#51 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » Slash won’t give Myles a break » 761 weeks ago
Myles has said in the past that he wouldn't have it any other way, by constantly touring and keeping his voice strong, but sheesh, this is crazy.
As much as I can't wait for this new Slash/Myles album I hope this doesn't delay Myles own debut studio album which is already recorded and was pushed back to 2011. I love Myle's writing and bluesy style, and think he shines more in an acoustic, soulful, Jeff Buckley influenced environment which is apparently what his album will consist of.

Jericho sounds like a parody of a 80's rock singer. He sounds like Love Fist from Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.
That was the point though. He even went under the moniker "Mongoose McQueen."
Their last two albums they have come into their own and distanced themselves from being a parody. Infact their new album, despite not selling a lot of copies is getting great reviews worldwide.

Went to a Fozzy gig quite recently. They put on a good show. He sounds quite like Andi Deris from Helloween at times. They played mostly all new material from their latest album Chasing The Grail but with a couple covers in there too. They do amazing covers of Krokus "Eat The Rich" and Ozzy's "Over The Mountain."

It's like a more lame version of "Piece of Me" by Britney Spears.
I wouldn't even give it the satisfaction of calling it a B-Side on Invincible. Invincible was a damn good album imo.

I don't think it's Michael Jackson at all. That was my initial reaction then I read that his mother Katherine has also claimed that the vocals on this track are not Michael.
Could Sony have hired an imposter to 'fill the gaps' on this album? Or maybe instead of having to sit through hours of genuine Jackson material and having to mix and master it, they throw in a couple of well covered fakes so they can cash in on the xmas sales.

Steven Tyler's new solo single has leaked online.
He wrote 'Love Lives,' which serves as a theme song for the Japanese sci-fi movie Space Battleship Yamato (2010 film). The song was based on the English translated script, as well as on some clips of the film itself. The single is to be released on November 24, a week before the movie is released.

Pretty good song. What do you guys think?
As much as I'd love to hear a full Steven Tyler solo album, I'd much rather hear a new Aerosmith one. I think their 'Cocked, Locked & Ready to Rock' tour proved that the band (when they weren't bickering between one another) is still relevant in 2010 and has much more mileage left when they focus.
With this solo release and Tyler on American Idol these days one has to wonder over the future of the band though.

Thought I'd post this since Axl has recently dusted this off from the back catalogue. It's from 2008 but never saw this before. Interesting hearing Myle's take on it. The dude can cover anything.

During the encore of the Alter Bridge gig in Stockholm tonight Slash came out and played "Rise Today" with Myles Kennedy and the rest of Alter Bridge. This is the first time that the rest of the band members have met Slash.

Slip to the void seems to be about enlightenment from what I can tell
Mark Tremonti says the entire album (lyrically) is based on Myle's struggles with faith and spirituality.

As for "Slip To The Void" I wasn't a big fan of it at all and like some of you, never saw anything special in the song. It originally didn't do anything for me. Then I saw them live and they opened with it. The pulsing beat filling the small arena with smoke covering the entire stage, then Myles walks out very mysteriously and begins singing (with his eyes closed) lines like "You should have never come this way...to test the hands of fate...you don't belong here." It's hauntingly epic.
Maybe this video I took will help explain:
Then it kicks in, the overall tempo speeds up and Myles's pitch changes dramatically. Simply awesome. Anyways, maybe it's just something you just have to experience live to fully appreciate, I don't know. One things for sure though, this album is definitely a grower.
