The latest Foxy album is a grower, but their self titled album in my opinion is the best album I own.
I had become bored of the rock scene, then all of a sudden *bam*.
Modern day classic.
Only just got the album but I agree it's a grower. Love the holy touch video as well!

Nothing wrong with tongue in cheek, I'll be seeing Steel Panther in a few weeks, and I think they're hilarious.
I just think the band that this thread was started about, look like a bunch of dorks, and the only 'fun' I see in them is at their expense and not in a good way.
There are too many 'dork' bands flooding the airwaves these days, and I'd rather see a kick ass rock band come out that doesn't take themselves too seriously, than a bunch of pretentious college nerds trying to be hip, by poking fun at the genre.
They're not that, I guarantee.
Yeah it's all subjective I suppose, but they're genuinely a good band with some catchy material who bring a smile to your face.
Definitely not andrew wk either.
As for rock being 'cool' when i first started listening to rock music it had nothing to do with being 'cool'.
Axl's tracksuit / cornrow look is the end result of someone trying to be 'cool'.

well, here is this today from Dizzy on Billboard...as usual no concrete plans.
And how about work on a follow-up to 2008's "Chinese Democracy?" "There are some clamoring and rumors that we might be getting some material together here after we do this little (theater) run, so we'll see what happens," Reed says. "I just go with the flow. I'm always recording and stuff. If it happens it will be really fun and cool. I love creating stuff with all the guys. And there was so much material that didn't make it onto ('Chinese Democracy'). From what I remember there were a lot of really cool songs; I can only hope that some of that stuff does resurface and gets worked out."
The curse of Chinese democracy remains! 3 years after the album has been released were still asking when?
Get the best of the rest out there and start afresh.

Apparently Scabbie doesn't realize they are doing a parody of rock.
Nothing more than a PG-rated, hipster-infused version of Steel Panther.
Fail
For crying out loud!
I know they're not serious. Thats the whole point, they're fun. Like old AC/DC was fun and Queen was fun (think Big Bottom Girls etc), even like going to a Rammstein gig is a whole load of fun.
Monkeychow - check out their last album 'Foxy Shazam'. They're currently on tour with the Darkness, Justin Hawkins produced this latest album.
It actually reminds me when the Darkness first came out. People either loved or hated them. Great for arguing with your friends!

Riad wrote:They are also likely to use their time in Ireland to rehearse songs for an anticipated follow-up to their last album Chinese Democracy which took 13 years to complete. “The band like Ireland, they like playing here,” Desmond added. “I think he’s going to come back and deliver an 11 out of 10 show.”
BOOOOOOM

Can't believe I missed this. That's pretty friggin cool.
Not 'write' but 'rehearse'? Interesting.

I've noticed Metallica are planning a tour of Europe in the coming months. I have heard they're also gonna be recording during 2012.
So are they touring Death Magnetic from 2008? No, the Lou Reed album doesen't count! No, they're touring with their hits (actually they're litteraly touring The Black Album from 1991, playing the whole album start to finish!) and playing songs the fans want to hear and see.
Last time I saw Metallica I actually was a little bored. Seemed like the same ol' routine, nothing really grabbed me.
The time before though I really enjoyed it. They played master of puppets the whole way through. I'd quite like to see them play the black album all through as part of the download festival.
I hope playing estranged and civil war has encouraged Axl to think about playing more uyi tracks. Because if there is no new album then I'd like to see breakdown, locomotive, pretty tied up etc in the set. That would get me really excited!
