Damn! Whish I would've come up with that analogy!
Why? It is absolutely flawed. It's more akin to Coke committing to coming to a soft-drink convention as long as Pepsi isn't coming, but Mountain Dew, Seven-Up, Sprite, ... etc... are all fine (ignoring the fact that most are owned by the same set of companies). It's a guitar hero game, there is bound to be competition for your band and it's the nature of the format that bands who commit songs have no other say in the rest of the product's execution.
Nah! I thought it was a good one.

find me one 'official' band picture with Gun N Roses over it that does not include Slash.

(Sorry! Couldn't help myself!)

Funny stuff!
The cool thing about setting these kinds of rules for the contest, is you get 100% fans that are dying to win!

Ask an avarage rockfan in a few months what that Activision-lawsuit was all about. They'll go: "What lawsuit?!"
The hatred shown by some of the usual suspects in this thread borders on insane, to the point where I'm almost concerned for their mental wellbeing.
The easy access that modern technology has brought us, like legal documents flying around the world minutes after being filed, is not necessarily a good thing in every case. Could be a distraction from what actually concerns and affects you personally.
Wow! You seriously need help dude. Axlin said brainwashed but that's an understatement.
Really?
Let's see...
Quick and easy copy and paste of quotes from this thread alone:
It's pathetic and I think it clearly shows he has some serious mental issues
he needs help
Either he's just naturally mentally sick or the leaches that surround him have severly poisoned his mind.
the guys currently in Guns N' Roses are also probably embarassed about this.
I'm literally blown away by the stupidity of all of this.
Oh and as for Axl's net worth of $200 million..... BULL FUCKING SHIT!
the dude obviously needs money.
This is nothing more than a deranged lunatic trying to convince the world that original Guns N' Roses never existed.
who the fuck does Axl think people associate Jungle with?
This whole thing is such a joke.
It's well beyond my capacity to understand how on earth anyone can side with Axl on this
Slash himself has done more than Axl to keep the Gn'R popularity going.
I love how the irony of it all is completely lost on Axl and his peeps.
Axl bitches and moans about misperception in the media
Axl continues to pull these jerkoff stunts.
You couldn't write a more laugable situation
honestly he looks like such a twat
This is just beyond ridiculous.
I'll bet he needs money.
or his leaches feel they need more money.
This is all about money and greed has NOTHING to do with any type fo integrity whatsoever.
this is gonna paint Axl as a sniveling whiney little bitch
The only positive thing Axl can get out of this is a nice little payday
The guy and the people he surrounds himself with business wise are complete and utter clowns.
hahahahahaha! Talk about fucking yourself right in the ass.
Honestly they have got to be the dumbest most insecure people on the planet.
The guys is a clown
I honestly believe the guys in the band probably look at this and think it's douchey as well.
NOTHING Axl does will change it. Not now, not ever. Slash IS ALWAYS going to be known as former/original Guns N' Roses' lead guitarst.
he can't pull bullshit stunts like this lawsuit to try and erase Slash.
Axl needs a swift kick in the head.
He's in sucha fantasy world and he's lost all grasp on reality.
Slash IS Guns N' Roses every bit as much as Axl
It's the wrong move on his part end of story cause he can't possibly get the results he wants.
Axl's just after some quick cash.
Wow!!
You're waaaay to personally involved, dude! The anger and venomous bashing of Axl and people who support him is outta of every logical and common sense of control. The bashing you have come up with here in the past months could fit a novel! I mean literally! I'm very sure your energy and time could be better spent.
Your theories on the Duff-incident in London leading to your precious reunion, must have taken a serious hit and tipped you right over the edge.
The behind the scenes ongoings, legal, financial and personal matters in GNR shouldn't mean this much to ANYONE! It really really shouldn't.
Take a break man!

have you read what the rest of the world is saying? What's here is mild. Its a universal thumbs down for Axl, people seem genuinely enraged with him.
It's not exactly earth shattering news that people hate Axl Rose. That's been the story for the last 15 years. And neither Slash nor Axl himself has done very much to lessen that hatred. I haven't read the comments. I don't care about the comments. I'm not the least surprised by the comments. I honestly don't think Axl cares what general music fans feel about him. If he does, he's doing a terrible job of showing it. He's got enough hardcore fans that will still buy into whatever it is that he's selling. I know that number seems to be dwindling by the day, but they still put on large shows across the world (outside of the US), despite all the hatred for him. They got bottled off the stage in Dublin, yet they soldiered on. I somehow doubt a few nasty comments on the internet are going to have the slightest impact on how Axl handles himself in the future.
Look, I'd much rather be talking about releasing new music, or US tour dates, or SOMETHING, ANYTHING positive. But this has been the story for the last decade plus. Nobody should be surprised anymore. I don't see the reason to get all upset about this. I'm numb to it by now. Luckily they get back on the road in a few weeks so we have something else to talk about, because I could honestly care less about all this nonsense. Axl's gonna do what he's gonna do. That's fine with me. I have no say in that, nor should I. Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
Amen to that!

Same thing VH1 did with the Behind the Music. Axl was involved, started wasting their time trying to Hitler the whole fuckin' thing because only HIS opinion matters, and when they realized Axl was going nowhere with it, they called Slash and he got all buttsore.
Who gave that story? Don't remember seeing/hearing anything about this.
#678 Re: Guns N' Roses » Axl Rose Suing Activision / Guitar Hero » 761 weeks ago
...To be honest I was a little surprised the way GH3 came out with the GNR+Slash emphasis...
I remember also being a bit puzzled about the strong GNR+Slash connection.
All common sense in the world tells us and the avarage rock fan, that there's no problem with it. But knowing what we know about who ultimately has the final say in anything concerning GNR, I was puzzled that the game turned out the way it did.
But if Activision did Axl wrong, I can understand him reacting.
And it's far from the first time artists have complaints about these games.
Courtney Love threw a hissyfit when it became clear that you could play as Kurt Cobain and make him sing/play Bon Jovi songs (or whatever it was)
And Activision have been in several other disputes where their ways of doing buisness and treating people are questionable...
Whether or not it's a smart move on Axl's part to take a giant company like that to court, is another thing...
#679 Re: Guns N' Roses » Axl Rose Suing Activision / Guitar Hero » 761 weeks ago
...as I and others have said for years now, Axl really needs to start getting some professionals running the business side of things for him rather than family, friends and amateurs. If these negotiations had been handled by professionals and all this was in writing not based on "conversations" between Beta and Acitivsion, the lawsuit would have been a slam dunk for him.
So very true!
But I can understand him feeling the need to take action if being lied to. If only "to deter others from engaging in similar conduct."

Naltav wrote:Bono wrote:so performing the national anthem is a stunt now?
Of course not! That's just silly-talk!
Performing it before dinner on a special occasion amongst friends and family (or something like that) is not a "stunt"
But doing it like this, imo it is. The organizer of the event gets a little extra "show" out of the event. A celebrity performing the National Anthem draws a larger crowd. Which, if repeated again and again, in the end generates more $$$.
The performer gets their image out there, which if repeated again and again generates more $$$.
Just because hiring celebrities to do the National Anthem have become a tradition over the years, doesn't make it any less of a financial publicity "stunt".

Proves only that people love to make money. Shocker!
Bono wrote:If Axl showed up to sing anthem at the Super Bowl...
I would feel let down and disappointed that my favourite artist that in my mind have, over the years conducted himself in a manner that would indicate that he would rise above an easy way for some "air time"...
Complete and utter nonsense, bordering on nauseating pretentious bullshit. Now I've heard it all. Somebody always performs the national anthem at professional sporting events so I guess we've got people being "sellouts" every single game. You'd be let down if Axl performed the National Anthem.... Riiiiight
Next you're gonna tell us you'd be heart broken if Axl sang "Take me out to the ball game" at a Cubs game. My God dude if you think performing the anthem is a cheap and easy way to get some air time why do you even support the band? You obviously have no desire to see them do anything. If you'd be let down with a performance of the national anthem I can only imagine how devestated you'd be with a late night talk show appearance or an SNL appearance or a Super Bowl half time performance. Also if you think having DJ or Slash or any celebrity perform the national anthem at an NFL game generates more revenue by drawing a larger crowd you are seriously dellusional. You honestly sound like tired old cliche when it comes to this stuff. Oh Naltav wouldn't want his favorite artist's integrity jeopardized by performing the national anthem at a public event. It's ok though to do so in the company of friends and family? Again
Who the hell sits around their living room performing the national anthem dude? The national anthem has long been a public performance. Honestly some of the shit you come up with...... I don't get it at all.
For the record seeing Axl sit at a piano singing the Star Spangled Banner at the Super Bowl would be cool as hell.
Sorry, Bono! Your insults have no affect on my views and opinions.
