Those things about BF, remixalbum, DVD and follow-up to CD seems plausible, but anyone of us could have come up with that situation based on tidbits of info over the past years.
Doesn't really matter to me if it's true or not. The next releases from GNR will get here when they get here (or not) regardless. I won't get carried away on another CD-saga-waiting-game again! Doesn't mean I won't be all over it when things finally get released!
I'll go with whatever is going on at the moment. Now, I'm excited to see how things go for the gunners down-under!
DJ can mention it all he wants. If you actually hold any kind of serious weight with DJ's statements you need to check yourself.
Every single GN'R member, including Ron has stated numerous times that they have absolutely no influence, nor any idea of the business goings on of GN'R.
They truely are hired Guns. They are informed by Axl where to go and what to play once everything is set in motion. He and his camp handles all business & touring dealings with the band.
Probably the reason Axl has about 7 trailers and a total lavish setup on the road, while the rest of the band change in back of a Chevy Astrovan.
Not saying it WILL happen. But DJ has been in this game for many years, and I'm pretty sure he's experienced enough to see when things are moving in the right direction. And since DJ felt it was realistic enough to mention it in public and GNR official twitter mentioning it, it's not a far stretch of the imagination to asume that things have moved a bit further than "NO CHANCE IN HELL, AZOFF WILL BLOCK IT!!!".
With that said, the tour can go to shit without any involment from Azoff. No illusions there!

Damn! Your post was kinda fair and balanced, then you went all stupid-old-anti-Axl-jibberish on us!

i'm sure azoff or that situation has at least some part to play in GnR not performing or representing in the USA..
Sure, it could be. But it could also very well be that GNR thought: "lets just tour the world first and show promoters in the US that GNR can still put draw some big-ass crowds and play some kick-ass shows without much fuck-ups!" And compared to previous tours, the past year have been "incident-free-walk-in-the-park"-great!
In fact, things have gone so great, that some diehard forum junkies actually seemed bored at certain legs of the tour...

I can remember playing Better to lots of different people back when it leaked. From colleagues (I used to be the manager at a recordstore) to my girlfriend's girlfriends(!). And lots of them raved about the track.
So I've always been of the opinion that had that song been released as a single and been treated (by the band and label) as a single, it could have been a hit.
I don't see it making much diffrence had it been the "demo" or the actual song we have now. To the average Joe, it's the same song.
The only diffrence between the two that I miss, is the slightly altered lyrics. Would have liked the "I know you know I know Better. You know I know you know Better"-part to have made the final cut!

Naltav wrote:Wow!!
You're waaaay to personally involved, dude! The anger and venomous bashing of Axl and people who support him is outta of every logical and common sense of control. The bashing you have come up with here in the past months could fit a novel! I mean literally! I'm very sure your energy and time could be better spent.
Your theories on the Duff-incident in London leading to your precious reunion, must have taken a serious hit and tipped you right over the edge.
The behind the scenes ongoings, legal, financial and personal matters in GNR shouldn't mean this much to ANYONE! It really really shouldn't.
Take a break man!
You are such a fucking tool man. Literally you are the worst poster I've seen in many years. This righteous, hollier than thou attitude you present us with is so lame. Like you have more integrity than the rest of us
I'm too personally involved? Personally involved? How is that even possible? ha! Dude the word you're looking for is emotionally involved and it's the guy who does nothing but defend and make excuses for this clown that is. I'm not the one blinded by my infatuation with Axl. I call a spade a spade. Thanks for quoteing all my spades. Must've taken ya quite a while to put that together. Seems someone is a little too emotional involved in other areas as well.
Yes, emotionally is prolly the word I was looking for. English is not my first language, but you're a pretty smart guy, so you understood what I meant.
I'm not the one blinded by my infatuation with Axl. I call a spade a spade.
Go read my comments on the two gigs I went to in Norway earlier in the year. I can dish up some critic when I feel it's due. But I won't let it eat me up...
Thanks for quoteing all my spades. Must've taken ya quite a while to put that together. Seems someone is a little too emotional involved in other areas as well.
With handy keyboard shortcuts, copy/paste and two browsers, it's literally only like a minute or two. But hey, whatever floats your boat man!

Is that really the only pic of them all together off stage??
It's the only one I've ever seen, and it isn't even covering the current band.
As far as I know! Sadly!
it isn't even covering the current band.
The challange mentioned nothing of it having to be the current lineup!

Axl has no right to attempt to interfere or demand a say over the commercial activities and agreements between Activision and a completely seperate band to whom he has no link.
I'm pretty sure similar deals like that happen all the time in various markeds.
For exampel: a little while ago I watched a documentary on fastfood in US schools. If a school signed a deal with one softdrink maker they could only sell drinks from that specific brand.
Here in Norway there was a similar case where a cheesemaking company tried to deter a chain of stores from selling a spesific cheese from another company.
Whether or not GNR has a rock solid case is another thing. Especially if the agreements are made on a "he-said-she-said-then-he-came-and-cried-for-forgiveness"-type level...
