Given his record of statements it's pretty certain how people will interpret it.
Agreed, I'm not surprised how it's being interpreted and think that's a legitimate possibility.
But, making comments are one thing, facial expressions are another. Without really knowing what he was thinking at the time, I can't draw any meaning out of it.
Anyway, a minor detail in otherwise excellent quality video. I've been listened to the audio a lot the last day or so. Very cool stuff.

In fairness to Ron, I have NO IDEA what he was actually thinking at that time. He could've been thinking about what he's going to have for dinner later on. It was just a thought that crossed my mind. And even if that was the face he was making, it's not like he called for the cameras to zoom in on him. He could have been trying to keep his frustrations to himself, but the camera happened to catch something. Again though, he could've been relieved the show was coming to a close. Maybe his back was bothering him or something. Anything is possible.
Anything is possible, but it is a legitimate possibility. I understand why that possibility came up for you. Though, we'll really never know for sure.

whats that mateBefore the encore Axl explained to the crowd how they had to cut the show short so the fans could get the last trains of the night, etc. And Ron closed his eyes, and it sort of seemed like he was thinking to himself "well if we went on earlier we wouldn't have to cut things short". At least that was my own interpretation.
Ron should keep his opinions to himself. Nobody's forcing him to be there. Standing there making suggestive faces on official releases is just unprofessional.
The thing is we don't know what he was thinking at the time. Only he does. Maybe it was what faldor is proposing, maybe it was something else. I doubt we'll ever know for sure what Ron was thinking at the time.

Based on his comments over the years (I know Ali would disagree), I think that's a fair assessment.
I think it's possible, but we'll never know for sure what Ron was thinking about at that time.

I remember reading a review of the bootleg of this show in RS that made me want to hear this bootleg. Does anyone have it and can share a link to download it?

The Smashing Pumpkins / Teargarden by Kaleydoscope approach could work for Guns, actually. They have enough tracks in the vault to keep a reasonable production / release schedule with the physical product coming to the picture somewhat as an afterthought (think compilations).
Of course, no major label has gone this way. Which serves as another example of how ridiculously inept they are in dealing with the digital revolution. Name me one major artist who wholeheartedly loves his/her label.
Can't think of any, myself.
Yes, I think the approach you mentioned, though later abandoned, would be great.
But, like you said, no major label has gone this way. And, I think it's reasonable to say that Smashing Pumpkins were able to go with that approach because they weren't entangled with a major label.
I would love new music from GN'R. I see a lot "why can't GN'R put out one song at a time or an EP" and sometimes I see an independent band like Radiohead, NIN or the Pumpkins mentioned. But, the fact is, GN'R is still tied to a major label and it's an apples to oranges comparison to bring in the name of a band like those I mentioned. The situations are completely different.

I agree with BBF that they should be doing a song at a time thing at this point.
I maintain that all GN'R needs to do is release one bad ass track through any means. Throw it on their website, fb page, twitter, release it to radio on their own... whatever.
Worst case scenario, it creates some sort of buzz and the label gets mad that they didn't release it. Ball is then in GN'Rs court to negotiate a release of that song, an EP or whatever. If nothing comes of it popularity-wise, than the label wouldn't have anything to worry about but GN'R fans still get new music.
That would be great, but I wonder how willing the label would be to go down that route. It's one thing to release a single in advance of an album release to promote it. It's yet another to abandon the album format altogether.
Is there really any major label that has abandoned the album format with its roster of artists?
I can't think of any off the top of my head.

#59 Re: Guns N' Roses » GNR headlining Governor's Ball » 674 weeks ago
Here's basically all that the link says:
"The Governors Ball just a big boost from Axl Rose: Guns N' Roses** have been added as headliners for the New York festival in June, joining Kanye West**, Kings of Leon**, Nas**, the Avett Brothers, Grizzly Bear, Kendrick Lamar, the Lumineers, Animal Collective, Feist, Gary Clark Jr., the Dirty Projectors, Japandroids and more."
I've never even heard of this thing. And I thought that said Gilby Clark Jr.
Gary Clark is very talented guitar player.
That sounds like a very, very cool lineup. Kudos to Team Brazil for getting them on a lineup that will no doubt expose them to people that might not ordinarily listen to GN'R or go see them play.

Seriously drop the act already. You know how I know it's an act? Cause you'd never talk that way in real life to any of us. I've never seen anyone buy into their own online persona like you do. The more people suggesed you act like Gn'R's attourney the more you play it up. It's so fucking weird.
You know what's so asinine about this post? You don't know me. You don't know how smart I am or am not and you don't know how I talk in real life because, again, you don't know me at all. And yet, you're writing about me trying to sound smarter than I am and how I would talk in real life.
Please don't presume to know me because you don't.
Ali
No Ali I don't know you but I know a full blown act when I see one. I know you don't speak like than when sitting around having a beer with the guys. And FYI super smart guy I wasn't trying to sound smarter than you, I was simply pointing out how ridiculous it is that you play up this "attorney" character you have going.
Apparently, you don't know what you think you do. You're only further proving my point. And, yes, this is how I often write and talk when communicating with colleagues at work.
And by the way, I didn't mean YOU were trying to sound smarter than me, just reiterating the ridiculous comment that I was writing the way I was because I was trying to sound smarter than I actually am. And, again, it's ridiculous because you don't know me so you have no way of knowing how smart I actually am or am not. Or anything else about me.
Anyway, if you want to make a point or counterpoint about GN'R-related stuff, fine. This personal commentary and faux-insight is unnecessary and pointless (for the reasons I just mentioned). So, let's move on
