Despite there being no new music or evidence of writing and recording in 2012' GNR has done a better job of pushing the brand by keeping themselves busy and touring extensively. Axl's reputation has somewhat improved through less cancellations, late starts and even television promotion. There is a website (!) and the band seem more cohesive. In the Malibu Mansion, things must have never seemed so good.

The quesion here is where do they go from here? To get the band together and begin recording could throw them back 3-4 years. I suspect to Axl the very thought of entering a recording studio sends a cold shiver down his spine after the complete mess that Chinese democracy was. To the best of our knowledge, the management still has a lot of work to do with the record label, building bridges and gaining their trust, or simply severing their relationship and going alone.

So what are your thoughts and predictions for the next year? If you were managing the band, keeping the band members engaged, fans happy, revenue coming in and the brand alive what would you do next? And if there are lots of old, unfinished songs, new ideas from band members, who will be able to make sense of all that and turn it into something?

Well, it's already 4 years since CD came out, the years are starting to add up again...

The HTGTH clock will only start when they're in the studio I can guarantee that.

The new rolling stones song doom and gloom has really grown on me. If tey can do it I am sure ax and izz still have some of that magic left.

No harm in perhaps bringing dj or richard into some sessions with izzy. I'm sure axl and izzy would have a good ear for what does and doesn't work and could work with them creating tunes. I would love to know what izzy thinks of the tracks ashba sent axl.

I don't know about bumble yet - very talented guitarist, but not sure his creative style fits.

I read somewhere that the next batch of material axl had was darker than CD. Maybe there's one of the problems - the band have been touring a classic rock show but the vault is darker/heavier/industrial stuff that doesn't fit with that.

Dipping into the vault now could be a great strategy for Axl. Their live show is well honed, and by releasing another album they cold continue to tour and give time for the band to write as a group.

The other thing I'd like to see if Axl spend a bit of time with izzy and write a few gnr tunes together. I'm sure if they laid a foundation the rest of the group could write around it.

I'd be keen to ask bumble now he's been in the band for quite a while how he would approach writing guitar parts. His solo style seems so far apart from the classic rock vibe.

Anyway sorry went off track there.

we might be lucky to get one Axl sighting in a series.

I'd stay up for the bucket head episode!

Who's at the door? It's slash, quick hide!

So many possibilities!

I say swap Scott for Axl in new gnr and Axl in velvet revolver and see who does better!

A few episodes like 'the osbournes' in Axl's house would be very interesting!

Since this thread is about filming costs etc, I noticed this posted at HTGTH yesterday but was subsequently deleted.  Some dude posted a thread saying a producer is suing Axl for $70,000.  The poster write:

Axl is already saying he's not going to appear at trial since he's scheduled to tour India at that time. This case won't go to trial. Not a jury trial at least for only $70,000 top end damages.

Just thought I would share.

He then got flamed for not being willing to provide a source etc etc  then Beta jumped on and posted this:

Axl is not saying anything. Stop assuming shit. Our dates in India has been arranged months before this court date. This person wished he was a producer. He is owed nothing. He wrote some shitty videos for 09 tour and it was not approved by anyone in this camp. Another one that wants his name in the news. He already received around $70k to start the job, got declined and now he wants the remaining $70.

Hang on a minute, he wrote some videos for the 09 tour which wasn't approved but they paid him 70k to start the job? Either you did or didn't commission the job.
