Speaking of Chickenfoot:
The members of rock supergroup Chickenfoot have been keeping busy with their other music projects but the band have checked in with fans with news that they expect to be playing together again next year.
The group features former Van Halen members Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony as well as Red Hot Chili Peppers' Chad Smith and Joe Satriani.
The band has been quiet lately but has now updated fans on their official website with the following message, "Although they haven't played together, the guys have been seeing each other here and there over recent months.
"Sammy Hagar stopped in at Skywalker Studios during Joe Satriani's recording of his new album and has commented on his hopes in this article.
"Joe also answered questions about getting together with Chickenfoot on a recent interview on 107.7 The Bone and Chad Smith and Michael Anthony also recently joined Hagar in the studio to play on some tracks for him on his upcoming solo album.
"And of course Anthony was recently on stage with agar at his annual Cinco De Mayo show in Tahoe. The guys are busy but with Smith's time freeing up, odds are good that they'll be returning to playing music together in 2014 after Joe and Sammy's solo tours later this year."
In other news, Hagar will be joined by Anthony and his former Montrose bandmates Denny Carmassi and Bill Church at a concert at America's Cup Pavilion in San Francisco, CA on September 7th.

I'm disc 3 into the box set right now. I was gifted it when it came out years ago, but didn't think much of it. (It was during a sick of Bon Jovi period, didn't even give it a full listen.) I'm fucking loving it now though.
Russ - you might dig this dude. Most of these tracks must have been from the Pre-Bounce era, because they've got that feel to them.

I tend to do this naturally too. I've done this with GNR, Bon Jovi, AC DC, and Aerosmith. Only I'll listen to them until I'm literally sick of them, then go years without listening to them.

Wow, great deal dude. I'm States side so I can't take advantage, but I'll have to keep an eye out for a deal like that here.

Just listened to the new album on grooveshark, pretty bad ass. I'm kind of on the fence on if I'm going to buy it though. I already have that live album with 25 tracks on it, I don't know if I really need another 11 tracks of instrumental rock. lol. The man is going to be in NYC in September, might go check him out live.

I came across this band a few months ago too, I've been meaning to post about them. I picked up their last album, Apocryphon, and I really liked it. There is some great shredding / guitar work. They kind of have a Black Sabbath / Ozzy thing going, only a little more modern.

I don't mind songs that sound alike as long as I like what they sound like. But I totally agree with you on the length of the songs. Also, there weren't any tracks that stood out to me as being a good single, not even Suite & Tie.
Suit & Tie is weird to me. I liked it initially then it wore off quick, but lately I've liked it a ton more when I hear it on the radio. It's really odd.
I dug Pusher Love Girl as well even though it's a complete rip off of late 90s Prince. But again, the album version is drawn out for no reason.
That's one thing I hate about the radio, they play the same singles so often, I feel like I'm being conditioned to like crappy music. No matter how little I like a tune, after the 30th time I hear it, I'm singing along.
I hated Suit & Tie from my first listen. I like JT, I liked his last album, he's the man on SNL, and I really wanted to like his new music. But I just can't get into it. I only gave the rest of the album one good listen though, so I will be giving it another show soon, and I'll pay better attention to Pusher Love Girl since you recommend it.

Same here, I was very disappointed with this one. I heard some cool sounds here and there, but I didn't like the whole Bee Gees thing it had going.

I was referring to Baz in that post, he's an 80's vocalist who's work with Skid Row was very similar to Axl in GNR.
Baz`s " work" was n`t similar to Axl`s, Axman had huge input in Guns`s music unlike Baz, who just added his vocals to whatever Snake and Scott Hill handed him. He doesn`t have writing chops.
Again, I was referring to him as a vocalist, I didn't say anything about his writing being comparable to Axl's. And I don't think it's comparable to Axl's, but it's not bad either. Baz's solo albums were pretty dam good, way better than the crap SR has been doing without him.
