They leaked here. The OP of this thread.
Good to see you back.
Yeah... where's Mike Clink indeed...or anyone who could mix this properly.
, this feels like a genuine gift to the hardcore fans and a bit of a bow on the CD era. Who knows whether we actually get Atlas in the future, or more CD era goodies like SOG, but we've basically gotten all the 'big guns' of CD2.
I also think this release is wrapping up the CD era. I'm hoping for one more but it's doubtful.
There's two big guns left...
Oklahoma and Seven
After that it's Slim Pickens....
I have a feeling that Oklahoma will be one that gets carried forward as it predates CD.

Where did these 2 leaks pop up first? Just an anon poster?
Three things to consider
If it was a limited vinyl only release, then the thinking would be that it would leak anyway
Secondly, if you leak lesser quality versions, they swamp the Internet before the better versions come out
Lastly, what reads better on news sites, the last minute cancellation of the vinyl, or the leaks. Money comes from touring, the last thing the band needs is a story about last minute cancellations, especially if ur investing hundreds in a ticket

I think the Key East info was fake.
Alot of the early fake information, going back 20 years, originated from Florida and the name Key East implies Florida.
There was a female student who worked in the studio at the time, I can't remember her name. Also, Merck said years ago there was about 2 albums of 'finished' material and other unfinished material, so I think this was used as the basis for the fake info

Did any of you post this on reddit?

Seems to be from 4chan i'm assuming this is BS but thought i'd post it coz ... you never know.
I thought Thyme was a standalone piece attached to another song
And, again, if this was known there'd be a record of it somewhere

I’m actually interested in 2004. That’s when they were planning more shows and Bucket quit. I wonder how close the album was at that time because, imo, I think Axl spent the next 2 years trying to get Bucket back. And perhaps even after Ron was in the band.
I'm not 100% sure, but wasn't 2004 when the funding got cut for the album, and everything came to a standstill.

Even more surreal is Perhaps getting top billing , artwork, merch, video, etc
The General will be just those words on perhaps artwork #2Even a press release claims Perhaps is tne first new song the reunion 3 have written?
They added slash n duff to Absurd & Hardskool.
Why pick song 3 as the line in the sand?
The first 2 were technically new songs according to its title.
Perhaps is not, and probably the least new content of the 3Kinda reminds how in the US, the first commercially released version of the
"Civil War" single was a B-side to Terminator 2 & YCBM
It's the one we haven't heard, so it's not a b side, it's marketing.

It wasn't out of mockery or spite. It was because you couldn't have discussions without using the term.
It had been suggested to him about going online a while before he did it, allegedly. So, he must have thought about it a long time before he did it.
A perfect time to do it would've been 2005 in the aftermath of that crazy NYT article and how starved the fan base was at the time.
It would've created so much goodwill and positivity.
It wasn't on the agenda then, 2006 was the year, 2008, then 2010, then 2012, 25 year tour of afd. That was the plan

It suggests there is more music to come
I think so too.
The promo blitz for Perhaps is too big for only one song.
Agreed
It's panning out as stated. Year of touring, then Slash doing his thing. There's something afoot to keep GNR rolling over, and in the consciousness of people, in the absence of touring.
They have visited studios while touring.
It'll be interesting to see what happens. I have to say, it's all alot more professional now, they have done well.

The reason he came was to justify why he continued the GNR brand without Slash etc.. whilst answering selective questions.
They're more disconnected now from us, but the newgnr thing bothered him, not the word, but the concept. He'd gone through loads of bother with it all, carrying the weight of responsibility, and I think he was just trying to justify himself and to vent.
I still find it funny that even he started referring to them as new GNR.

What I have noticed is Hard Skool and Absurd are alot louder than Perhaps.
I hope this is addressed if they end up forming some kind of album.Bob Ludwig has retired, he doesn't work anymore, and has done very little in recent times. GN'R were listening to new material in a studio in Europe very recently
Oh did he master 'Perhaps'?
He did
