Another point I was trying to make about peoples' excitement level on these boards and CD's alleged loss of mystique...most of the people who aren't excited anymore just don't like the music or are lukewarm too it. It is not the bands fault or the media's fault that you personally were expecting something better or were expecting something different or simply got caught in media hype or simply wanted the music 10 years ago. In the end, you heard pretty close to finished stuff and you don't like it. That doesn't mean the music sucks and that no one else on the planet will like it, it simply means you don't like it. There are lots of people that do like it and no ones opinion of the music is more valid than the next persons. It is art and is subjective opinion.
I agree, 2 weeks ago everyone was stoked about a NEW song coming out, one we had never heard of before. People were buying into 4 albums being released, the VMA's. Then no news for a couple weeks and it's back to, "the mystique is gone". The mystique will reappear when news comes out, it always does.

I'm a big Will Ferrell fan, absolutely love "Anchorman". Probably my favorite comedy of all time. But his movies since then haven't come close to that level. They've gotten progressively worse in my opinion. But this one looks like it has potential. Back to the basics and away from the sports themed movies. He and John C. Reilly work well together.

I bought that until Axl's signoff. Blame Canada was so late 90's.

"TWAT" is better, so I'm voting off "Better".

Glad you understand and its nice to have the freedom to post such opinions, even if in the cold light of day the couldve been worded a little more sensibly. I'm not gonna bail on this site as its the only one that I can actually bear to read without become enraged! Being a fan is such a damn frustration sometimes. I'll leave it at that.
Cheers
Locomotive98, first off I'd like to commend you on your grammar, spelling, and the like. You did an amazing job with that post considering you had drank and smoked so much.
And echoing James, the frustration is understandable, it's nothing new. I think we all have our moments where we throw up our hands and say "I give up". But most of us don't really mean it. We're like the battered girlfriend who keeps coming back to get beatdown over and over again.
I'm frustrated that it's taken this long. I mean it is ridiculous when you really stop and think. But I love the new material and can't wait till it's released. But as Tom Petty says, "the waiting is the hardest part".

The Giants traded Jeremy Shockey to the Saints for their 2009 2nd and 5th round picks.
I'm not sure how I feel about it. The Giants did well obviously without him, but as a huge Shockey fan, I hate to see him go.
I think that's a move that should work out for both teams. The Giants should have multiple 2nd round picks in next years draft (unless they traded theirs somewhere along the way), which is always a nice thing not to mention an extra pick on the second day of the draft. Stockpiling picks is always a good idea. They proved they didn't need Shockey last year. It may have been just a coincidence that their season completely turned around when he got hurt but it just seemed like he was more of a problem than a solution at times. Eli thrived without him in the lineup yelling for the ball all the time.
As for Shockey though, he's still a great talent and should get a boost from re-uniting with Sean Payton. And maybe getting away from the bright lights of New York City will do him some good and keep him out of trouble.

It's a typical Redskins move. Make no mistake, Jason Taylor is still a very good player, but trading a 2nd rounder and a future 6th rounder for someone who is going to give you one, two years tops is crazy.
In their defense, or not, however you want to look at it. This could be viewed as a reactionary move, as they had lost DE Phillip Daniels for the season. Not sure if that tipped the scales for them to make the deal but it certainly created an area of need. And Taylor is a GREAT speed pass rusher, so Manning, McNabb, and Romo better beware. He used to give Brady fits. The sixth rounder in 2010 isn't a huge deal, the second rounder next year could prove costly. If Taylor can give them 2 solid years though and they can improve in other areas it may pay off though. That would've been a better package for a "contender" to make. The Patriots (or at least their fans) were salivating at the prospects of landing Taylor. Even though Parcells would probably not have traded him within the division, to the Patriots no less. But for a team like that, giving up a second rounder wouldn't have been as big a deal. Maybe the Redskins view themselves as a contender though and this is one of the few pieces they were missing. Who knows, the NFC is up for grabs as far as I'm concerned. There's no dominant team. Heck there are lots of people who think the defending Super Bowl champs won't win the NFC East or even make the playoffs this year. It's wide open, as it has been the last couple years.

Wow. If he had Superbowl aspirations, they just went down the toilet by going to Washington.
I think the Giants proved last season that pretty much any team has a shot at winning the Super Bowl if everything falls into place. They were a mess after the first 6 games or so, people wanted Coughlin gone, Eli benched, and we know how that ended. So anything can happen.
Though I'd have to agree with you, I'd be REAL surprised if the Skins made a serious run, especially being in that division.
#6889 Re: Guns N' Roses » POLL: BH Returning? » 883 weeks ago
I said yes cuz I couldn't vote for maybe.
The whole Buckethead situation is wayyy too weird to try and make sense of. There is no way
I could say no.
Yeah I voted no, but I wouldn't say there's no way it could happen. I think it's possible, just not likely. I'd welcome him back with open arms though, that's for sure.

Listen to the live version *really* sounds like arm....
Since a lot of the lines end in "call, all, fall, etc". Hall, would seem to make perfect sense there.
