Jace Hall is the Kevin Skewrl of Duke Nukem Forever.

On June 5, 2008, in-game footage of the game was featured on the premiere episode of The Jace Hall Show. Filmed entirely on hand-held cameras but not originally expected to be publicly released[41], the video showed host Jason Hall playing through parts of a single level [42] on a PC at 3D Realms' offices. The footage was confirmed to have been shot 6 months prior[43] to the episode air date and according to Broussard, contained outdated particle and combat effects that have since been replaced. Same with BETA. Think it died when the public latched on to VHS? Not a chance. BETA was standard format in the industry while the public ate up the worse quality format.

OT: Beta is still one of the main-stay formats. Of course, nowadays people are more inclined towards the DigiBeta, which is the improved big-brother. Beta/DigiBeta remain among the most useful storage/master copy formats as unlike DVD, they do not compress the image.

The public always gets the shorter shrift, because the first-gen copy needs to be as good as possible, but it's always painfully expensive to replicate for mass consumption as is. Now that HDV gear is hitting the consumers, the next best thing in the same field is already around the corner and making rounds in productions.

I liken vinyl to 8mm film stock, when it comes to the consumers. There's an undeniable 'feel', that can never be wholly complimented by any amount of digital preprocessing, this sort of strangely human element. It's almost a flawed, distorted representation of the content, adding a distinct fingerprint to it.

Like a broken mirror, the faulty image of reality is oftentimes better than anything that crystallizes the real thing.

IRS: A+
Better: A
TWAT: A-

CD: B+
If the World: B+
The Blues: B+
Track #2: B

Rhiad: C+
Maddy: C

Overall, I'd call that a very positive review.

The Joint, Las Vegas, Dec 29th, 2001.

Axl further talked about 'Oh My God' and how that was just in a demo tape which the management insisted be put on the Arnie soundtrack which Axl said ok to hesitantly. - GNR On Tour

This has been confirmed by other people who were present.

James, look at this. lol

The Joint, Las Vegas on December 30th & 31st, 2001.

Notice that Axl's current style in hair and clothing basically goes back to these shows. Back then, his hair was only slightly longer and kept open.

So you admit you're in denial because you're clinging to the hope that Prostitute is the best song ever? Well at least you're honest. Most of us in this fanbase won't even admit that much. 16

Still no undeniable evidence, let alone confirmation that Track #2 is Prostitute. When the leaks first hit us, a lot of people were saying it's This I Love, and how did that turn out?

If it turns out to be Prostitute, we all have a lot of time to get used to the idea.

For the record, I never expected Prostitute to be the best song ever (still to hear a CD song to reach those heights), but surely I expected something different than what Track #2 offered. More to the point; I expected a rocker - the rocker of the album, the one that songs like CD and Better would compliment.

The title is like CD itself (as far as the album's concerned), it's a terrible burden for any song. This I Love will be no different, and all the Harp Bitches in the world won't save it from scrutiny.

Rhiad and If The World are a breath of fresh air however, and have certainly rejuvenated my interest in the album. Track 2 would have everything easier if it wouldn't be associated to the 'Prostitute' title.

Why is it still being debated everywhere?

Because after all these years, the image I've been handed was of a track that'd rip my teeth out of their gums.

And I know I'm not alone in that.

(Track 2 is a good song, certainly growing on me. Just couldn't connect it to the Prostitute myth in a million years.)

Prositute: "Prostitute" is another song that is very likely to be on "Chinese Democracy". The song goes back to 1996, and it was first confirmed by Kerrang in 1999. I did however get confirmation that it's much older through a contact who was working at Geffen.

If true, it might've been included in the 7 song batch Axl and Paul Huge wrote for the old band to record in August '96 - along with Oklahoma, possibly.

12-15, perhaps. Depending on the layout he uses. But honestly, 12,000 words ain't that much.

Baz may have around 4,000 words with six pages, so don't knock it.

Ros has found time for a couple of interesting projects inbetween court dates, though. Firstly, he has been keeping an eye on the forthcoming official biography of Guns N' Roses. Somewhat pessimistically titled Shattered Illusion, it's due for publication in 1995 and has been written by Axl's long-time friend and lyrical collaborator, Del James. The book is understood to be the inside story of the band with a great deal of input from the vocalist's side. It's sure to be both an entertaining and controversial read! - Raw, 11/94

Axl, in recent months, promised, through his manager, to take time from his recording schedule and pen exclusively for ROLLING STONE his version of how and why Guns N' Roses broke up. Months went by, and this missive never materialized. Then, days before this story went to press, Doug Goldstein proclaimed, "Good news!" Axl was ready to hand over a 10,000-word-plus essay. A day later, Goldstein withdrew that promise and ended all communication with ROLLING STONE. - RS, 05/00

Like CD, the autobiography has been rewritten multiple times and has gone through several editors. Axl indulges in late-night writing jams, where he scribbles out bits and pieces and his editors are left to work in a Burroughsian situation, where they need to literally piece together a story - not to mention one Axl feels is the true GNR story. Pages have been leaked to the web, but everyone involved feels they just don't read right as of yet.

The elusive Rose has offered but little comment.

"People will read words this year."

Hope Axl's hiring new people sometime soon. wink
