no legit Atlas clip that surfaced last year. It was just a bunch of BS started over at GNFNR.

Loving the snippet of Checkmate. It's basically what I always wanted to hear from that clip that's been circulating for so long; a ballsy rocker with a bit of a NuMetal edge.
Atlas... I don't want to judge it fully until there's a full clip of it in better quality. It didn't blow me away, but I feel like a lot of it was due to how shitty sounding the quality of the clip is. And maybe a tad of 20 years of overhyping.

Who is the person that bought it?
Supposedly LeviSnuts. Who was a frequent poster on Truth and was very chummy with "Jim" last I saw.

Ah, a 3-second snippet of a 20-year old song. Feels like Christmas! Lol.
Really hope something comes of all this. I absolutely want to hear AFD '99.
