For those that skipped this one, thinking you've already heard these tracks:

These aren't demos, they're finished songs with professional mixes and great sound quality from the year 2000.

I'm looking forward to disc 2 because disc 3 had great sound quality too.

So far the biggest disappointment for me as far as tracks with vocals not being on the album is Atlas.  I love that song.

I always thought Riad was Oklahoma.

2 very different tracks.

Just 2 kick ass rockers.

Yeah I got that when it became Berlin but for a long time Riad sounded like Oklahoma.

Also Bazs description of The General was something pretty heavy.

And at the time, people thought that Baz was blowing smoke when he talked about Axl having 3 albums worth of material.  Turns out he was right.

Do any of the tracks have vocals?

These songs are great and I love them. But they needed those Bucket solos. There’s not one memorable solo in this bunch. Hell Silkworms and Prostitute don’t even have solos and the title track has a 5-second burst of screech. The best solos aren’t even from a member of the band.

GNR songs are known for their long, kickass solos. There are none here.

Bucket could have slapped solos on those songs in a week. bucket

Yep and still would've had plenty of time for a few nunchuck breaks in the studio.

I think Atlas is stronger than:  Rhiad, Scraped and Shacklers.  But like you said, it does have a similar vibe to a lot of other tracks and to add some variety to the record that would make sense why it was scrapped (not to be confused with scraped) from the final track list.

Anybody noticed the different lyrics to Atlas?
Instead of "I'll be the last to say don't follow your heart" it's "Don't think I've ever said don't follow your heart"

I didn't notice that but thanks for pointing it out.  Atlas is by far my favorite track out of which songs with lyrics have surfaced in the last two months.  Atlas was ultimately cut from CD due to the runtime of the album being too long, but I wonder whom the driving force was to keep some of the other tracks on the album and to drop Atlas from it.  Axl, management or the label?

I'll do it if they end up announcing a date in PA that I can go to.

This year Christmas isn't in December for GNR fans, it's in September.  I love it!

Thoughts of EQ’d toms excite.
“PRL” without “Thyme”? Delight!

We knew that “Black Frog” published songs,
Now “BLK/FRG” DATs are rock’s King Kongs.

This is not a drill! “The Rebel”’s not a mix!
So now we wait for our musical fix.

So thank you, unknown benefactor.
You bring the songs we all are after.

Namaste.

love it.
