Here you go!

Awesome! I'll check that out and let you know what happens!
Oh, how I hope the UYI songs end up on Rockband and we get individual instruments again.

imsorry, I understood about 60% of that because you mentioned tools I'm unfamiliar with, but suffice to say: You know your stuff!
I've played around with Audacity (a free download) and Garageband. Audacity is a heck of a lot of fun. It has a "Vocals Remover" feature which deletes anything heard in BOTH speakers at the same time, leaving stereo channels of just what is panned far left and just what is panned far right. This is especially interesting to use with old recordings, like The Rolling Stones, because you can drill down pretty far into the mix by muting one of the remaining channels. You might get just harmony vocals, or a few instruments, because of the way things were mixed in the 1960s.
If anyone out there has even a passing interest in mixing (or maybe it should be called un-mixing?), download Audacity and see what you can do. It's a blast.
Can't wait to hear your latest creations, imsorry!

Seriously... Did anyone report this? Fortunately I always download.
It now says:
"Guns N' Roses - Patience: I..." This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by IFPI."
The IFPI is apparently the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry. At least it's legit and not one of those "Uzi Suicidal" complaints we used to see!
#584 Re: Guns N' Roses » LEAKS THREAD » 362 weeks ago
Yeah I just don't see anymore leaks happening in July let alone maybe this year.
An actual new song hasn't been leaked when all this stuff started to happen.
So whoever has tracks, my bet is they'll be holding on to them.
You raise some really interesting points. It makes me think our old friend MSL is behind these leaks.
The guy is an athlete. He engineered the release of "Chicken Dinner" ("Shackler's Revenge") during the 2008 summer Olympics. This time, we got leaks during the 2018 World Cup. I don't think that is just a coincidence.
As you say, what will be telling is if we get an entirely new leak - something we haven't heard, or maybe even never heard of - some time leading up to the 10th anniversary of the release of Chinese Democracy. If so, that could suggest that we have a second benefactor working on behalf of all the fans. If not, we can just tip our hats in the general direction of whatever wrestling ring in which Mister is engaged in combat!

Yes it was remastered by a fan and it was a very good. this person up the volume and took out the hissing and covered up the clipping around the 4:36 mark. it was very well done. i didn't know if someone had it. i would love to get that version back.
Wow, that's impressive!
#586 The Sunset Strip » Eric Clapton "Day by Day: The Later Years" book » 362 weeks ago

I found a really good book this weekend: "Eric Clapton Day by Day: The Later Years 1983 - 2013." It's a big hardcover reference book with tons of photos and details of every session and gig he did in that 30-year periof: Who he played with, the songs, etc. Very similar in a sense to Marc Canter's GNR biography.
Clapton's so ubiquitous, you can't escape his music. The 1960s, 1970s and 1980s tracks are on rock radio. The 1990s songs are on pop and easy listening. In a way, I think his popularity makes it easy to take him for granted, but seeing some of these set lists makes me want to find out what's on YouTube and available on bootlegs.
The book is sorely in need of an index for, at the very least, all the people he's worked with, either as tourmates, in the studio for albums, or in one-offs, but it looks really nice and I'm looking forward to picking my way through it.

does anyone have the catcher in the rye demo that was remastered? I had it awhile ago burned to a cd now i can not find it. Please any help i would appreciate it.
Which version was remastered? that's news to me. Was it the Brian May version but remastered by a fan?
I've always been disappointed in the album version. Not only is it weaker than the Brian May version, but it seems to have been mastered differently than every other track. As such, it sticks out like an oddity.

I woke up with "Going Down" playing in my head. Not for the first time, either!
If we get another album, I hope this song is included. It deserves to be heard, and like Izzy or Duff on vocals, the fact it has Tommy singing lead makes GNR feel more like a band, not just Axl's prohject - even if it is 90% his project.
If any leak deserves an official release, it's this one!

ClaudeF wrote:Very interesting. I tried to isolate the voices using the audio program Audacity, but that only removed the dialogue and left the music!
Sometimes you can pull isolated dialogue tracks from the surround sound mixes on DVD (there might be some effects mixed into that track, 'cause DVDs usually place dialogue in the centre channel):
https://www.derek-lieu.com/blog/2016/12 … ideo-games
Often thought it'd be handy for bands to have a clean version of the Madagascar dialogue samples, so they can do live covers.
That is a really interesting read. Thanks for sharing.
The article mentions extracting individual audio tracks by using Final Cut Pro X ($299 from the Mac App store), Final Cut Pro 7 (which is apparently incompatible with the current Apple operating system), or Adobe Premiere Pro ($20.99 per month - you have to lease it, apparently).
Does anyone know of another audio extractor that retains all channels in a Surround Sound mix? My gut tells me that while the programs listed above are fully-functional video editing platforms, there's probably something out there that *just* does audio ripping and costs less, or is free. I'll continue to search around and share what I find.
The good thing is that this sort of thing *can* be done. The key is doing it affordably!

Considering Axl's apparent interest in remixes (given what we know of Brain's work), it'd be very cool if he released the multitracks in an official capacity, especially with some of the online DJ services. That would legally expose the multitracks to a whole new audience of remixers, and could result in new fans.
imsorry, when you have time please let us know your process for remixing songs (or do you have a thread about it somewhere?). Do you get rid of sounds using Audacity's "invert" process, or something else? It sounds like you have remixing down to a science!
Years ago someone told me that if you rewire stereo speakers you can get the "invert" sound. I did it and wow, what a revelation. Audacity is a lot easier!
