Probably not, which actually makes it worse, now he's just a big giant douche...

I'm sorta in the same position as mikkamakka... I used to be a huge fan (of Axl as well as Slash) but I just can't bring myself to respect him as a person or musician anymore. Sad really, how one can lose that much goodwill.

That's actually something I've been wondering.  I'm looking into going to the States for a 2 week vacation somewhere this year and I'd really like to show my gf New York (she's never been there).
But I would also love to see some of the east coast (LA, SF, maybe some national parks) so I was thinking about doing a 4 or 5 day sting in NY and then flying to LA or something like that.
Any of you Americans an idea if that's "economically feasible" smile?

I'm lucky enough to be in a position where I get to travel a lot for business and pleasure, so let's see... I am from Belgium, and have been to (most of them multiple times):

In Europe:
  The Netherlands
  The UK
  Germany
  France
Spain (mainland Spain, but also Tenerife, Gran Canaria, ...)
  Italy
  Poland
  Russia (Moscow)
  Estonia
  Sweden
  Denmark
  Austria
  Switzerland
  Luxembourg
And I'm going to Croatia next week

In Africa:
  South-Africa (Johannesburg, Capetown, Durban)
  The United Arab Emirates (Dubai)
  Saudi Arabia (Riyadh)

In the America's:
The US (New York, El Paso, Orlando, Miami, Dallas, Chicago, hope to see the east coast this year)
  Mexico
  Cuba
Brazil (Rio de Janeiro, Bello Horizonte)

Haven't been to Asia or Australia/New Zealand yet, very much looking forward to doing that in the not so far away future (should be hitting Seoul/South Korea) before the end of this year...)

This guy is a nobody and absolutely not talented. He got a chance and 2 songs, then took the opportunity to market himself.

They can't get a good male singer for sure, since Lenny said no to their offer. I really think Slash should change his attitude and get a lady who can sing. Even Elan would be fantastic, and a bluesy VR with Linda Perry would be heaven. Anyway, it's easier to find a great female singer today than a man with charisma, talent, voice and good song/lyrics-writing ability.

Yeah, would be cool to have someone like Linda Perry or Pink front the band. Hell, I loved his collabs with Fergie, wouldn't even mind her (although that's not very likely to happen wink ).

You're in love. It might sound cheesy and cliché, but you're just in love. You like him more than you're willing to admit to yourself so you're having difficulties explaining your feelings.

Admitting it to yourself is the first step you have to take, it frees you up to start thinking about how you're going to act on it. I might be the wrong guy to (try and) give advice about this sort of thing, but as far as I'm concerned you can't have any scruples about this shit. Act on your feelings, it's too important and you will end up wondering what could've been...

Ugh, maybe I'm just feeling a tad too melancholic right now. Might have to post my own rant later on wink.

Who's profile is that? It's currently undergoing "maintenance", so I can't check it out hmm

#668 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » VR Audition with Gord Prior » 850 weeks ago

Not impressed either. They can get an Axl clone as far as I'm concerned - no need to keep reinventing yourself, you are what you are. However, this guy's not good enough an Axl clone to withstand the comparisons.

Furthermore, I don't really like his melodies. Not interesting enough.

*edit* This might sound ridiculous, but they needs someone along the lines of Jack Black. He's not the worlds best vocalist, but definitely talented enough and fuckin' creative within the confines of a no-holds-barred rock context.

Nice, did you manually select the outline of the guitar?

#670 Re: The Garden » HELP: Protools » 851 weeks ago

Yeah, you're right. ProTools is the industry standard, and it is easier to move projects from one PT system to another than from PT to another DAW. But the digidesign hardware (in the affordable price range, that is) is really not that good. Especially the pre-amps and converters are pretty low-end. Not a good thing for that price. I think you're better off with brands like Motu, Presonus or Focusrite in that category. None of them will work with protools.

As for moving projects between DAW's: just export to BWF (Broadcast Wave Format), that's a format that every DAW supports. Just remember to "render" or "freeze" your tracks before exporting and you should be fine.
