I kind of alternate between Hard Skool & Perhaps at the top. I’d say right now it’s probably Perhaps for me but that might be recency bias and the fact they treated it more like a traditional single release with a music video, etc.

I never thought I’d put Absurd above any other GNR song, outside of maybe My World, but The General just isn’t hitting me yet.

Why are people talking about Slash being on these songs? The General and Monsters is one song, no? The one they are supposed to be releasing. And here we have two songs called General and Monsters, so they must have combined them right? Why would Slash then be on these?
It certainly sounds like Slash on “Monsters”. Assuming Slash and Duff put their own finishing touches on them like they did with the other releases. Also guessing we got these leaks yesterday because they were supposed to be released before the delay, so somebody decided they’d share what they had. So this is what we’ll get on 12/8, albeit touched up more to their liking. But I wouldn’t expect much more than that.

They did post about the delayed release. Like others said. A valid reason, they just waited too long to inform the fans. Everything has to be shrouded in mystery for some reason.

I'm in this camp as well. The General sounds much rougher in comparison to monster. Fink and Bucket parts sound intact to my ears. Monsters sounds straight up slash and duff. The vocals on the general sound earlier than monster as well. A lot to unpack and decipher here.

Agreed. I just listened to the two songs together as one on YouTube and that doesn’t really work for me. As you both mentioned, they sound like two different lineups. The songs are better off on their own. Still far prefer “Monster”. Really good and catchy vocals from Axl, signature Slash too. Can’t go wrong with that.

I’ll have to check that out. Do they flow well together?
And thanks for transcribing the lyrics. Always helps with digesting the songs.

Like others have said, I really liked “Monsters” right off the bat. “The General” is a bit tougher to swallow at first. A few listens so far and my opinion hasn’t changed, but it’s early. Plenty of time to grow. I definitely hear Slash on “Monsters”. Not sure what the hell I hear on “The General” just yet.
Weren’t these two songs listed as one in the credits that were posted yesterday? That would be one long ass song. Better to split them up I would think.

Does The General have any vocals that we know of? I haven’t listened to cell phone recordings, etc. and only remember the instrumental intro for past shows.

More importantly wtf happened to our fantasy league with the 2 qb/2 flex thing? Did I miss a league owners meeting?!
We lost two teams and are down to only 8 this year, so I added those extra spots so the FA list wasn’t too loaded. Instead our benches are more loaded. Had to scramble last minute and that’s the best I could come up with. League used to be 12 teams, I think we may have even had 14 one year. And then, there were 8.

Edit - it looks like you just joined, twice. I removed your 2nd team.
So we have 8 now. Two more want to join to make it 10? If we only have 8 I’ll have to adjust the rosters, probably make it a 2 QB league and add another flex spot. Draft is tomorrow night at 9 EST.
