Oh and by the way, did I mention how much I fucking love this song? It kicks major ass!
Exactly, i think most people are missing this point.
This is only for the 360 now, so they biggest push for this game hasn't even been seen yet. For right now, it's just X-Box promoting it, but later we are going to see PS3 and Wii promoting the living shit out of this thing. Also, a lot of kids will want this for Christmas, so there's another huge push.
I do agree that they are missing out on a good opportunity to really start promoting it early, but it's not 'too late' now.
I'm kinda dissapionted SR isn't on any commercials though.
Yeah I know, I saw the commercial today with the ACDC song in it. Even though you couldn't really hear the song that well and it only played for 10 seconds or so (at least it seemed that way) it would be cool to have a commercial with Shackler's playing in it.

I think this opinion is very accurate. Next month (maybe as late as mid-November) or not this year.
I'm down with that. I'm certainly not gonna give up on Monday like some people have suggested. There's still SOME time to get things accomplished. Give them another month or so, then we repeat the cycle for 2009. Hopefully not though.

Well, on the bright side, there's not a better time for a season ending injury than in week 1 (or pre-season). At least the team has time to adjust for the entire season, AND the player has more time to recover. 6-9 months from January would put the beginning of the next season in doubt. This way, he should have plenty of time to be ready for next year.
If Cassel doesn't fall flat on his face, which remains to be seen, the Patriots should get better as the season goes along and they get accustomed to having a new man at the helm. I would expect them to come out and play with a lot of emotion this week against the Jets. After that they could have a letdown. But barring any more serious injuries I would expect them to improve with time. Of course, this could be the beginning of one of those lost seasons that are just marred with injuries. I sure hope not though.

I think it will be released someday. Unfortunately it'll be after Axl has passed (Which I hope won't be anytime soon as I wouldn't wish death on anyone). Other than that I don't think it'll be released.
See I don't share that view. I do believe it'll come out someday before Axl passes. I really don't think Axl is blocking the release, or that whatever legal battles they're fighting can't be overcome SOMEDAY.
I hope to hell it's released this year but it'd be tough to bet on it when we haven't really heard anything to make us believe that. I mean, the Rock Band thing is great, the Best Buy thing is great, the possible aim for a November release is great. But right now "Shackler's Revenge" is the only guarantee for this year. And we've only got 3 1/2 months left. I'd have to assume we'd need to get an announcement sometime soon. Axl did say there would be promotion and it wouldn't just show up in music stores one Tuesday, so I would think the promotional vehicle would have to start pretty soon if 2008 is the plan.

No
I'm still not sure that Axl has the balls to lay it all on the line and finally be judged by putting the music out there.
I think SR is another market tester (like oh my god), if it doesn't go as well as he wants I think he will take his bat and ball and go home again for a couple more years.
Of course I would love to be made to eat humble pie on this!
Don't they have to release the song as a sinlge or something to follow through with the so called market test? Are video game rips usually played on the radio?

How dare you James. The only way that happens is if Brady goes down. If that happens, I might be right there with you. He's quite durable though, so I don't count on that happening.
Whoa! Talk about famous last words!
Yeah, I tell ya. It was so weird. I was at the game and I was behind the opposite endzone so I didn't have a great view of the play, plus I was focussed on Randy Moss catching the ball and then fumbling it. Then I realized the fumble was the least of our problems. But it's just strange the course of events that led up to it. He didn't play at all in the pre-season due to a minor foot injury, but more due to the fact that they didn't start their usual offensive line and he probably would've gotten injured then anyway. But then he's taken off the injury report altogether for the first time in 2 years. It's been a running joke that he's been "probable" with a "shoulder" injury for the last 2 years. All of a sudden they take him off the list and he gets knocked out for the season. He had started like 128 straight games or something ridiculous. Plus in the pre-season Matt Cassel looked so bad behind a second rate offensive line, mostly made up of backups, that Patriot fans were calling for him to be cut and for us to go out and get a veteran backup "just in case". Then somehow Cassel doesn't get cut, Brady gets hurt, and Matt is now our starter. And the craziest thing of all is, I now have confidence in Cassel and the Patriots to still make the playoffs, win the AFC East, tally double digit victories. My worst nightmare came true last Sunday, but I'm not giving up hope. In fact, now that just about everybody is doubting the Patriots I would love nothing more than to prove them all wrong. I could go into specifics but I'll spare you for now. Let's just say, take a close look at the 2001 Patriots when Tom Brady took over for Drew Bledsoe after Mo Lewis knocked him on his ass. THIS team is a LOT better than that one, and they won the Super Bowl. And before you say, well they had Tom Brady, look at his stats for that year. Far from impressive if I do say so myself, aside from the completion percentage. Patriot fans, and NFL fans alike were spoiled with insane offensive production last year that they forget you don't need a record setting offense to win the Super Bowl. The Patriots had the best offense in the league last year to say the least, the Cowboys and Packers were great offenses in the NFC. But it was the Giants who won it all with solid defense and a great game plan that they executed to perfection. It can be done. I'm not making any so called predictions here, I'm just saying, don't be so quick to count out the New England Patriots. I do think they will be heard from this season.

i wish i woulda did some research before the draft ... half my dudes are hurt or coming off injuries
Wow Neemo, Laverneus Coles and Wes Welker had horrible days!! That sucks, were they injured or was it just one of those things??
Anyway it seems just those 2 killed you this weekend. Welker may have missed Tom Brady.
Welker coughed the ball up once, which didn't help. The loss of Brady will no doubt hurt his fantasy value a bit. The fantasy prognosticators are saying he drops from a clear #2 to a #3 with Cassel in the lineup. Favre didn't have a huge day passing for the Jets either, thus Coles not having a huge day. I wouldn't expect big time numbers for a few weeks. He's still getting accustomed to the offense.
I found out I lost Colston for 4-6 weeks this morning. My #1 WR, not good. I've gotta start rookie Eddie Royal for now. He had a monster week 1 with Brandon Marshall out against the hapless Raiders. Hopefully he can continue that, but there have been lots of guys to have great debuts that have just fallen by the wayside, so I'm not getting my hopes up. I'm still in search of a 3rd WR. Santonio Holmes had a piss poor game for me too, what's up with that? I was at the Patriots game so I didn't really get to analyze any of the Sunday games. I just realized he only had 19 yards receiving. That's not gonna cut it. No wonder I had such a bad week.

Why would anyone think otherwise at this point when it comes to this album?
Classic case of the boy who cried wolf. Even when and if (huge "if," of course) the official announcement comes from Universal, plenty of us will STILL not believe it's coming out until we actually own it.
Funny, we just had the same thought, 20 seconds apart. After 9+ years of waiting I wouldn't be surprised to get a firm release date and then have something happen to push that back, and back, and back some more.
#6749 Re: Guns N' Roses » Do you believe CD will come out in 08? » 876 weeks ago
There's no way I'd bet any money on it. I've learned my lesson over the years. I'm still holding out hope, but I've gotta be somewhat realistic. Time is running out. I don't think I'll believe it's coming out until it's actually in my hands, even if they announce a release date.
#6750 Re: The Garden » 2008 NFL season » 876 weeks ago
The Packers looked pretty good last night. The score wouldnt have even been as close as it was if they would have quit shooting themselves in the foot. They'll have to correct that because not every game will be like that. Some team will take advantage of those mistakes.
Re: the Colts, I think alot of it boils down to rust. How long has Peyton been practicing? The Bears were impressive however, take nothing from them.
I'm not so sure how much I buy the rust factor for the Colts. It's not like Manning isn't very familiar with the system they run and the guys on the team. How much practice does he really need? I honestly don't know, maybe a lot. Did he not practice at all this summer? I didn't even realize that was a home game, opening a new stadium to boot. I just assumed it was at Chicago when I saw they were winning. Maybe the Bears are better than I thought, or maybe the Colts are worse. Everyone seems to want to give them a pass though.
