I just mainlined 8 different versions of CD.

I’m pretty sure Freese plays on all of em except New Brain Drums. Same telltale signs. Brain is louder, more spill, less cymbals, less fills.

If you want to spot it go to the chorus “if they were missionaries” where the guitars fall back and the drums come in louder. You can focus in on the drums.

Also listen at “So you can hear it now from //
Somebody else“ and you can hear a cool little fill from Josh that Brain didn’t replicate.

Josh is way better on this track. And I’d say all tracks except maybe the ballads/epics but kicking Freese off his own track is just petty and stupid.

I’d love to hear finished Soul Monster, etc. but I fell in love with GNR because of Chinese Democracy and the songs that made the record.

I haven’t listened to the new one closely enough.

My favorite is 14. It has a raw feel to it and the latter half of the solo Bucket is just going for it.
