Wait, I do have something more to share on this. Something really weird happened to me related to MJ's passing. The week before he died, I downloaded 4 of his albums and had been listening to them non stop. It was such a weird and creepy coincidence, that it still gives me goose bumps when I think about it. After years of not listening it his music because it wasn't cool any more, and because of disgust over the child abuse allegations, something inside of me just drove me to purchase them and listen to them again. It was so weird, like in a split second, I came to the realization that even if I hated what this man may have done, I can still love what he created, and that I didn't care what anyone else thought or felt about it. And suddenly I was compelled to purchase the CDs. Then a week later he dies. Fucking Creepy.
It was really great to listen to his stuff again though. This music was the soundtrack to some great memories, that I had denied myself for a long time.

This thread is an awesome read. I only have one thing to say.
I gotta say...if I hear one more person call this guy a "GENIUS" I am going to throw up.
This guy's a genius.

This tongue in cheek satanic image and lyrics are for shock values first and foremost.
Even if it is just satire, it bothers me. It's not something I want to sing along to or listen to over and over again. :-/

I've made a new playlist for my morning and afternoon commute, I call it Glam Metal Y2K, and it contains the following albums:
Chinese Democracy - GNR
Kicking & Screaming - Sebastian Bach
Yeah! - Def Leppard
Songs from the Sparkle Lounge - Def Leppard
Slash - Slash
Apocalyptic Love - Slash
A Different Kind of Truth - Van Halen
Sick and Twisted Affair Sick and Twisted Affair - My Darkest Days
Hot Cakes - The Darkness
Bag of Bones - Europe
What About Now - Bon Jovi
Lost Highway - Bon Jovi
Infestation - Ratt
Back From the Dead Back From the Dead - Adler
I put the full albums on the playlist, so I'm thinking this bad boy will last me for a while before I get bored. It's been the soundtrack to my commute for the past week. I've noticed I've been driving slower and more patient with traffic, since I want to keep listening.

These dudes are stone-cold awesome, simple as that. The new CD is a freakin' masterpiece. And, of course, being a Buckethead fan, i love their whole mysterious identity and over-the-top presentation. I wish they didn't write solely about Satan, but with songs so incredibly constructed, it doesn't really matter.
That bothers me, I'm not down with blasphemous lyrics. I'm not a really a religious person, but that shit makes me uncomfortable.

Thanks for posting. Started listening, up through track 4 right now. I think that might be my favorite so far. I'll be back to listen to the rest down the road. I've been wanting to get deeper into this band for awhile now. I've liked everything of theirs I've heard on the radio. That's usually a good sign.
I'm glad you dig it amigo. I haven't heard all their stuff yet. I've only heard a few tracks from their first three albums, and it didn't really inspire me to dig deeper into them. But I really liked their last album, Beyond Hell / Above Heaven, and now this one. Seems to me they're just getting better and better. They actually played in NYC last month and I passed; definately regretting it now.

I truly wish I liked more of the dudes material. When he does shit like this, it really makes me like him as an person, but I just cannot get down with his material.
I feel much the same way. I do like a handful of his songs though, and I never gave any of his albums after Devil Without a Cause a listen though. But I think I'll give them a chance now.
I did like Devil Without a Cause back in the day though, and I'll still rock out to Bawitdaba when it pops up in the shuffle.

Wow, I really enjoyed that. This might be their best effert yet. My picks so far are Pearl Hart, The Nameless One, The Sinner Is You, and Our Loved Ones.
These guys are officially my favorite Danish band.

I like it. We get David on it and it's a hit.
