To be honest, i couldn't see Axl letting Slash, Duff and Izzy all put their own touches on CD, and i couldn't see them accepting that.
The only thing i could see, is maybe Izzy coming in and working on rythym parts for future albums (if there really are more planned for release).
At this point, i don't think the songs will change too much, as we can tell from the first IRS that leaked to our current one. Not a whole lot has been changed in these songs. And not all of them have been improved (ie- Better).
Shackler's Revenge is the most modern sounding song we have, and even the core of that dates back to the late 90's. Better + balls= Shackler's Revenge.
As for Baz running his mouth, it's hilarious that Axl tells him to quit it, and he goes off and tells everyone that. Maybe it's time to rethink the choice of friends....
In Baz's defense, Axl didn't tell him to stop talking altogether. He told him, WHEN he spoke about the album to not say it's 4 albums, it's only one. He's giving him free reign to speak about him and the album, he just wants the correct information getting out there.
I couldn't see the old guys getting on CD either. That wouldn't make any sense.

I voted for I.R.S., that was my personal favorite of the songs I've witnessed Ron play in person. Although my vote may have wavered towards There Was A Time if they played that at MSG in 06. I'd love to hear that live... sometime... soon!

Not so fast. Step one is not complete yet, so we may surpass that decade. Hold on tight!

Oh I believe there are 3-4 albums worth of material, and I believe Sebastian heard that material. He just jumped the gun and assumed they would all be released, if not at once, in pretty quick succession. Sebastian said that awhile back though, I wonder why Axl waited until last week to tell him to cool it with that? Maybe they don't talk all that often these days, as Baz is on tour and such. Or maybe the 4 album thing was a plan at one point. I doubt it though, Baz probably just heard what he thought were finished songs and came to his own conclusions. He was clear that Axl is focussed on the ONE album at the very least. There's obviously more material that could be released down the line, but we've got to take step 1 first.
Just to clarify a few things. Sebastian said it's 100% true that Axl told him that he doesn't have 4 albums ready for release and when he talks about the album to say that he has one record done that he's super proud of and he'll get it out as soon as he can. The DJ also asked him why Axl doesn't go on TV and fight Flavor-Flav (alluding to Baz's many celeb-reality show appearances). Baz said that Axl "doesn't give a fuck about TV dude", that he's old school, sort of like a rocker in the 70's back when there was mystery to musicians. Then the DJ makes fun of Axl and says that he should hang out in the real world sometime because he can't stay secluded forever, and if you stay in "awesome world" you become stagnant and end up braiding your hair. It was pretty funny.

Really, I love the song. I think you're in the minority there madagas, at least around here. I do fear the public will not care for it on first listen. It is a bit shocking at first. I think the chorus is catchy as hell, obviously it's very simple but still. And the lyrics aren't too complex either, but what do you want from a 3 minute song. It's straight and to the point.

Yeah I think we did all assume that 4 albums weren't gonna be released at once or in quick succession, it is funny though how Axl had to tell him to stop saying that when he's talking about the record.

Sebastian Bach just finished up an interview on Sirius Faction 28 on the Jason Ellis show. He was asked about Axl. He said that he was doing great and that he had heard what he thought were 4 albums worth of material ready for release back in January 2007. He said that he spoke to Axl just last week and that he told him that he didn't have 4 albums ready for release and to please stop saying that when talking about the album. He said he's focussing on the one album and that it will be out when he's ready to release it.
I got excited for a minute, I thought Sebastian was gonna give an actual date, but not to be.
So take that for what it's worth. Nothing groundbreaking, but for anyone who bought into the 4 simultaneous album story, sorry. Speaking of "Sorry", he did reittirate that the song would be on the album.

I dunno. Spreading released songs on the internet is something that is bound to happen, not something they control. Spreading a pre-release leak is something that you have to take care of within your own organisation. Not mr. Skwerl should be in jail, but the guy who gave him the tracks. All skwerl did was distribute them to a wider audience, he didn't leak them - he shouldn't have had them in the first place.
Exactly, this is different then Slash stealing an album or two or a hundred off a shelf back in the 80's. This is stealin UNRELEASED material. That means nobody has had a chance to buy the material yet. The band hasn't made one cent off the material and people have it already. And yeah I know, EVERY album leaks these days. Usually those albums have a release date though and it usually leaks right around that date, no?
And I love how Slash gets flack because he's rich. These artists don't need anymore money right? I assume you've all heard Kid Rock's take on the subject.

You see how ridiculous that line of thinking is?
#6799 Re: Guns N' Roses » **Kevin Cogill Who Leaked 9 GnR Songs Arrested Today** » 878 weeks ago
Yeah I'm not buying the "they're demo's and weren't actually intended for release" excuse. You're telling me if someone leaked a demo "November Rain" back in 1989, a song Axl had worked on for 10 years or so, that would be okay? I think we're getting a little too picky here. Even if they are demo's and they aren't in their finished state, the basic song structure is there. I'm sure a lot of bands have a lot of demo's out there that nobody's heard. Why don't we leak them all, since they're only demo's? Especially for songs that haven't even officially been released yet. Not sure that's the direction we want to go in.

Alright, I misunderstood you. But it's not anything like the Metallica case. Metallica wanted to prevent people from downloading music that they had already released. This is unreleased material that may not even be in its final stages, provided by a former employee of the record company. I agree they're making an example of the guy to prevent future leaks. That's different than making sure people can't download "Welcome to the Jungle".
