This violence and rioting needs to end soon. Murder rates are at the highest in decades, and the media wants to portray these people as peaceful. What happens when middle america has had enough and the anarchists come to the suburbs where progressive mayors can't order police to watch their cities burn?
Painting with broad strokes again...
Why would you judge the movement by their absolute worst and overlook a cop at his absolute worst? When you state that the media portrays them as peaceful...I say the media is not spending enough time on the provocateurs of all this...we've had people on this very board deny that white supremacists are inflaming this situation.
You seem to be overlooking a lot.
You repeatedly make this claim, and when pressed never defend it. What evidence do you have that White Supremacist are "inflaming" this situation? What percent of violent acts were inflamed by white supremacist? Are you saying Portland and Seattle were inflamed by white supremacist? What about Wisconsin or Chicago? You're persistent that others give your claims equal weight and get upset when you're dismissed, but you've made no effort to support this claim. More to the point, you refuse to consider that you're uninformed and repeating a left wing talking point to mask the record amount of murder and gun violence, to say nothing of BLM and Antifa types literally burning down stores and attempting to burn down police stations and court houses.
If you have evidence to support and quantify your narrative, please provide it. And I ask that you actually read the article you link rather than finding a headline. If you can't do this, then you can't be upset when your claims are immediately dismissed. Here's your chance to make a meaningful contribution to this discussion and show your voice is an informed one. Are you up to the challenge, or will you ignore my request and discuss something else?
Put another way, what evidence do you have that any meaningful portion of the riots are inflamed by white supremacy? If you don't answer this specific question, please don't respond to my post at all.
THIS!!! This is mitch101. Post to start shit, then cry when the shit gets started.

you just don't listen...many personal attacks by buzz and only buzz in this young thread so far....once again no one speaks out about this...this is tolerated and then when I retaliate I look like the asshole...
someone stand up to this other than me or it will disintegrate again...
I have in the past many times. I don't waste my time on it anymore and I suggest you do the same. There is definitely a double standard going on here.
When you purposely post stuff you know is bullshit solely for the intent of starting shit, the blame falls on you. Mitch does this all the time, then plays the victim card when he gets what he asked for.

I said this in the other thread too. This is going to get really bad if they don't put an end to it.
Nothing loses support for a cause like hurting those that are part of the cause in the false name of justice.
Yea I mean...if your solution is to shoot/kill/arrest/jail these people then you're not dealing with the problem. You're just killing them off and arresting them.
Again...7 bullets in an unarmed person's back. one wasn't enough...not even two or three....are these people trained to shoot to kill?
Personally, I think the more resistance shown by the government, the more this shits gonna grow. You clearly don't understand the other side of this...I know you see these people as worthless members of society who we won't miss if you just end them.
I see a desperate sect of society that has nothing left to lose. So...if your solution is to use our military to mow them down indiscriminately, that might just be the spark that blows the roof off the thing. These people don't give a shit about the election. This people don't give a shit about Biden or Trump.
Are you really this dumb? I mean you're just being the same fucking asshat mitch that destroyed the other thread. Reported.

You always side with police. No matter what.
Do I? Perhaps you need to rethink that.
I will always side with the cops when they have guns drawn, you ignore commands, and you reach into your car. I don't care what race, religion, age, sex, etc you are, you're getting shot. Don't care what he did or didn't say, don't need a bodycam, don't care if he had a knife or didn't, don't care if he was tazed already or wasn't tazed already. None of that matters. Cops have guns on you and you ignore lawful commands, then reach into your car, you're getting shot and it's justified.
The issue when you make cases like this out to be some random black guy got shot randomly by racist cops, you lose all credibility for the cases where that happens.

You don't run from a cop, and you definitely don't ignore their warnings and reach into a vehicle.
What? Since when?

New thread, same old disingenuous posting.

That shootings pretty hard to believe. Then again so was sitting on George Floyds neck for 9 minutes while he suffocated, as was Ahmaud Avery. Others as well.
Still, shooting someone in the back, at close range, who didn't seem violent or attacking the officers? I mean, I guess wait for the police bodycam video. Fortunately, he did survive it seems.
Your kidding, right? Cops have guns drawn and aimed at him. He walked towards his car ignoring all commands, opened the door and reached in and you're surprised he got shot? If that's your stance, then clearly you believe the cops have to wait until one of them gets shot to fire back.

PaSnow wrote:I wasn't a huge fan of the DNC's convention, seemed geared to a milennial audience with alot of Boomer talent with some youth blended in.
They had to do that. There's enough frustration from the youth vote and the far left fringe that they had to do something to keep them on board. Trump's election in 2016 proved that Republicans are willing to overlook a LOT as long as the person wears the right coat. The Democrats are afraid (rightfully) that they'll lose the left fringes, so in a way they're trying to get them to do the same thing.
The difference is that the 2016 GOP appealed to the fringe while correctly assuming the more centrist members would stay on board; the 2020 Democrats are appealing to the center while assuming the fringe would stay on board. They're trying to throw their overlooked group a bone to make sure they stay.
I just read a great article today, and before I link to it, I'd like to pose a question.
Republican members: What does your party stand for? What does it believe? What does it mean to be a Republican?
As a centrist libertarian who has at times after approaching the age of reason been associated with both the Democrats and Republicans, I'm honestly unable to define it, so I'd like your input.
You're not going to get much of a response to this for a few reasons. One is that there are few Republicans (or at least people that have declared Republican) on this board. Secondly as soon as someone posts something even remotely pro-Republican, they get immediately blasted by the left. It's how it happens in the real world too, so most people that are even Libertarian choose to stay quiet in our cancel culture world we live in.
If a Republican (a regular voter at least) were to answer the question, they are for keeping what they have, which is better than what the Democrats want them to have.
The good news is those people vote. So while the polls keep saying whatever the polls say, people still show up. Just because they don't want to deal with getting blasted on social media doesn't mean they don't exist.
Neither party stands for anything these days other than getting more power by whatever means necessary. That's the answer to your question that nobody will give you. The Democrats will pretend they care about the people (they don't) and the Republicans won't pretend to care about the people (at least not the middle class), they will just ignore them. Democrats will continue to screw their own voters; their voters will continue to vote for them anyway even though they do nothing to improve their lives. It's one giant clusterfuck.
Somehow the Democratic platform has evolved into "We've proven we can't make your lives better, but we can make sure people better off than you (but not the rich because well, we're rich too) are dragged down to your level" and it's seemingly working. Somewhat fascinating to watch, but troubling. Eventually the regular people will figure it out; or socialism will ultimately destroy what's left of the country (like it does everywhere) and nobody will like what happens after that. Republican voters are voting against that.
