wow, looks like it`s really possible this time!

one thing that seems to have been overlooked in the last few months of speculation, is that the manager of the joint in vegas said in an interview in june 2014, that axl plans to reform the original band after the residency. at that time it came completely out of the blue and noone took it serious, but in hindsight it perfectly fits the picture. axl handing out those chinese democracy platinum discs to the band members could`ve really been the end of the chinese democracy era..

I was gone from the GNR online communities then. Never heard about the reunion then. I remember the mention of supposedly retiring and of course the CD discs.

Another thing is that during the HoF period, Slash said they'd try again in five years, and that Axl wanted to work CD more. Again, his comments were ignored at the time, but I found them interesting. Niven has also made noises about a reunion, plus other things.

It'll be interesting to see how they handle the media. There's going to be a lot of questions about Axl and Slash's relationship. Questions about the issues surrounding the break-up. They'll have to get thoroughly de-briefed. I wonder if Axl and Slash will do an interview together. I'd like to see them on cbc's q show. I'm not a fan of Trunk, but they may feel more comfortable there.

I agree, they should do their own shows, and create more hype and attraction around the band. Even if they do small gigs, it would be better. It'd create demand for the bigger shows. Plus so many people have seen that Ritz performance on youtube, and would pay out the nose for that kind of experience.

I see your point a little more now. But just because Slash "works" in the business, doesn't mean Axl doesn't "work" either. While Slash has recorded, from my perspective of Axl back in the day to know, Axl seemed to be spending all of his time on spirituality, finding his place in existence, and wanting to know every tick about how the universe works. He is far more intellectual today than he was back in the day.

And I find that just as valuable as Slash having a "sweat of your brow" mentality.

lol What makes you say this? It sounds like fanfiction to me. Has Axl given an interview where he's discussed such thing? Maybe I missed it.

DJ at the beginning, what a joke.

The whole thing is sign of what a mess GNR has become.

Watching these videos, it's clear that Slash has a good thing going. Lots of people have said Axl should have gone solo and found his Randy Rhodes, but from these videos, has Slash found his Randy in Myles?

At times the whole thing between Axl and Slash does seem like scorned lovers. When Marc goes on about Axl needing to "process his pain", you'd think he was talking about Stephanie.  Even accounting for all the issues that we know of, the deepness of the estrangement seems disproportionate.

I'm looking for a GNR version of Only Women Bleed and need some help. I use  to watch it on Youtube a few years ago, but can no longer find it and can't remember the show.

I do remember that Axl had his foot in a cast. He introduces the song, and then goes to sit on the stage steps behind him. The camera then pans to Slash at the side, who plays the song. After Axl sings his lines, Duff comes up and sits beside him, right before Axl then gets up and goes off stage.

The show was in America, and it was the Illusions tour.

Any guesses?
