Interesting stuff.

Quite like the tone. Did someone once describe Atlas as a glam rock November Rain?

Could fit I guess.

Can your contact be pressed for further info?

Edit - You mind if I pass this around the forums, or is there a chance to get more from your contact?

No worries, pass it about

The person I got the tip off from will not know anything more. It's just an old friend I work with from time to time

Someone sent me this which I thought was vaguely interesting. It is a sequence of instrumental music owned by Universal Music entitled 'Atlas Shrugged'. Are sequences recorded for GN'R owned by the record company? I do not know. I think it is probably nothing, but I thought I would post it anyway as it is quiet just now

Ides of March was incomplete then, and is still unlikely to appear on the next album

If you were Axl, would you want to appear as a secondary to Slash, or would you want Slash to appear as a secondary to you.

Interesting thread, but I think it brings even more proof into the theory that there never really was a big vault.

Axl himself said it, there was basically one more album, CD II, and that's probably it. Whatever left overs are still out there will be saved for a Special Edition as "Bucket Chunks" or something like that, a mish-mash of discarded B-Sides mixed with instrumentals, some remixes, and maybe a cover or two.

That's it.

Part of me wonders if Axl can get this out, whether it be a 2-CD or an LP + Incesticide-style EP, if Axl will go ahead and box up the new Guns era, and focus on either reuniting for nostalgia and a big pay day -- THEN retire.

As at the point when our forum existed (10 years ago), there were two albums worth of near complete songs, and a third album that required more work (some songs near complete, alongside others that required more work done). This information came from Sanctuary, at the time

Move forward 10 years, all the members offer their own songs, Axl rejects 95 per cent of them, so you can possibly add another 3-6 songs into the equation, but they would need Axl-fying, which would require Axl working on the songs.

Given no external musicians have been hired for ages, no major work has been done to any new tracks for a long time. So CD2 has to be the focus right now

The question is, can Axl release an album. His hand was forced with UYI and CD, there is no such pressure now, apart from the band members and us.

Intentions and chatter are all great, but there is nothing solid out there in terms of evidence.

One of the home studios is probably being used for recording, and nothing has been sent out for mastering yet.

There is no news without noise.

Have you heard anything of the potential material? Is it the old stuff from the Buckethead era that's just been reworked and reworked with any new band member adding a bit here and there, or is there a chance of some brand new stuff amongst it?

I'm way more interested in the vault material than music by this lineup.

No chatter or noise implies it will be mainly completed vault material.

I cannot offer anything else though.

Ok, there appears to be an intention of releasing new music next year, so I might start rolling with the Splat thing in the new year.

I'll take a look in January and make a decision then.

#659 Re: Guns N' Roses » Ron leaving the band after Vegas? » 615 weeks ago

CD was a three album plan, and it was a cool three album plan. Ron joined during this era, and it left open the possibility for Ron to record music for the trilogy.

It has not happened. You can understand why Ron would be a little miffed.

Allegedly, Axl is yet to release music willingly, of his own accord, and he now has Beta and co as managers, who are never going to force him to do anything.

Where they go from here, I do not know. Axl has to be happy and release something, but it is unlikely, unless his fellow band members force him to do it.

Maybe that is Bumblefoot's plan, I do not know. If it is, then maybe support him.

Who knows

Cool. There's also word he's doing some added recording in LA right now. Do we know if we're looking at a long album? Like 15-17 track album?

We can only go on what Sanctuary told us years ago, there were about 35 songs, which represented two and a half albums, so it will be same again, I guess.

Edit: And it appears the Palms information is possibly correct
