I only have one too, a live one called Satchurated. Pretty good, and 30 of his best tracks for $10, not bad.

Alter Bridge Begin Recording New Album

Alter Bridge have revealed that they have begun recoding their brand new studio album, which follows their late 2010 release "ABIII."

The band broke the news via their official website with the following message, "We are pleased to announce that recording has begun on our 4th studio album.

"First up to record is Scott 'Flip' Phillips on the drums. Stay tuned and we'll update you on the progress as time allows."

Guitarist Mark Tremonti recently discussed the musical direction of the new material in an interview with Loudwire.

He told the site, "All of them are kind of real high-energy, just real fun rock/metal. We want to not be predictable. We want to make it a little surprising and we're having fun with it."

--------

The AB circuit has begone and we are one step closer to new Slash. smile

One interesting thing about the Tremonti interview. They are making the new record more fun, I'm taking that to mean they're making more like what Myles did with Slash. Lol

Instrumental rock guitar maestro (and Chickenfoot guitarist) Joe Satriani is releasing a new album titled ‘Unstoppable Momentum’ on May 7, and from the sound of its first single, ‘A Door Into Summer,’ it’s going to be a classic slice of what he does best.
‘A Door Into Summer’ kicks off with a moody pipe organ chord before launching into a heavy main riff that’s so accessible, it sounds like it could have been the basis of a late-’80s Winger song. Satriani uses a bright tone for a melody line over the top of that for the verse, which shows him in his restrained, the-guitar-is-singing-the-song approach that characterized past Satriani classics like ‘Always With Me, Always With You.’
But at the two-minute mark he departs dramatically from that for a lengthy shredding solo that employs an artful combination of speed chops, tone and unusual phrasing before settling into a cool twin-guitar harmony line that takes the song back to the main riff.
It’s nice to see Satriani adhering so doggedly to the kind of style that serves his talents best, instead of attempting to adapt to a changing marketplace by altering his approach. That’s bound not to please everyone — for instance, if you’re one of those people who think that instrumental guitar music is just a bunch of meaningless, egocentric wankery, well, you’re probably still gonna think that after listening to ‘A Door Into Summer.’
But for fans of Satriani’s past work, there ought to be more than enough of a balance between straight composition and showy guitar chops here to spark your interest.

Has a great bluesy riff and Ann & Nancy are amazing as always. I heard this album is quite solid. Their talents only get better with age.

Yeah, I think it's pretty solid; listened to it the other day.

Listening to chickenfoot again today, as I watch the Nets Bulls game. Though I think "staying alive" would be more appropriate.

^^I also think he sings 'Not for Me', with a lot of emotion. Honest, deep, and he creates a hell of an image with the lyrics too.

I was able to download it.

So far I've only listened to "The Old Wise Rock Blaster", I chose that track because I saw the doc with the lyrics, and I wanted to follow along.  But I couldn't hear them, have they not been mixed in yet?

I'm not really a fan of experimental indie rock, but I thought the last 30 seconds were pretty cool.

My only beef with Scott in VR is that he makes VR sound like STP. And I like STP and all, but that's not what I want to hear from VR, I want to hear GNR.
