#51 Re: Guns N' Roses » Leaked GN'R Songs Thread » 618 weeks ago

The remixes are interesting, Ron's being the best. DJ's is trying hard to be epic. Going Down is pretty bland, nothing really exciting or interesting, but it's also not terrible. They are all better than Blood in the Water, which is complete rubbish.

I don't like the stage set, it's too busy, too tacky and it doesn't read hard rock - or anything remotely related to rock - at all. It's like a cheap pop production that even Katy Perry or Kesha would turn down.

It will never happen. Anything that promotes Slash, or further links him to GNR, will be kept buried.

They've sent out a questionnaire to people, I can't be bothered to fill it in. I get the sense this is one big market research ploy. If it leads to more stuff getting released, fair enough, but the site itself doesn't seem interesting at all.

I never EVER imagined that Axl Rose would get plastic surgery, it blows my mind.

I wasn't aware he had anything done to him until I started looking into some of the later shows on youtube and I noticed that wasn't just him getting older. Did he get surgery back in '00 or something? Especially when you look at that mugshot from '98 and then fast forward a few years. Looks like a completely different person. I do lose a ton of respect for people that do that shit to themselves unless it's needed to cover up a serious injury done to the part of the body. For alot of celebs, it becomes an addiction.

He got a facelift, his eye-shape has changed, it's wider, which is a sign. He probably does other treatments as well, like botox and chemical peels. It makes me think of the verse in What Do You Want To Be

And ya ain't been out in days
Will the sunshine burn your face
Preserve your precious skin
I'll go out, you stay in

He clearly has a complex about his skin.

I haven't lost respect for him though - I stopped seeing him as an heroic badass figure, a long long time ago. It's more sad than anything else. It's an indication of his self-esteem and head-space being very low, and I wouldn't wish that kind of insecurity on anyone. It can eat you up. Spending all that time in hiding probably didn't help, so it's good to see him out and about.

#56 Re: Guns N' Roses » Skwerl's post on MyGNR regarding his leak and his source » 650 weeks ago

roll Why does it take all this leaking drama for Axl to release something? I'm tempted to think it's a PR stunt from Uni and they're trying to generate some hype/interest. But it's more likely that Axl just plan won't put out the 10 songs unless his hand is forced.

If these new songs are going to leak, I hope it's soon.

#57 Re: Guns N' Roses » Axl On Kimmel Oct 24th, Live Interview! » 650 weeks ago

I would prefer Jian.

One radio, one print, one tv. So there was a bigger promotional plan for the Vegas shows, interesting. I guess Kimmel was the safest of the three.  It may have been Team Brazil, but they have a publicist from The Agency Group, so it could have been someone from there. Either way, I'm surprised they were thinking that big.

It sounds dull. I don't think this is the right demo for such a site, but for a moment I thought it could actually be good and successful. Unless Axl starts posting it will flop.

It's strange that just one tweet is there, Slash has obviously done more, so it's not linked to his account. I think they just name dropped Duff and Slash to try and increase participation/hype.

#59 Re: The Sunset Strip » Slash says Scott Weiland has been "FIRED" from Stone Temple Pilots » 650 weeks ago

It would be interesting to hear Slash's frank thoughts on Axl, but I understand why he keeps things diplomatic.

I think drugs is more of an issue with Scott, that's why there's so much disdain. I noticed his comments about Rod Jackson were pretty harsh, called him a useless druggie, and Steven said something interesting in a recent interview.

Slash came into the studio at one point to play guitar on Just Don't Ask. "For me to be a part of Slash's life, I had to get my life together," says Adler. "Slash was proud of me for how I was able to take care of myself. It was so nice to be living in the present with him. The whole thing was like a dream come true."

If Slash is willing to cut Steven out for not being clean, he will have no qualms about Scott.

Yeah, the exclusivity is a bit off putting, but I'm also curious about Slash and Duff's possible involvement. Is the site still publishing Slash's twitter? What about Duff, any activity from him?
